That's a fact that any youngling at the Jedi Temple can echo from the day they learn to communicate. You can even look it up at the public information terminals on Coruscant not that anyone does, since they think of it as a bunch of mystical hooplah. But to those of us who are sensitive to the Force, there's no questioning it. Everything, animate or not, living or not, is touched by the Force, but it is the vital energy of the living sentients, animals, plants, microbes that creates the Force as we know it.
With that in mind, it's no surprise that most Jedi do their level best to keep from killing anything that's alive. Sure, they wrap it in some morally-palatable spew, but the bare fact of the matter is that when something dies, it affects the Force adversely. You kill enough people, you weaken the Force as a whole. At least, that's how I've always seen it.
