I have spent a whole week and a half, working on our kitchen with very few breaks. During the times I did have breaks though I was working on a little something that was supposed to be simple, but kinda evolved. Hope you like some Mario and Luigi love.
Another one of my pieces for the upcoming “3NES” show at Bottleneck Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. I’ll have prints for sale in their shop soon, I’ll let you know when! In recent years, I’ve had a fun time imagining Mario as nothing more than a bully; running, jumping and maiming innocent creatures as he makes his way through the Mushroom Kingdom. And here, those poor Goombas finally rise up and have their revenge. I kinda hope Mario gets what’s coming to him.
Inspired by Level 7-6 of Super Mario Bros. Wii. I thought the huge Para-beetles were super cute, even though that level was very frustrating to play with more than one player. Anyone who played this game will understand what I mean...the players can bump into one another and can cause each other to lose lives.
When I play with my cousins, the one that is the best at not dying plays the yellow Toad, so he's always the leader. We also shout "press A" when someone is about to die. Cheap way to save lives
I drew this at first on Colors! and then colored in Photoshop. This took pretty long because there were lots of things going on in the picture and it was difficult to lay them all out and not get in each other's way.
If anyone is interested in buying this print - 8"x12" is $10 12"x18" is $15 free shipping within the US, add $3 for other countries
Thanks for looking. Hope you like it
