This is my favorite painting that I've done. It was done as a commission, and you really can't go wrong with the Rocketeer. If you don't like Dave Stevens art or his flying hero, then you have problems.....period...ha! Acrylics/ colored pencils on gessoed illustration board.

This Watchmen piece was done for a portfolio piece a while back in 2010. I wanted to mix elements of the original Moore/Gibbons designs and the movie designs. It's done with acrylics and colored pencils, all by hand, on gessoed illustration board, which is my regular illustrative technique.

This is another hand painted Iron Man piece I did as a commission for my friend Stephen Mooney. The background had a portrait of Robert Downey Jr., but I liked the composition more centered, so I removed that part in photoshop, and I also add one small PS lens flare on his chest. Every other part, including glows and highlights were done traditionally with an airbrush and colored pencils.

Love these movies and character!

This is a commission I recently had some time to paint. The client requested a "movie poster" style piece. Acrylics and colored pencils on illustration board. 20x30 inches

I think the thing that has been most fun about working on FFG's upcoming Star Wars card game is that I get to envision scenes from the movies from angles that the camera never picked up. Sort of makes the whole classic Star Wars experience fresh again!

Now this is something I'm SUPER pumped about. Star Wars was such an inspiration to me as a kid and I remember thinking time and time again "I wish I could do Star Wars art!". Well, whaddaya know. I get to do Star Wars art! Fantasy Flight Games is releasing their new Star Wars living card game soon and a couple of my cards were spoiled at the previews at GenCon. The first card I did for the game was none other than Darth Vader. I'm really humbled that my art director felt comfortable enough giving me the task to create art for the most badass sci-fi villain of all time. Rarely do we get to see Vader dealing with rebel scum in such a direct way, so I'm sure you can imagine how giddy I was when I got the initial prompt.
