I used to LOVE drawing in this style in my earlier art days, and totally dig this contest's ability to bring my pixel-skills back out! Back in college, due to my 'game-design' hobby, I was born and bred in Pixel Paint (which seems extinct nowadays), and miss working that close-up on 8-bit art. Thanks to this contest, I was able to research some more recent 'pixel-art' programs (which I'd been meaning to do in my OWN time, but was too into my 'vector-ous' ways ), and found a cool one to work in; GraphicsGale. Great program, learned alot more than anticipated. SO, without further ado, onto my first submission in this contest... Eggplants Suck.
Staying totally pixelated, and trying to divert from breaking any copyright laws, I went fully generic and created an original illustration of how the Icarus wings (with bow and arrows by their side) would look from behind, in my own 8-bit style.
For added nostalgia I found the best statement that would relate for the front of the hoodie; and any fan of the original NES game would totally understand this, because anyone who played, knew...they really did!
And a note to the 'big-wigs' of this contest...this statement is TOTALLY not copyrighted by NES, so fair use is game (no pun intended)!
Hope you enjoy this 'walk down the 8-bit memory lane', and hope to entertain you with many more submissions! Enjoy!
