I wasn't really sure how else to describe my dad's cousin's 'house' other than to call it weird. It was already strange enough that we literally had to drive almost an hour through the woods just to get to the darn property but to finally reach the clearing? It was amazing to see how much it reminded of a poor rich man living in the woods with his servants and his money.
"Who lives here Citizen Kane?" I grumbled while slamming the door and exiting the car with my parents.
"Aiden enjoys his seclusion he doesn't like the worries of consumerism to plague him," my mother responded in a way that I think was supposed to impress me. I jerked my head around with a cocky smile.
"Yes, and that most certainly can be achieved living in a mansion whose property stretches for almost one hundred acres and yet acquiring the internet and cable. Wow mom and dad. You are completely right."
It's no wonder that many people do

I couldn't believe it. Staring up into the sky, at first I couldn't see it due to the sudden rush of bright light. I gasped when my eyes focused.
It couldn't be, but it was.
A real live giant. 'But how?' I thought. Was it an amazing new scientific breakthrough? Or am I dreaming? I couldn't decide, all I knew was that I was completely transfixed.
I realized that what I was looking at was not only REAL but also really DANGEROUS.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" But apparently Allie beat me too it. Huddling there in a circle we all shook underneath the monster's gaze. When he heard the scream, his eyes rose and glanced around, apparently searching for the sound. I wasted no time.
Pulling my friends to their feet, I bolted underneath the fold of the bag. The cold darkenss I hoped would provide some element of security. Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky.
The Monster's hand quickly followed us after some muffled speech that I didn't bother to make out. We ran deeper
My Borrowers Stories Chapter 4I saw the boy's face, and he sat up. I realized I must have been on his chest, and I wasn't sure what else he'd done while I was unconscious. He whispered "Are you okay?" I clamped my mouth shut, refusing to answer. He observed me with his storm-blue eyes, and said "I won't hurt you." I glanced at him before trying to struggle free again. He sighed, and said "If I put you down, can I have some answers?" I glanced at him, and reluctantly nodded. He put me next to him, and I glared at him for a second before he asked "Are you okay?" again. I sighed, and said "Yes."My Borrowers Stories Chapter 44 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
He smiled, and asked "What's your name?" I glanced at him, confused. Name? "I don't think I have one " I told him, confused. He seemed surprised. "No name? Can I say some, and see if you like them?" I shrugged, not caring. He ran through a long list of names, and I picked seven I liked. "I like Abby, Chelsea, Taylor, Rachel, Jillian, Jade and Alex." He nodded, saying "Which one do you like best?" I shrugged. He repea

The day Brad had both awaited and dreaded had finally arrived. He was being released from prison. He had been assigned a short-term lease in a small apartment and a career counselor to help him "re-integrate" as they called it.
"Right," he mumbled under his breath at the thought. Very few felons were welcomed back into society with open arms, but Brad had read enough newspapers and magazines to know that he was particularly unpopular. After the night at the bonfire three years ago and the local giant's rise to fame and popularity, Brad found himself cast as the arch-nemesis of the Harper Vale's town hero. Which made most people in town rather disinclined to hire him.
After over two months of filling out application after application and not getting so much as a response, Brad finally received a letter in the mail. A plain, nondescrip
Change of Plans Chapter ThreeIt was around midnight when I decided to play detective and I creaked the door open and took in my surroundings before proceeding. My parents and Aiden basically let me do my own thing the rest of the night; my dinner was actually brought up to my room by Aiden who was not nearly as strange as he was earlier that day. I thought it was so strange that only a few hours after our conversation he simply placed my dinner down next to me at the computer and quietly walked out.Change of Plans Chapter Three4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
I shook my head as I walked down the hallway just thinking about how weird he was and how much I didn't think I enjoyed his company. He was attractive though, it was strange that he didn't have a wife or girlfriend living here with him.
Unless I allowed my imagination to run wild his woman was what was in the ballroom that he didn't want me to venture into. Maybe he was keeping her there as a slave, only able to take care of him away from the public eye.
My Borrowers Stories Chapter 8Over the next few days, a schedule was soon in action. In the mornings, they traveled until noon, then Grover left for about an hour, and came back with food and our location. Every time, Derek was able to successfully sneak me some food. And at nights, when they stopped again, he took me out of the pocket and slept with his arm shielding me. And every day, I felt increasingly more comfortable around him, and more like a friend. My Borrowers Stories Chapter 84 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
Grover left again, and he took me out of the pocket. I had no idea what to talk about, then I decided to ask "Do you think we're close?" He sighed, and said "I don't know. I hope so." I nodded, and ran up his arm to his shoulder, and sat next to his neck. I rested my head on his neck. He smiled, and said "The last time you did that was before we met Grover." I nodded, remembering.
By time Grover got back, I was sitting next to Derek again. Derek grabbed me, and put me in the pocket again as Grover came within sight. Grover came up to us with the usual bag, and

So it was on. Clover had promised to find the perfect gift for Ezra for Valentine's Day and he was going to try the same thing.
"How's the search coming?" Aiden asked with a small chuckle as he watched Clover huddled over the computer in her room. Her forehead was crinkled and her eyes were narrowed. She was certainly taking this very seriously. He leaned against the frame as Clover turned around to give him a tired look.
"What the heck do you get for a giant for gift?" she said, exasperated. "I have all the money I could ever need in a life time and I can't think of a single thing to get him. He's such a challenge!"
Aiden knew that Ezra was having the same problem. He couldn't go anywhere and he didn't really know what to send Aiden out to get. Both were having such a difficult time with this.

