He was an old man, in his eighties. I barely even knew him, he was an acquaintance of my parents. One way or another, he found out that I suffer from CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome, for those who don't know). He also knew that I loved to cycle, and how I couldn't do it very often because of the disorder. One day he phoned us, telling he had an electric bicycle he didn't use anymore. He wanted me to have it. My father asked what the price would be. 'We'll figure that out', he said. So we met him, and I made a little test drive. I loved it. When we talked to him, it became more and more clear that he didn't want to sell it, he wanted to give it to me. He even paid for the repairs. There were some tears in his eyes when he handed the bicycle to me.
Never have I fully realised how much this gift actually ment. Not just because an electric bicycle is very expensive, also because it gave me so many opportunities. Without it,

What is this contest about?
Its about taking random voice tracks from random people creating a random epic scene that I will animate with the winners.
Rules
- POST Your entry in this journal!
- Keep them short.(short clips are much more likely to be chosen)
- Upload the track to Sta.sh ( for orders sake, or any other easy downloadable place that does not require lots of work )
- Make sure Ill be able to listen to it without having to download it onto my computer first.
- You can record your voice any way you want.
- It has to be your voice. ( you can edit it if you really want to )
- Include a picture of the character you have that will have the voice in the comment when entering.

But could we please stop with this witch hunt on people who simply doesn't KNOW how light reflects on darker skin?
Instead of bashing the artist and call hir "racist" and "ignorant", you could be polite and say that the skin on Korra is supposed to be darker, and maybe even be generous to link to a tutorial/reference to show how it could be improved.
And please consider things like stylization vs white washing before you judge the picture.
This artwork is for example not "white washing", it is colored stylization with a limited color palette:
I'm aware about how unfair this world is. But if we want to make it better, we shouldn't fight fire with fire; it will only make things worse.

My artwork and sharing it?Over time I have slowly changed my views about my artwork and how I protect it. If anyone has been watching me for the past year or so they would have seen my ranting journals about people using my art without my permission. It seems like everyone either, 1) Likes the fandom (art) of homestuck, but doesn't actually like homestuck itself, OR 2) Likes homestuck but can't stand the fandom surrounding it.
I, personally, don't appreciate either.
I find homestuck to be an incredibly mediocre...webcomic? that got really really blown up for whatever reason and now I cannot escape it. It's everywhere online. The overhype is oozing into every crevice of the internet like a mildly warm combination of masturbation-sweat and zit-puss. All of the fanart is blending together into one big clusterfuck of grey skin and candy corn.
The argument that's always presented to anyone that dislikes it is "WELL, KEEP READING, IT GETS BETTER".

One day, *humon was surfing the internet.
She was just looking at her favorite pages when all of a sudden a new tab opened up.
She was confused, since she didn't click on any link whatsoever. The tab didn't show anything, just a white screen. When she tried to close the tab, nothing happened. She kept pressing the X to close it, but instead the tab turned to full size. Suddenly, the white screen of the tab turned completely black.
It wasn't only the tab screen that turned black, all the button and everything else on her screen did the same.
Even her mouse disappeared off the screen.
After a little while, she decided to turn her computer off because she simply thought it was broken.
This was a fatal mistake.
Out of nowhere, a full screen picture of :iconcaptainfanclub: appeared on the black screen.

At a young age I began to notice this difference. I was attracted to neither boys nor girls. In middle school, I liked math, and in college, I did my homework all night long.
Being Chinese is not a choice, it is genetic. There are risks to being Chinese because society cannot accept the union between a human and a textbook. I have Chinese friends who didn't need sex because they could foreplay instruments and get screwed by O Chem instead. Now, they don't have a social life and are shunned by others.
But fear not, life will get better. I grew up as a Chinese and I am proud of it (just look at my tumblr user name Maid-en-China ). There is the LGBTC (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Chinese) community to help you be comfortable with your Chinese orientation.
