It starts with a girl. She's only thirteen, broken and small and unappreciated. Her hair's too long, her hips are too wide and her fingers are too fat. She looks in the mirror and struggles to find a redeeming feature; the only time she ever likes herself is when she writes, and that's not enough, never enough, because no one appreciates that either.
She needs to be liked, this girl. She needs to be loved. She needs to be important to people who are important to her. And the people important to her, with few exceptions, have, thus far, damaged her, left her shattered, a shell of the child she was.

-Practice relaxation techniques such as visualization, progressive muscle relaxation and deep breathing.
- Exercise regularly, 20 minutes per day, three days per week. Exercise releases the "feel good" hormones into our blood stream, lowers blood pressure, relaxes muscles and clears the mind.
- Your attitude and the way you respond to stressful situations is important. You can choose to let something upset you or not. You can use a positive attitude to get through a tough time.
- Avoid consuming excessive amounts of alcohol, caffeine, fats and sugars.
- Know your stress signals. When you're feeling stressed, how doe

Stagnant ChaosI don't want to do anything.Stagnant Chaos3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Lay my stagnant body down in this pool of swirling emotions
and let the gentle tide carry me away.
It's all too much to handle,
the way my mind is racing around incessantly,
jumping from thought to thought because it can't find sufficient answers
to any of the questions stirring.
Thought chaos like this is what keeps me awake at night,
so I guess it's a good thing I don't want to sleep right now;
just be still in this non-still world
and watch as time passes slower than ever and still leads to nothing.
I don't want to move.
It feels like gravity is pulling especially hard,
willing my limbs to stay in

I am painting the bathroom and the radio
playing the morning classical music show
is in the bedroom. The announcer's words
are not clear but I hear her tone of voice
and she sounds concerned - her tone says,
"Are you listening? Do you hear me say
every European name correctly?
Do you know that this music so many
consider dull is fine music and exactly
what you should be listening to?"
But today the music is dull, it is virtuosity
whose only aim is to fly through harmony
as fast and precisely as possible. A clarinet
does so in one piece, a flute in the next.
These composers had feelings but did not use
music to express them - and so it is

I could imagine that it might be raining today
some moths are whirring around
flying around the only light I have
funny dancing like acrobats
Suddenly a scary sound
it's somewhere in my chamber
I don't know where
My own rival is a mightful animal
A mystifying unhallowed thing
I wanna be alone but he wouldn't let me go
The flies are always arguing me
There's someone hiding in the edge of my chamber
I hear a scary sound somewhere
I wanna be alone but he wouldn't let me go
The flies are always arguing me
Cramps are thrashing through my body
my fingers are scratching lines
into my skin. I hear his awful voice
don't speak of him

I hate you.
... That sounds much better.
But when I'm not with you, my curiosity is sparked, and you envelope my mind. Yet when I'm with you, I think you are the most pompous human being I have ever laid eyes on.
So, then, why when you told me you were in love with me, my heart inflated and I was crying tears of joy and pure, unadulterated happiness?
I love you. I hate you. I love you. I hate you. Those were the only words I could think of. I love you. I hate you. I love you. I hate you.
And finally I make a decision. I looked him directly in the eyes and said: Kiss me yo
