Considering Earth HourBefore you decide to turn off every electronic device/ appliance in your household, consider the following.
Your local power plants constantly generates power, which are distributed through your neighborhood's transformers, and eventually end up in your home at a fraction. These power plants operates on a 24\7 schedule, and the amount of energy they create are not stored in an abundant level, except in the case of fail-safe protocols does a power plant provide minor backup electricity.
SO, by turning off all the electricity in your home, while saving bills on an economic level, does not dictate the fact that you are actually preserving energy. You are just simply not using the constant flow of electricity coming from your local provider.
Secondly, should you participate in total shutdown during Earth Hour, please consider that turning the power back on approximately after the end of the hour, may apply an incredible amount of stress on your local transformer. Reason being that there is

"It is my dream to write a novel"
"I wish I could write"
"I would love to write my novel on ..."
I let people know I am on my third novel. It is rare to meet a writer, rarely someone who has realised their dream, and who has produced a book. Rarer still to find a published author --- why? it seems so easy.....when you read them.

Undoubtedly one of the most prolific, innovative, and exciting artists
exhibiting their work on deviantART has to be the amazing BenHeine.
In terms of sheer creativity and the true spirit of art as human expression that knows no bounds,
he is currently with few peers. His unique visual creations have been featured in newspapers, magazines
and other publications worldwide and over the last few years his works have begun to populate art galleries
and museums from Brussels and London to Turkey, Romani

I'm really glad the DA has finally find time to open up a debate about it, considering we're the biggest art community online it's a very efficient way to get the word across! I was told that Sopa was brought up in october 2011 and obviously gradually went into a downward spiral from there...I actually recalled something that was kind of strange, back in 2009 or 2010, I remember watching a youtube video talking about 2012 disaster. The people in it stated that they found prove that lead them to believe that 2012 would not be a natural disaster apocalypse but would be an online crises that would end the "-internet-world" as we know it. The video stated that apparently major internet providers are planning to "sell" internet like cable

DIGITAL ART // SPECS
-Software: Photoshop CS 3.
-Hardware: MacBook Pro 2.53 GHz, Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 106 Mhz DDR3
-Graphic Tablet: Wacom Bamboo 4X5 and sometimes Intuos.
-How long does it take you to complete a piece? : from 6 to 8 hours.
-Do you rough sketch a piece first then complete it on your computer? no, I do all digital, from skecth, lineart and finally color.
-Technique: grisaille/brunaille... you start from dark to light, using a greyscale or sepia.
-Brushes: standart brush with shape dynamics and other dynamics activated. Pen pressure enabled.
-Why digital? 'cos is faster (you don't have to wait until paint dries) and cheaper than traditional
-Resolution size: 300dpi, letter size or bigger.

This week is evil.
Absolute pure evil. My entire brain goes crazy with my philosophy exam, which is on Friday, and which has 100 questions... I read a phrase and I can barely understand what it is about because it's on Ukrainian instead of Russian, not to mention to actually LEARN this absolutely unnecessary for me crap.
I mean, yeah, probably generally I do have to know a few aspects, but not Indian religion in smallest details... And I get oh so pissed because of this, and it annoys me even more.
and even more, knowing I won't pass it and I will loose money I get for studying.
Friday is coming, which means weekends are coming too, but it doesn't even cheer me up, gah D:
I know one thing, that I know nothing- well, hello, this is me
yeah, yeah, yeah, pretty much complaining about the unfairness of life, haha, don't mind me.
Also, whoever has not seen Avatar: The last Airbender and The legend of Korra, GO AND WATCH THESE ABSOLUTELY WORLD'S BEST TV SHOWS T
Why people think art should be cheapI mean some people even think that digital art should be cheaper than traditional, because there is no original. Why people think art should be cheap3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Its funny when people ask tons of things in a drawing, like 30 characters fighting a 12 dragons, and they think they can get it cheaper than a pencil drawing, because in the computer there must be a secret brush that makes all of this in 2 hours.
Sadly, painted style in digital takes more time than traditional. Artists says its easier, because you have more control. But sadly textures are cooler in traditional, and easier.
I remember 4 or 5 years ago when started thinking bout digital, i said damn if i learn digital, i will skip drawings and paint directly, this will make my life easier, it will take me less time to finish a product, like i can even finish 3 drawings in just a day, yeahhh i should try that.
5 years later, i was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wroonnngggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg.
So i used to think the same about speed, but not about price.
A little opinion...About the frontage thing... I think more than change the "popular" system, a new options set for the frontage are needed. This is not because I could be somewhat affected by the change, my pics keep appearing in FrontPage and the watchers are still following my work (and I thank you so much for that ) but because I saw a lot of people misplacing art and taking advantage of the new system, helping even more to create the odd idea of a popularity "goal/prize". I like the idea of the popular frontage because it works pretty much like a musical ranking and it was a tool to know public´s preferences: wich kind of concepts/ideas/colors/styles works better and like a test to know the effect of a specific work. Somewhat of democratic voice, that helps to know to the public a bit more.A little opinion...3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Before you ask, NO, I don't think that the goal of an artist is to be popular and I don't think that "popular=better" I saw both as different parameters that sometimes goes hand by hand and sometimes runs

