Where the Gospel ShinesWhy Homosexuality Is Not Like Other SinsWhere the Gospel Shines3 months ago in Personal More Like This
Written by Jonathan Parnell
Homosexuality is not the only sin mentioned in 1 Corinthians 6:9–10.
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
It’s not the only sin mentioned, but it is different from all the rest, at least right now. At this moment in history, contrary to the other sins listed here, homosexuality is celebrated by our larger society with pioneering excitement. It’s seen as a good thing, as the new hallmark of progress.
To be sure, the masses increasingly make no bones about sin in general. Innumerable people are idolaters, not to mention those who are sexually immo
Should Christians be tolerant?Should Christians be tolerant?Should Christians be tolerant?4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Today tolerance is being redefined to mean that all views are equally valid and all lifestyles equally appropriate. As such, the notion that Jesus is the only way is vilified as the epitome of intolerance. Rather than capitulating to culture, Christians must be equipped to expose the flaws of today's tolerance, while simultaneously exemplifying true tolerance.
First, to say all views are equally valid sounds tolerant but in reality is a contradiction in terms. If indeed all views are equally valid then the Christian view must be valid. The Christian view, however, holds that not all views are equally valid. Thus, the redefinition of tolerance in our culture is a self-refuting proposition. Moreover, we do not tolerate people with whom we agree; we tolerate people with whom we disagree. If all views were equally valid, there would be no need for tolerance.
Furthermore, today's redefinition of tolerance leaves no room for objective moral judgments. A modern

Pray for North KoreaPlease pray for North Korea.Pray for North Korea3 years ago in Personal More Like This
North Korea has just been on my mind a lot lately - no wonder too, what with all the war threats in the news.
I really hope that NK being in the news more will lead more Christians to pray more for change, an opening, a breakthrough... many people are suffering there, from hunger and oppression, Christians there are persecuted, and it's been like that for years.
So, please pray.
There's infos and prayer requests on this prayer blog: http://www.omf.org/omf/uk/asia/countries_omf_centres/korea/north_korea_prayer_blog
Please please pray. It might look like an impossible situation but God can change even the hardest of hearts and He is all-powerful. When we pray, God works. So please, let's all pray. Encourage your friends to pray too.
If I Was an Atheist, Would I Still be Against XFairly regularly I get the following question: "If you didn't believe the Bible, would you still think _____ is wrong?" I usually don't justify it with much of an answer because the question itself is flawed; even if the Bible was the only reason why I was opposed to something, that wouldn't make said thing any less wrong. But anyway, that's not the point of this journal. The point of this journal is that I'm bored and that question is actually interesting when not posed by an atheist trying to get me to abandon my faith. Which things am I opposed to only because the Bible condemns them, and which things am I opposed to for various reasons, only one of which is the Bible? I don't know, let's find out.If I Was an Atheist, Would I Still be Against X4 months ago in Personal More Like This

Check question 3 and 4.

I'll also leave out what is more his own (but brilliant still) ideas, instead of things clearly in the canon - since that's what this journal is for, exposing the canons that were left out in the game.
So as a few of you may know, I've been talking some with Jared Pullen, the lead concept artist for anB and tEN, and the designer of most of the characters, as I've been intending to commission

Then SOPA and PIPA have the power to effect you drastically. These bills will take away your freedom to use the internet and go to the websites you love.
As a protest of #SOPA and #PIPA (The Stop Online Piracy Act and Protect IP Act) two pieces of legislation that are up for debate once again on January 18, 2012, I will not be online.
This applies to everyone! Share this message as much as you can and don't allow your freedoms to be stolen away.
These bills are not dead. Even gigantic websites like Wikipedia and Tumblr are taking part. However, this doesn't mean that you shouldn't take part; this movement needs you.

A Weak Foundation Leads To Weak RelationshipsMany times we try to build relationships without the properA Weak Foundation Leads To Weak Relationships3 years ago in Personal More Like This

up investing everything into the construction of these
relationships, without the permits to do so. You see, God
had already surveyed the land of which you desired to build

bear no fruit. Regardless of even the blatant warnings,
we in our rebellious nature always "know best".
We deny all signs given that reinforced that building

there has been no return on the investment. Frustrated,
confused, weary, and simply baffled about what went wrong,
we fall into a deep depression. After all we did do
everything "right", didn't we?
We used quality materials when building, we invested as

The complaints people have about deviantART could fill a book the length of the Bible, but November is a month for remembering what we have to be thankful for and so I challenge you, Solutions Seekers, to take a look around and find at least three things about deviantART that make you thankful for the community.
Create a deviation or journal that explores at least three reasons you're thankful for deviantART. It can be anything from tutorials and other resources to friends you've made to great art you've stumbled across to a favorite group. Whatever it is that keeps you coming back, I want to know about it.

