And feature is finished I featured first 58 thumbs I think (new number of thumbs is 66)... OK...edit...now I posted even more thumbs, cuz I saw that I have even more older posts. Lol, I had some error and it didn't show me first page... oh, I got so many comments (almost 100), so I'm sorry that I can't feature them all (cuz of errors). But don't worry, I make this kind of journals every month, so you can try to post your thumbs next time.
I hope you like this feature and enjoy. Give these artists some love and fav, watch their work... you can even fav this journal, so more people will be able to see their work. Thank you

He was an old man, in his eighties. I barely even knew him, he was an acquaintance of my parents. One way or another, he found out that I suffer from CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome, for those who don't know). He also knew that I loved to cycle, and how I couldn't do it very often because of the disorder. One day he phoned us, telling he had an electric bicycle he didn't use anymore. He wanted me to have it. My father asked what the price would be. 'We'll figure that out', he said. So we met him, and I made a little test drive. I loved it. When we talked to him, it became more and more clear that he didn't want to sell it, he wanted to give it to me. He even paid for the repairs. There were some tears in his eyes when he handed the bicycle to me.
Never have I fully realised how much this gift actually ment. Not just because an electric bicycle is very expensive, also because it gave me so many opportunities. Without it,

White washingI have checked my white privilege. And I know that I simply cannot understand how it is to live as a black person.White washing1 year ago in Personal More Like This
But could we please stop with this witch hunt on people who simply doesn't KNOW how light reflects on darker skin?
Instead of bashing the artist and call hir "racist" and "ignorant", you could be polite and say that the skin on Korra is supposed to be darker, and maybe even be generous to link to a tutorial/reference to show how it could be improved.
And please consider things like stylization vs white washing before you judge the picture.
This artwork is for example not "white washing", it is colored stylization with a limited color palette:
I'm aware about how unfair this world is. But if we want to make it better, we shouldn't fight fire with fire; it will only make things worse.
People often doesn't know what they did wrong, especially novice artists who maybe doesn't have enough references about darker skin tones. Most of these artists never intended
My artwork and sharing it?Over time I have slowly changed my views about my artwork and how I protect it. If anyone has been watching me for the past year or so they would have seen my ranting journals about people using my art without my permission. I know people can get up in arms when their stuff is used off site whether its for commercial purposes or none-commercial purposes. I just want to say I no longer mind if my artwork is shared, edited and uploaded offsite. As long as no one uses it for commercial gain or claims they made it themselves I don't mind at all. I am not even asking for credit ( though I would appreciate it). I am just happy in the knowledge people think it is worth sharing if people enjoy it then that is more than good enough for me.My artwork and sharing it?1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I am also giving permission for anyone to copy, trace, reference my art and upload it here if they want, just don't save my own picture and re-upload it, there is little point having duplicates on DA. If you are going to put a traced/copied/referenced imag
About the Username Change and the Imeji CheinjiI never believed that name change would exist due to many valid reasons, but yet, they made it. Honestly, I've been wanting to change my name since long time. I'm in no ties or any desire with "Pearl" in any way which I named it when I was quite young. Also that name makes me sick sometimes- so a new name change is going to be a great, refreshing start.About the Username Change and the Imeji Cheinji1 year ago in Personal More Like This
So, yes I do plan to change name yet my icon will remain not changed to keep people to recognize me. And here I want to write a journal about being really careful, be smart and think twice if we decide to change name: to not cause that kind of trend where "Oh I got bored with that name, lemme change onto another" and making a'la Japan's trend of changes known as imeji cheinji.
Firstly, try to imagine, if there is artist (or active watcher, popular artist, active friend or even troller which you dislike etc.) which you admire is known under Crystallox2* (and you probably will notice how many people also call that person as "Crys"

For years, we've been getting requests from the community asking for the ability to change usernames. We realize that as an artist, it's important to give you the ability to change your personal brand, just as you change your interests, skills, and art types.
How It Works
Deviants can now change their username in their Settings. To change your username, you must have an active Premium Membership. (The reason there is a "fee" associated with the change is because switching usernames is a complex technical proce

The United States Congress is proposing two laws that address the problem of wide-scale unlicensed distribution on the Internet of motion pictures, songs, trademarked goods, and patented pharmaceuticals.
One of the proposals is called SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and would direct search engines in the United States to block Internet sites outside the United States that are primarily engaged in distributing unlicensed content.Another proposal called PIPA (Protect IP Act) would block websites located in the United States as well. The Obama administration is putting a stop to these proposals. It wants the Internet companies and the content companies to get together and come up with more functional and less destructive solutions.

So, how do you make a journal that’s worth sharing? Even if reaching a wider audience isn't your goal, these tips will help you get better feedback and spark more conversation, which is one of the best things about our vibrant community.

