Blender USS Federation by Ricky Wallace, this lightwave conversion by David A. Ledwith (me).

For private use only. As with all star trek materials commercial use is PROHIBITED.

Hope you have as much fun with this mesh as I had in converting it to lightwave. There were quite a few issues that had to be overcome before I was comfortable with the package enough to release it publically.
Its only polite that you credit the original creator of the mesh Ricky Wallace, wether or not you choose to credit me with the conversion I leave to you.
Just don't be claiming it as your own work - that would be the height of insult.

Star Truckin' across the universe... got that stupid tune from the 1980's stuck in my mind now. Anyway heres the lightwave conversion of yet another classic ship given the JJ treatment, the class 1 starship transport. Basically a towing vessel capable of towing any standardized module ranging from dry goods all the way through bulk liquids to starliner pods and being able to transform the humble tug into a variety of mission specific warcraft. I've personally come across versions of the pod done out to be shuttlecraft fighters and mobile hospitals. Its truly a versatile craft.

Anyway specifics: As with any Star Trek asset NO commercial use is allowed whatsoever.

I look forward though to seeing the kinds of art you can come up with this "Kenworth" of the star trek universe.

The Hurricane Class was a response to Starfleet's requirement for a modern and adaptable destroyer sized vessel. The project was approved in light of a recent combat evaluation of existing types in current service. The bulk of the UFP's destroyer and light cruiser combatants were aging types that needed to be replaced.

The success of the Constitution Class project assisted in the development of the Hurricane. The new design incorporated many design elements from the "Connie" in many ways. The streamlining of the hull, the powerful propulsion system and advanced weaponry were all patterned after the Constitution. As such, both classes complement each other, due to many commonalities in operating systems and internal hardware. With promising results in tests and trial runs, Starfleet has already commissioned Utopia Planitia to begin immediate construction of the first LRIP vessels.
