Call of the Seabound Coasts
Call of the Seabound Coasts to Emily of New Moon Theme
The waves crash against the rocks
The sea moves with the tide
The white sand meets red cliffs
This is my home
My heart is in the sea
My eyes search for the rolling hills
My skin longs for the salty sea air
My lungs wish to take in the air of the harbour
As I look to the East
My heart calls for home
When I see red in the morning
I heed the sailor's warning
When I swim in the pool
I am at home in the water
When I see fish when I shop
I remember how fresh they used to taste
I miss the harbour and sea bound coast of Halifax
I yearn for the Sand Dunes of Cavendish and Stanhope
I am drawn to the dark and dreary mountains of Nova Scotia
I long for the red cliffs of Prince Edward Island
When can I come to you again?
When can I see you again?
Will you heave a sigh and wish for me, Nova Scotia
I will return to you again, my Island
Can I Place My FaithCan I place my faith,Can I Place My Faith1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
in this chair when I sit?
Can I place my faith,
and relax in it?
Can I trust in the sun?
Can I trust in the moon?
Can I depend on daylight to shine?
Can I trust the moon to glow?
If I go to the stop at the corner,
will the bus eventually come?
If I go to the bank,
will my money still be there?
Will the grocery store always be full?
Will Wal-Mart’s prices always be low?
Can I have faith in nature?
Can I put any trust in the world?
If people make a promise,
can I rely on them to keep their word?
I put faith in nature and the world.
I trust people at their word.
I put my faith in things from the world.
What about the One in heaven?
Can I have faith in God above?
Can I trust in His love?
Can I depend on the Lord of hosts?
Can I believe He is close?
Can I go to church and trust in Him?
Can I trust He’ll hear, even when my voice is thin?
Can I believe God is there?
Can I trust He heard my prayer?
Do I believe God rises the sun?
Is He there when I am
The RainAs I sit in the darknessThe Rain2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I remain safe in my nest
Outside the rain falls
As thunder answers lightning's call
My heart stops as I hear the roar
Will God let me hear me more?
Not even media can drown out the boom
Not even cars can silence rain's mood
The rain drops onto to the windows and doors
The lightning flashes soundless words
The thunder answers with roars that roll
As God's light and sound show unfolds
The rain calms, the thunder fades
As light disappears at the end of the day
Hidden are the sun's rays
As lightning strikes the darkness away
As I look over
I see people run into the store for cover
They do not need any more thunder
They just want food to fill their cupboards
But nature will have her show
Nature will proclaim for us to know
That God is King and Lord
Therefore let us worship Him more
Rain drops whisper what the thunder roars
Lightening declares the truth of old
God is worthy of praise and honour
For God created the lightning and thunder
Praise the God who gives us the
Dark Night of the SoulDark Night of the Soul2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Dark Night of the Soul
As she looks back over the years
She reflects on the things she hears
The ghosts and whispers of the past
Their voices are hoarse and rasp
They come from the time of teasing
When she only knew criticism and glares
Why do they always come back?
Why do they bring her back there?
She can remember yesterday
When her troubles seemed to be forever
No hope or care
Nothing but despair
Then God rescued her from the trial
She could stand underneath
She thought she would never fall
Until the dark time of her soul came
Ghosts pull her back so quickly
So swiftly she is dragged to the dark
So consuming she fails to see the door is still open
So up front she fails to see the chains are deception
Yet she still feels trapped
She cannot feel her Saviour
All she sees is herself strapped
Strapped to the enemy's grasp
Is God still there? Can He not free her?
He already did free her
When she remembered this truth
Her heart began to burst
"Swing your lashes!" she cries to her ad