DISASTER in Genoa, ItalyHi watchers.DISASTER in Genoa, Italy3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I have some bad news about me and the place where I live...
Yesterday morning a huge alluvion, gradually fallen since 2 a.m., hit the most big and important port city here in Italy, Genova.
At 11 a.m. the first disasters happened: damaged and flooded roads, pits, and brimful torrents.
Between 12 and 1 p.m. the main big river (Bisagno) and two other torrents (Sturla and Fereggiano) flooded, overwhelming whole neighborhoods just like a water bomb. Water everywhere; cars, scooters, buses, newsstands, garbage cans, everything swept away by the enormous mass of water. Shops and ground floors flooded.
Seven people died. Four women and three children.
A girl, 19 years old, she went to take her little brother at school...
And other two women died to rescue their children at school and kindergarten.
Though the security warned the city and the municipality about this danger, schools, offices and shops were open. Just like nothing would ever happen.
Half downtown is destroyed and ful

There is always a reason. A level of insult. An unprovoked assault. A threat of invasion. A refusal to negotiate in good faith. A refusal to compromise. There is always something so unbearable that it must be righted with no more delay and by any means, by even the last means, necessary. That final means is war.
Ever since mankind became able to produce and possess more than necessary for survival, there has been a surplus of resources. It is the treasure that has built our civilization and shaped the special magic and glory of what it is to be a human being.
The struggle for control and division of that treasure sometimes infects men’s minds with a unique
Art Feature 5 Good day everyone,Art Feature 53 years ago in Personal More Like This
I hope you all had a great start to this year. I am glad that these days some of the works suggested by me were featured as Daily Deviations. Of course I was surprised to see that one of my drawings has received a DD too. I tried to answer to all the messages received but I couldn't thank my watchers one by one, so I am doing it here, as always. Thank you all, and if you ever have a question or think that I might help you with something, feel free to ask without thinking twice.
I haven't drawn anything lately but I was lucky enough to find new wonderful works around this site and I am going to feature some of them in this new entry. This time I haven't chosen a theme but I've decided to feature them as a simple tribute to Art. I hope you will like them and hopefully appreciate these interesting artists.
Feature yourself journalThis journal is a place were people can feature themselves and stuff they make. There will be a link to this journal above the comment area on my frontpage.Feature yourself journal3 years ago in Personal More Like This
It will be easy to find and easy for people to use as they like.
Having many followers, its very tempting for others to use me to get seen, which I gess isnt much of a problem as long as people dont do it on my art or front page. So thats why im making this for those who might find it usefull.
xD I dont even know if this will even work, but it doesnt hurt to try.
So have fun sharing stuff with eachother and discovering new artists or friends or watchers or snails.
I will probably not have any time going through people who post here, but this is something for you to use ^^
Use the comment area to share your stash
StudioJust wanted to give a little tour on my materials that I use to paint (or what I find works for me)Studio2 years ago in Personal More Like This
*Liquin- Used to use mineral spirits, and linseed oil but I found how much linseed oil tends to turn all my colours yellow. Mineral spirits became too watered down many people asked if I painted with watercolours. Liquin and a bit of poppy seed oil makes a perfect mixture. (Almond oil is what I want to try in future)
*Brushes- Round Synthetic mongoose. Flat square brushes was my fav back in the time but no longer.
*Pallet- I buy a painting frame with glass for $8 then I put a white paper under the glass and use that to mix my paints. I used to own a little fridge where I would store my pallet over night (it never dries but your fridge will smell like oil)
*Reference photos- I tape an ipad to my painting and I can zoom in, play music, photoshop and skype while I paint. Best invention ever !
*Paints- I have upgraded to higher more expensive paints thanks to my gift cards (think of it as an

we laughed and then cried,
then buried our pain
down in dark tide.
You were my air
and I was your wine,
while the drugged stars danced
over night sky...
Your clever fingers
dug through my scars,
and I stitched your wounds
with the touch of mine.
Lips mixing in tastes
of wormwood and wild thyme
ripped hearts, souls torn,
in bodies of quicklime.
you of blood and fire.
me of blood and moonlight...
And then the dawn killed the night
and we lost our fight...
Light scorched our bones
and we danced no more.
