I narrowed my eyes. Crouching behind a brick wall, shaking like a wet dog, (because frankly, I sort of was one), I listened as the coin hit the ground on the other side, flipped by someone hopefully unaware of my presence.
Ping! The coin had fallen on the filthy concrete, and was now rolling around to a stop, I thought. That's what it had sounded like, anyway.
It was in the middle of the night; the town had gone to sleep. I was probably the only person awake, along with the person on the other side of the wall and the gangs crawling around the backstreets of the city.
The sky was pitch black, and you could see many stars dotted across it. Of course, you'd probably see more if there wasn't so much smog covering them.
I wondered why in the world I was even there in that alleyway, hovering above