What is the Alliance, you ask?
The Alliance is a project group intended to encourage visual and literary artists to work together. I've felt for some time that the dA Literature Community can at times be somewhat insular - to its detriment. We in the Lit Community are also sometimes prone to griping about the lack of exposure our work receives when compared to that of visual artists. So in the spirit of ^thorns brilliant Complaint Challenge I thought I would try to do something about that. And so the Alliance was born!

Hello there friends
It's time for our next feature. The Poet Feature
Before we start, I have an announcment for all the beautiful Deviant Poets, all my dear friends and watchers, who are either poets or they enjoy poetry.
I have created a facebook page for the poets of DeviantArt. We will be sharing Poets profiles on this facebook page and their poetry, as links of course for their page. This way so many other poets on the page will have the chance to meet each other. This will help the unknown poets to have more support, more watchers, favs and feedback. The more membrs we have the more support the poet will get. It will be like a DD for the poet. If we have just 500 member, and we share a poet's profile, he will be seen by so many Deviants.
I hope you guys join our page. It's a big project and we need the support of every poet on DeviantArt. You will help us start

SixWordStories is the place where, alongside quality, quantity really does matter. Live for Jesus not for a religionYou say I am being religious but I don't have a religion, I have Jesus, He lives in me. You say I am being ridiculous but doesn't it sound like your being ridiculous for not believing in Jesus. You see me and say, "he has changed, he found religion" but I say thank you Jesus. God crushed religions, it is an abomination, we don't need a religion we need Jesus. Was Jesus being ridiculous when He died for our sins? Jesus didn't die for us to have a religion. He gave us life so He might dwell in us. Now if He wasn't ridiculous for dying for us and He didn't do it for a religion. Wouldn't you say living for Jesus and giving your life up for Him isn't ridiculous? If Jesus gave up His life for us then why would we think we are not called to do the same for Him. Love God seek His glory in Jesus, if we beleive in Him and the word of God to be true then where does it say live in Jesus but also keep doing things as the world would do? Now I am not saying to change, you can't but what I am sayingLive for Jesus not for a religion2 years ago in Personal More Like This

Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day Aug.1stSupporting Biblical ValuesChick-fil-A Appreciation Day Aug.1st3 years ago in Personal More Like This
This Wednesday (August 1st) is Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day! For those of you who haven't heard the news lately, Chick-fil-A is a Christian fastfood company in the United States that is based on Biblical values. They have been very successful and make a yummy chicken sandwich. Recently the CEO made a statement about the Biblical definition of marriage and as a result has become involved in a "Culture War". For more details here is a link to a news article I read this morning: http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Latest-News-Wires/2012/0727/Chick-fil-A-Culture-war-in-a-chicken-sandwich-video
As Christians it is important for us to support companies that have enough back bone to stand up for their Christian beliefs. As the CEO said himself, having the freedom to believe what we want is what makes America so great.
For those who support Chick-fil-A's stance on Biblical standards, this Wednesday is the day to show yo

Namely, what the hell was that last journal update about?
Well, a metric ton of snow came barreling the hell out of nowhere and buried everyone alive for a few days. Let me tell you, you don't know what cold is until you've had to go without heat and light for a few days. Everything appears to be going back to normal, slowly, but there are still a lot of people without power. I actually packed up and went to my parents place last night because I couldn't deal with another day with no electricity. Couldn't even play with my new toys on Christmas
That said, from the looks of things I'm back to normal, if behind on dA. I will probably get further behind because Pokemon Black/White 2, but I digress. Planning to see The Hobbit sometime next week with the movie gift card I got this year and spent last night watching Brave for the second time. I think it grew on me a little more the second viewing, but I still don't think it's Pixar's best.

So, I was in the shower, just taking a shower. And when I was lathering my hair with my green apple-scented shampoo, I started thinking about grace. It is Easter, after all, and Jesus did die today (or somewhere around this day) two thousand years ago (give or take some years) to save me and everyone who ever lived from sin and Death. And the best things always come to me when I'm either in the shower or right when I'm about to fall asleep.
Anyway, as I washed my hair and thought about grace, I couldn't help but also think about the way I think. My mindset on how I receive things has always been this: I do something, and then someone gives me something in return. I always feel that when someone gives something to me, that I'm obligated to doing or giving something to or for them in return. That's how it's always been for me. And I'm pretty sure that's how my mind w
