Waiting for something,
That will never come.
I have to check,
And check again,
Just waiting for,
One word from you.
Anything at all,
Would make me happy,
Even a simple hello,
But I will not,
I dont even want,
To talk about it.
That will never,
Not for me.
If it did happen,
I would just faint,
I know I would,
From too much happiness.
In this world,
I am truly alone,
And all there is,
I sent it to you,
With a hope,
And a silent prayer,
You wont hate me.
Im a strange person,
I write things,
Meant for people,
And never send them.
But I still wait,
For a reply

The weather etched smile is honest.
The slender face says sixty; it lies.
It is that and half again.
Knobby hands sun baked and brown
peek out from ragged gloves.
They seem part of the old split locust post
where they are resting;
one of the row of soldiers
that keep watch on their field and its occupants.
The smile broadens as I approach.
I help stretch the wire.
His archaic dialect fills the road
with cows and snow and the yankees
that his grandparents saw marching.
The hours pass pulled by the mule
he plowed with as a boy.
He mentions his wife
they'd been married almost 60 years.
She "took sick" and died (at her own hand)
some 15 years ago.
(it is sad what people must do to escape pain)
But he only remembers the little things
she did so often to help him
they are bittersweet candy.
I know he misses her.
I smile as we finish.
He offers to pay me,
but I refuse it.

If only I could lose my eyes yet still be able to see
If only I could lose my life and live for eternity
If only I could lose the moon yet somehow embrace the night
If only I could make my heart stop beating. Beating.
If only I could lose my touch and never feel the pain
If only I could lose my strength and live without the strain
If only I could give up now everything might be okay
If only I could make my heart stop beating. Beating.
Make my pulse stop rising
Stop my heart falling
If only. If only.
If only this was all possible
If only my heart would stop beating for you

Violets are blue
Before you promised me
That you would be true
I gave you my love
So that we can start
But instead you just smiled
Right before breaking my heart
So now I am crushed
While you are still free
You're more happy now
That you have forgotten me
The roses are dead
But the violets stayed true
They have left my life
Nothing but Blue

Okay, so I really have no idea how this happened. I mean, I'd only met the guy a few months ago. Sure, since going on this quest we'd been together a lot, but I'd never imaged this. I got out of bed and walked into the bathroom. I gasped when I saw my neck. Two large hickeys were on the collar of my neck. I walked out of the bathroom just as Nico was getting up.
"Ruby? What's wrong with..."
I punched him in the face. Of course, this just made him smile. He grabbed my still out stretched arm and pulled me down beside him. Before I could do anything, he started kissing me on the neck, right around where the hickeys were.
"Ruby, what are these?"
"They're the reason I punched you."
"Because of two purple spots on your neck?"
"No, you stup

"Heavyn?" came a voice. When she didn't show any signs of hearing it, it sighed, then "HEAVYN!!!"
The shout snapping out of her reverie, Heavyn shook her armored head and replied with an intelligent, "Huh?"
"Finally!" exclaimed the X-blade. "Do you realize how long it took for you to realize that I was trying to get your attention?"
Suddenly, Heavyn felt the glider descending as the X-blade growled, "Well, we need to talk, and not while we're in mid-air."
Jaw dropping underneath her helmet, Heavyn was shocked at how angry the X-blade sounded.

"Side Effects May Include..."
It was a rather nice day. The sun was shining, birds were singing, people smiled and waved at each other.
From a rather strange, green house on a round-about street, a voice growled, " I hate cheerful days like this!"
Inside the house, Irken Invader Zim jerked the blinds of a window closed adn walked to a small couch. GIR, his dog-suited dysfunctional SIR unit, shoved a whole taco in his mouth and laughed insanely.
"I mean, look at those filthy humans!" Zim continued, ignoring the psychotic robot. "Happily prancing about, enjoying their pathetic lives! This planet's just begging to be destroyed!"
"Yay! I love destruction!" GIR screamed, throwing a taco in the air. The food landed on Zim's head with a splat and the Irken screamed as the ground meat burned his skin.

