Secular Humanism for the winSo I just got back from the Östergötland regional meeting of the Secular Humanist organization. It was a very rewarding experience... it was very enlightening, learning about the philosophy- I think I finally found a philosophy with which I identify.
We were about forty or so people meeting up, and the president of the association, Christer Sturmark, (who is a minor celebrity) held a very interesting lecture on humanism, religion and society. I've never felt prouder to be an atheist; being among likeminded, intellectual people was plain uplifting. I am joining, without a doubt.
...and in other news, while the people here on DA do not seem to consider me too much of a strident, aggessive atheist, my atheist family does. Oy vey, the lack of self awareness that an Aspie must endure...
