Monsters, destruction, and sweet butterflies
Hopscotch and daisies, surrounded by screams
Beautiful dresses now torn at the seams
Crayons and paintbrushes, villains and grins
Young, gladsome innocence, hatred and sins
Little red houses on roads left to fade
Gorgeous moonlight shining off of the blade
Blood pouring out as she cries her own name
Knowing she's forced to take each bit of blame
She could have stopped it and left it behind
All of these things in her troubled young mind
She could have saved them if she dared to try
Rather, though, she left herself there to die.

Be who you are.Be who you are.1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
People are always going to tell you
Who to be and who you are
It's your job to say
This is me
Draw if you want to draw
Write if you want to write
Eat foods you want to eat
And do what you want to do.
Society has images
That we are all supposed to conform to
Be who you want to be
And not what other people tell you to be.
Just because you like
Something that no one else does
Doesn't mean
That you are any less of a person
Everyone is strange in their own way
And it will always be your job
To be who you want
And to do what you want.

Thy hand ensconced in mine
Wondrous heavenly rapture
Oh to cease the flow of time
Canst thou not know this heart
Yet place such tender kiss
Do these eyes my truth betray
In face of fleeting bliss
Sweet the voice of welcome
Thy words melodious wine
Oh honeyed apparition
Of womanhood divine
How I long to hold thee
Yearn to call thee mine
And yet the fates uncaring
To dreams and fantasy confine
Thou wears an others ring
Though loveless and forlorn
I see the deepest sadness
For all that thou hast sworn
So love remains unspoken
Silenced for manners sake
Convention heroically upheld
While weeping he

Holding hands? A clever way of fighting off the cold
Telling every secret so they don't remain untold
Laughing, though he's said it oh so many times before
Staring deep into his eyes to open rusted doors
Staying up to talk to him, but only for support
Innocent intentions others do tend to distort
Kissing him so gently, promises until the end
Can't destroy this happiness with such a loyal friend

You...To feel a thousand wordsYou...1 year ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
A spring of pure delight
The rising tide of love
That echoes through the night
Can you hear my whisper
The words I dare not write
The song my heart would sing
In rays of dazzling light
How to paint your beauty
The words I cannot find
Like a star in heaven
Your radiance doth shine
Sweet and gentle maiden
Love remains unspoken
For if you turned away
My heart and world... broken
So, in soft veils of sleep
My heart on wings will rise
Death and dragons I'll fight
And you shall be my prize...

Walking down the aisle with a shining sapphire ring
Step by step, relying on a life of shiny things
Saying that she loves him, what a wonderful disguise
Hiding what she really wants behind those evil eyes
Making us the villains, like we've come to break her heart
Almost like we're living just to tear her world apart
Treating us like nothingness, like voices in her head
Just to make him love her so she doesn't feel so dead
Making his world spin so quickly, time does fade to grey
Waiting would have killed it, so she sent

For the world I am displayed;
They always watch but cannot see
through my masquerade.
I feel every moment fly;
My heart is beating, pulse racing,
breath held as I lie.
My innocence I can't defend;
I know that surely this will linger
'til my very end.
I brought this all upon myself;
Mask upon mask, lie upon lie
like valueless wealth.
Dare I take these masks off no!
My former self haunts me
everywhere I go.
False glory, false honor, false fame;
With all these masks I seem to have
forgotten my own name.

Thirteen fears.
Thirteen haunted years.
Thirteen cold bitter tears.
Thirteen memories linger and leer.
Thirteen days pass as death nears.
Thirteen screams that no one ever hears.
Thirteen foggy futures that never come out clear.
Thirteen cries for help that die when fate sneers.
Thirteen faceless figures that hear all helpless cries without ears.
Thirteen towering clocks that chime each passing life with dusty gears.
Thirteen windows that never break against the pounding fists and bloody smears.
Thirteen words that echo, echo, echo through the insanity your mind surely bears.