I saw you today. You were walking down the street, and you looked sad. I smiled at you, but you didn't see. I know you didn't mean anything by it, but it made me sad. I know that you would have a beautiful smile. You look nice in blue. Love, Thomas.
He carefully folded the letter into thirds, walked to the door, and pushed it through the slot. Then he smiled, and turned back to his work, hoping that it might help her find her own smile.
The next day, he saw her again, walking down the street. He smiled again, and this time she saw him, but she merely nodded a hello, and kept going. His expression of joy slipped a little, and he sat down on a park bench nearby and pulled out a spiral bound notebook.
Dear Alice, he wrote.
You were sad again today. The sun was out and a butterfly flew past you, but I don't think you saw it. It was pretty, just like you. The sky matched the colour of your eyes. I think they would sparkle as bright as diamonds i

And when it was worn and withered,
I did not cry.
It's not what I expected,
I knew the rose would not grow,
Into a lumbering, majestic tree,
That in the wind would flow.
The petals fell, one by one,
Browned under the burning sun,
Scattered across the table and chairs,
Worn and withered without a care.
And when the rose finally snapped,
I let out a deep sigh,
The weight of the world,
Broke its' neck,
But I did not cry.
I already knew what to think,
When I saw your face,
But I learned how not to speak,
When it wasn't my time or place.
I played your little game,
And we had a bit of fun,
But now we're driving in the other lane,
And all is said and done.
My shoulders are turned in,
The petals fall from my hand,
The ocean washes them away,
Down on the sand.
I know this wasn't planned,
And it didn't last too long,
But it's hard to pretend,
That I am still strong.

i’ll be honest with you;
there is a certain authority to being
somebody said once that writers struggle with reality
because we spend all of our time
constructing our own.
the truth is, life may be impermanent
but the details are not.
time has one direction
the past cannot be revisited
and history cannot be redone
with a red pen.
what happens, happens.
we are walking permanent records
that can never be expunged.
no matter how many orphans we pull from fires
no matter how many dying children we sing to
we still made our mother cry once
we still let our little brothers find us passed out
on the front porch when we were nineteen.
imagination is our primary retreat
because there, that boy does fall in love with us
and our first kiss is not spit on our chins
or misses landing on our nose
(maybe there are waves crashing in the background)
and we say everything right.
there, we have crafted a version of ourselves
that lives perfectly.

Heat 1"Heat"Heat 15 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
It happened once every year.
It wasn't really a big deal; Zim was used to it by now, ever since he went through the change from the equinox he had to take a week off school and just confine himself to his house.
Sure, it made him irritated and more hostile than normal, but it was just him in his lab for that week so there was no threat of him trying to leave and do something about his discomfort and irritation.
This dreaded event was called, 'Heat' and Zim suffered from it once every year for an entire week before those disgusting needs died down.
He knew the basics; ever since he felt the stirrings within his body, felt his skin grow hot and his mouth dry with this unusual yearning he had done some research on the subject. At first he thought he had contracted some Earth illness; but now he knew better, after all, he had suffered through four of these cycles thus far.
Zim didn't know if he truly had anything to worry about. He wasn't even sure these human things w

If to live is to love
and to love is to live,
then do we love because we live
or do we live because we love?
Does anyone really know
what it feels like to love?
Or do we say we love
to justify that we live?
Could it be that we live
just to prove the existence of love?
Because if this is true,
why do we hate so much?
To achieve peace in our world
we start reckless wars
that cause thousands of people to die,
yet we blindly live on
Is it our minds that are corrupted
to make us believe that hatred could obtain tranquility?
Or could it be that way we live?
Maybe even the way we love?
So many questions
that may never have answers,
but will always haunt us
forever depriving us of true love
In the Dark-Chapter 1In the Dark-Chapter 16 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
The air was crisp, enveloping the city in that icy grip it always seemed to have during this time of the year. Everything was white save for the red and green decorations clinging to nearly every house and building in the city it seemed. The month was December which meant Christmas was approaching fast. It was a time of cheer and good will towards all mankind...well...most of mankind at least. For a certain 17 year old hi-skool student, it was a time of gloom and bad memories. While the rest of the world celebrated this joyous time of the year, he spent most of his time indoors, locked in his room, just praying that the holidays would pass quickly so he could get on with his life. He hated this time of the year, especially when he had to leave his house for reasons beyond his control. Today was no exception.
Skool still hadn't let out for winter break which meant two more weeks of abuse, mental and physical, from the other students. Dib Membrane was the mo

Dib kept his in his mouth for about 45 seconds until he was sure he had passed the fever point. Then he spoke. "Is there any chance I can get something to take for my headache?" he asked, his words a bit distorted by the thermometer in his mouth.
The nurse nodded her head a bit. "I'll get you both a little something to take for your headaches. Just stay here and I'll be right back." she said before turning to leave them. As soon as

Policemen, he thought, trailing three bright balloons from the strings in his hand, were strange creatures. Always with big mirrored sunglasses, because their narrow eyes didnt make them look enough like great flesh-colored bugs. He could bet that as children they had never read the type of book where people were tied to train tracks.
He looked up at the balloons and grinned. Such good colors hed chosen. He knew the policemen, creased men with hard chins, would never be able to pick such beautiful colors. Blue, of course, and yellow. Sky and pain. Pain was yellow, he told himself happily. A bright color, explosive.
