Despite living with one of the city's most well-educated nurses, Valentin was no medical expert, and so instead of checking the woman's vitals, or getting her to the nearest facility, he knelt by where he'd unceremoniously dumped her on a white-plastic park bench, and gently shook her shoulders, with a too-innocent-sounding, "Hey, wake up!" over and over.
By some miracle, or the woman's concussion not being as potent as it could've been, her black eyelashes fluttered after perhaps ten mintues of Val's naive regime, and she stared at him with almost-white eyes.