I Was the First Chapter 12"What is wrong with me?" I mumbled after I heard the door close. Taylor had so much more patience than me, and Shai, for all his rough edges was probably the most concerned about Natalie's safety and sanity.I Was the First Chapter 124 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
"Where does that leave me?" I whispered and opened the door again to find Shai sitting there at the table again. His eyes were tear stained, he would never let anyone see him cry except me and even then he hated it. We were twins, and as different as we were, we shared a bond that no one could hope to understand. The loss of our mother hurt him the most of all, he was the one with her when she passed.
"How are you doing?" I asked him carefully as I sat down next to him and dropped a heavy hand on his shoulder. He shrugged.
"Taylor took Natalie?" he asked.
"Yup probably back to your place."
"I still don't think this is a good idea," Shai went on and focused on me. "She she's got a lot going on in her life ri

After Grey had a fire started he came back to the table and sat himself down on the floor. He watched the fire, but it didn't seem right to say that he was paying attention to it. His eyes looked hollow.
I crossed to the edge of the table, looking down at him as he continued to watch the fire in silence. For the first time, I realized how lonely I would have been without him. He was the only thing in this world that was even slightly familiar to be, and despite the way he would be so 'up' one minute and so 'down' the next I needed him. I sat on the edge of the table and allowed my denim clad legs to hang over the side. "Penny for your thoughts?" I finally decided to ask him.
"There have been others," he answered flatly. I tried to understand just what he was talking about when he swiveled his head towards me. "What you asked me back outside?" he explained.

The child was running along the thinniest branches of Yggdrasil, passing by whole universes in a handful of tiny steps, tripping over his feet and resuming his rush across paths hidden to most of deities.
Liar!! His voice thundered into his own ears, the word he had cried at his father haunting him, hurting like the truth he had discovered. Lies, everybody had lied to him. For his whole life.
Blinded by tears, Loki ran and ran, as fast as he could, away from home.
"I have found him."
Odin and his wife Frigga turned to the all-seeing Heimdall. His golden eyes were gazing at the distance without betraying any emotion. There was no need for other words.
"So he is where we feared," said Odin, sternly.
"Is he well?" asked Frigga.
"Yes. No one has noticed his presence yet. It is a matter of time, though."
"Then we will not wait. Open the Bifrost" Odin ordered. As Heimdall impassively placed his sword in the bridge core, Odin exchanged a look with his wife. "I

Don't you know
She bleeds for you,
You say and do?
Don't you know
You hold her heart?
Can't you see her
She hurts just to feel your touch
She lives her life in denial
You treat her like shit, and she loves you so much
She bleeds only to make you smile
Can't you see
The pain she's in?
Your heart is all
She wants to win
And for you, she keeps on trying
And believing all your lies
Don't you know that she is dying?
Can't you see it in her eyes?
She falls just to make you laugh
She breaks just to make you love her
She'd do anything to be with you
But you're never even thinking of her
You taught her exactly
How to be
You taught her how
To make you happy
But she'll never be good enough
No matter how hard she's tries
And she'll live for you, you'll own her soul
until the day she dies

There is a place
That I dwell
I call it my
Own living hell
It's a place
That no one else can see
That's only meant for me
And when I'm in this place,
Everything is red
A whole new world of chaos,
The only place I dread
It's made of madness,
Pain, and fear
It kills all hope
Anytime it's near
Popping pills, getting high,
Trying to forget
About everything that I have lost
And all the things that I regret
And when I'm in this place,
Everything is red
A whole new world of tragedy,
A whole new world that's dead
And I can hear them laughing,
Because I'm such a freak,
Because I'm a disgrace,
Laughing because I'm weak
It takes me, it breaks me,
It keeps me here
And I hate this place
More every year
But most of all,
I hate this place
Because when I'm here
I see your face
And I can't help
But wonder why
You would leave me
Here to die
My heart's been broken
So many times
There's still a million pieces
I'll never find
And when I'm in this place,
Everything is red
A whole new world of crimso

I walked lonely and lonely on a silent street
Saw empty benches where dear ones meet
Underneath were impressions of invisible feet
Tenderly touched by the cool breeze
Heartily greeted by nodding trees
Oh! I was like a guest to a land of love and peace
The daffodils in yellow
Looked up and said hello!
I was standing in a meadow
Basking in The heavenly glow
Eternal bliss as far as the mind could go
Like an enchanted audience in a cardist's show.
The leaves so mesmerizing like the spades of cards
My joy now equivalent to the thirteen hearts
Clear water falling like diamonds
I felt like the queen of my club ready to commence
I was in my world, my world of pleasure
Wanting to keep this safe, safe as a treasure
My mind was fresh and pleased
Wanting this tranquility never to cease
But, the silence didn't last for long
As it was broken by another dawn
This happiness and serenity in my world of fantasy
A paradox it is, in the world of reality.

an illness inside that nobody sees
bit by bit, it eats away at your heart
completely tearing you apart
you'll know when it's about to begin
you'll feel like your chest is caving in
it never sleeps, it never dies
it feeds off fragile and innocent lives
you can try your very best
but know that it will never rest
it makes you weak, it makes you sad
it makes you cut, it drives you mad
you'll never escape it, you'll never be free
and I know for a fact cuz the sickness killed me
