Going back to canon background interpretations! I had intentions on drawing cloudsdale as if it were an independent pegasus monarchy. Not sure if this would quite fit the bill, but I'm still ok with how it turned out. Anyways, hope you like it! Completion time of 11 hours over a period of 4 days.
Here is the castle of the royal pony sisters: 20% less crumbly edition, because the original was too crumbled. I swear, they made castles out of nature valley granola bars back then. Anyways, the original was also very ambiguous so it left alot of room for interpretations, but I also used some ideas from [link] . Completion time of 14 hours over a period of 3 days.
Woo! I'm done. Sweet Apple Acres ftw. This was much like my Town square piece in the fact that there wasn't much room for interpretation in the original, so not much has been changed overall. Still, I gotta say this is my best work in terms of realism. Completion time~ 21 hours over 5 days.
11x14" paper! Professional graphite pencil kit! Next level drawing apparatus is complete! The library in Canterlot we saw in the first episode, where our favorite egghead dwelt all day reading every last book in the library. Can you imagine such a feat? I gave it a more steampunk/victorian feel to it, as if this was how it looked way back when. I'm not gonna lie, I don't really like this one. Didn't turn out right. It's probably my lack of experience with actual art pencils.. I'm not sure if I should keep using them or not. Or maybe it's because this took me what seemed to be forever to finish it and that set my standards ridiculously high. Maybe both? well, whatever. Hope you like it more than I do. Completion time~ 28 hours over a period of 6 days. Oh, and heads up- the download is ridiculously massive. Proceed at your own risk!
The season finale was /)^3^(\ that I was obligated to make something from it. Keep in mind I drew some of this while I had zero hours sleep the previous night, so some parts are a bit sloppier than usual. Completion time: 16 hours over 3 days. Oh, and it turned out my audition was actually on the 21st, which was kind of a good thing.. Nonetheless, I'm pretty sure I made the cut after all! Anyways, It feels good to be back
"All glory to the new Lyrian Empire!" Not really.. more like: "Dammit, Lyra! you're not allowed to be up there! Get down!" "What are you gonna do about it?" *sip* This was a first for me in many ways. The perspective, the textures, and of course, ponies. Well, a pony. I think I got lucky with this one to be honest. I'm sure there are things wrong with the perspective and scale, but overall, I'm happy with it. Hope you like it! completion time: 16 hours over 4 days
Or she's just rehearsing.. whatever. This was originally supposed to be Octavia standing alone on a stage, but ended up being an entire concert hall (designed by me, mostly) while Octavia just so happens to be there. Well, I'm still very happy with it. This is by far my biggest piece~ it took a whopping 29 hours over a period of 5 days to complete.
Hey, guys! I'm back So this is inside Canterlot, where the Elements of Harmony are housed (most notable in the season 2 premiere). As I was collecting references from the show, I realized that the original was somewhat influenced by the interior of a cathedral. So I gave the whole thing a renaissance architecture feel, or at least tried to.. could have turned out better, but oh well. Speaking of which, some parts are kind of messy and ambiguous, and less refined in terms of realism. I admit, I am a bit rusty, haha Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things though soon enough! But I must say, it feels great to start drawing again This was an absolute monster to finish, though. Due to a metric crap tonne of trial and error from being bed sore from the pencil, completion time was 38 hours on and off for over a week~ new record! Done on 11x14 inch paper.
Hey, guys. So do any of you remember that old summer project I promised you guys last year? I finally got around to it. It's only been, what? a year? It's all good. LOL So.... yeah. This is my vision of the streets of Canterlot- if it were to be built by French architect ponies. I think it's the perfect compliment to Canterlot; the street cafes, cobblestone, even the little gargoyles/ statues are in the show. I had a lot of room for interpretations for this piece thanks to the ambiguity in the visual stylings of the show. Though I do feel I abused the liberty a bit, seeing how the only things that make this recognizable as Canterlot are the towers, the cafe seen in the S2 finale and "Sweet and Elite", and Pony Joe's. Meh, whatever. I'm still happy This is actually the first piece in a looong time of which I am truly satisfied with the outcome. I've had so much fun drawing this, it's silly I also found my .3 mechanical, which really helped a lot. You'd me surprised by how much of a difference of .2mm can make.. it's ridiculous! Completion time~ 58 hours over 2 weeks. Crushed my old record!! It sure payed off in the end, I gotta say. I sure hope you like it as much as I do.
