finally I managed to add the borders I did purposely for this small series :) I had to adjust it and, as always, time is never enough!

The first of the 3 illustrations of the fairytale "The Ugly Duckling" by Hans Christian Andersen.
It is the 1st in the chronological order of the tale, but the last I've finished...
I really hope you like it

9 x 7 inches, watercolor and colored ink

I do not recall where the idea for this piece came from, it just seemed like a good idea that a duck and snake would enjoy the day together.

I painted it with watercolors. Then for the linework I mixed my Dr. Martin inks for more variety of color. It was tedious, because it dries so fast! D: But I love the extra definition it gave the piece.