SOPA/PIPA/ACTA! Where's FREEDOM?!!Godammit... :iconfacepalmplz:SOPA/PIPA/ACTA! Where's FREEDOM?!!1 year ago in Personal More Like This
What the hell is wrong with some people creating so many absurd bills like SOPA/PIPA and now this ACTA? (that particularly is scaring the hell out of me) >_<
About Piracy I totally agree with Neil Gaiman in this Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Qkyt1wXNlI
If sharing means piracy, then each one of you that has ever lent a book, a DVD, a Game or something else from a friend ARE ALL PIRATES! The only difference from normal sharing is that internet makes it grow to a global scale.
Has SOPA been put down or delayed? Keep your eyes open, please. Governments tend to wait until people forget things to act freely again. Or even try to put the same bill up but with a different sponsor and name.
But that ACTA does REALLY take the cake in matter of being ABSURD!!!
The things I read about it made me really pissed of. I see it more like a way the Governments will make use of to NOT LET THE COMMONERS LIKE US TO H

(Please note, I'm not necessarily talking about deviantart's critique system, though this certainly applies to it. I'm talking about all feedback, whether in comments or notes, in person, or on another site. Deviantart simply has a good format for others to leave feedback to an artist.)
In art school, you tend two get two different types of young artists: people who are infatuated with their work, and people who have no confidence in it at all. But really, it all boils down to the same thing: as artists, we are incredibly reliant on other people's judgement of our work for our self-esteem. It sounds a bit stupid, but I don't know that I've talked to any serious business artists who say otherwise (though if you do, please tell me). Artists often view their work as an extension of themselves, or their soul, poured out on paper. We seek other people's approval, b
Regarding SOPA and deviantART (update)Our view at deviantART regarding SOPA is that it's probably a bad idea. There should be better ways to deal with mass infringement on the Internet than this. This bill in our view can be seen as a threat to the open Internet itself and this is very hard to digest or support.Regarding SOPA and deviantART (update)2 years ago in deviantART Blog More Like This

Homestuck? More like homeSUCK. (An elaboration)At the risk of my watchers looking down on me, I've decided to express my distaste for homestuck.Homestuck? More like homeSUCK. (An elaboration)2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It seems like everyone either, 1) Likes the fandom (art) of homestuck, but doesn't actually like homestuck itself, OR 2) Likes homestuck but can't stand the fandom surrounding it.
I, personally, don't appreciate either.
I find homestuck to be an incredibly mediocre...webcomic? that got really really blown up for whatever reason and now I cannot escape it. It's everywhere online. The overhype is oozing into every crevice of the internet like a mildly warm combination of masturbation-sweat and zit-puss. All of the fanart is blending together into one big clusterfuck of grey skin and candy corn.
The argument that's always presented to anyone that dislikes it is "WELL, KEEP READING, IT GETS BETTER".
I'm sorry, but if I've been sitting here reading something for as long as it could have taken for me to watch an entire movie and I'm still bored as all hell:
IT'S NOT A GOOD STORY.

One day, *humon was surfing the internet.
She was just looking at her favorite pages when all of a sudden a new tab opened up.
She was confused, since she didn't click on any link whatsoever. The tab didn't show anything, just a white screen. When she tried to close the tab, nothing happened. She kept pressing the X to close it, but instead the tab turned to full size. Suddenly, the white screen of the tab turned completely black.
It wasn't only the tab screen that turned black, all the button and everything else on her screen did the same.
Even her mouse disappeared off the screen.
After a little while, she decided to turn her computer off because she simply thought it was broken.
This was a fatal mistake.
Out of nowhere, a full screen picture of :iconcaptainfanclub: appeared on the black screen.
It was most unexpected.

Why I disagree with Kony 2012Many on here and on Facebook have messaged me about the Kony 2012 movie. It's very well-made and definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it yet.Why I disagree with Kony 20121 year ago in World Events More Like This
Kony is a terrible criminal, and I am very much for bringing him to justice. However, I do not share the enthusiasm of the overwhelming majority about the movie and the proposals put forward by the makers. Here are ten criticisms I came up with, in no particular order.
1) If something is being hyped up all around you, this is a strong signal to think for yourself. Be especially suspicious when someone wants to use FORCE to do GOOD. Paradoxically, if you REALLY care - don't fall for appeal to emotion, as is being done here. Consider the implications and outcomes, rather than the motives. Don't let the public opinion shape yours, let the facts do so. Don't let one issue overshadow other issues which could be more important. Don't be afraid to disagree with the majority. Truth i
Coming OutIt's true, I am Chinese and I was born this way.Coming Out1 year ago in Personal More Like This
At a young age I began to notice this difference. I was attracted to neither boys nor girls. In middle school, I liked math, and in college, I did my homework all night long.
Being Chinese is not a choice, it is genetic. There are risks to being Chinese because society cannot accept the union between a human and a textbook. I have Chinese friends who didn't need sex because they could foreplay instruments and get screwed by O Chem instead. Now, they don't have a social life and are shunned by others.
But fear not, life will get better. I grew up as a Chinese and I am proud of it (just look at my tumblr user name Maid-en-China ). There is the LGBTC (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Chinese) community to help you be comfortable with your Chinese orientation.