Sweet bird you lived your life in a cage,
Black forces, burned you all away...
How could I sit by and watch you die?
Sleep soundly on the bed where you used to lie.
Your legs and your arms were bleeding,
Burned stump on the night, were you crying?
How sweet was the sound of you dying?
In pools of blood, were you smiling?
Sweet bird you lived your life in a cage,
I wondered, how I used to hate...
Your life and your sweetness inside,
I took your life on that cold night...
Crying all these tears of weakness,
Sweet bird you took on my sickness.
Deep inside of the forest of witches,

Dear imagination, can't you be the thing you were
Butterflies and daffodils and happiness so pure
Sunny skies and lullabies and dreams of what could be
Hidden worlds and wonderlands of things they couldn't see
Shining gowns and silver crowns for dancing with the prince
Twirling with excitement, though the others weren't convinced
Dear intimidation, did you find it to be true
All I ever needed was an overdose of you
Silly stares and laughter slowly flood a child's mind
Making me abandon every daydream I could find
Lost beneath the shadows of the sky so dark and dead
Far too weak to turn around, yet scared of things ahead

The Pilgrims TaleThe pilgrim told his taleThe Pilgrims Tale1 year ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
His words echoing in pain
Purple clouds in passing
Shedding tears like rain
Love became his healing
Upon that distant shore
Stallions jumping clouds
Turning rumor into lore
Words that held new meaning
Tumbled from his lips
Sun and moon both dancing
As time began to slip
And so the flowers sang
Trees joined in the dance
All in celebration
Of this his golden chance
I walked a furlong with him
Beheld his holy grail
Then I sang with seagulls
As for Avalon he sailed...

Below a crimson sky
Sings an azure willow
She's simply asking 'why?'
Among the yellow buds
Lay broken hearts so red
Each so very wounded
They surely must be dead
Blue grass bends in sorrow
Green parrots sing sad songs
Elven folk stand crying
For a world so full of wrong
Sunbeams kiss the dying
The moon sends healing dust
Angels sew the deep wounds
Of those who gave in trust
Faery folk bring new wings
And very special gifts
Eyes that see a thousand worlds
And words men's souls to lift
Healed, these hearts are rising
Composing ballads for the stars
Newborn poets flying

Please leave the door open for me, starlight
I might not be coming home tonight
Though my mind tells myself I feel fine
I guess my body won the battle this time
My heart did feel heavy that particular day
But such a burden to others I never like to say
What is bothering me or the way that I feel
They pry me open like a weapon concealed
But all around me people were screaming
For what I don't know the purpose or meaning
But just then I felt the plastic on my face
And a warm fluid enter my veins
The last thing I remember were simple words
"I'll always love you" by my favorite girl
And those lights that shined brigh

Because just as I know we have no future,
I couldn't have stopped it before it was born,

And still I cannot change it,

More deserted than before
Populated by my despair
In this endless ocean
With it's waves of pain
My overwhelming emotion
It's crushing me again
You all drifted away
Off into the distance
Just why won't you stay?

Exciled out of sight
Because I am infected

It all cuts deep into me, like the sharpest blade,
and yet, it all happened so long ago.
I want to let go, but I'm so afraid,
There are just so many things I want you to know.
The emotions I have, just seem to cascade,
These are the feelings, I don't want to show.
My mind seems to wander, it will never evade,
I can't seem to forget, how much I need you so.
Happiness eludes me, it's such a charade,
Sometimes I wish I could shift time and fore-go.
My thoughts play out like a full masquerade,
followed by guilt and endless sorrow.

Take away the tears and pain
With thy healing charm
Let thine eyes enchant me
To thee surrender all
This bondage my salvation
Soft and sweetest thrall
This world hath made me weary
Bestow thy sacred kiss
Take away this misery
Give me dark and velvet bliss
Mourning hours by thy tomb
Ripped this heart in two
Let not death defile
This love so deep and true
The sun is slowly setting
I feel thy power rise
Come then my beloved
Fear not our loves reprise
For thou art not unholy
And I am not complete
Thy feast shall be our healing
Come gorge until replete
Living or undead

This darkened path I've been down before
Every step I take, beats with doubt
And as I fight back these darkened thoughts

As the shrieking darkness of this soul dies
Its beauty becomes so clear
So now I sit, and wait,
For the next time it comes near
And I know it will come back again
Because it knows that I am here
