This is a scene from Nutbunnies wonderful and sad story where Homer have cancer and going to die from Marge and the kids. This is where Marge is giving Homer her goodbye and are sitting by his bed to the very end.
It is just a amazing story so read it --> [link] (This is just a little bit of the story this drawing are from.)
It was late at night 9 o`clock, when Grandpa is visiting his son Homer and his grandkids. Bart, Lisa and Maggie was so happy that their grandpa showed up, it had been a long time. He was such a great grandpa
"Bart and Lisa: Grandpa!!" "Abraham: Hey kids!" Homer who had locked up the door, watched them in the hallway. Abe sat down in the sofa while he lifted Lisa to his limp and Bart sat close into him on the other side. Maggie who had stood by Homer feet got a big smile on her face and fallowed Abe, Bart and Lisa. But she wasn`t tall enough to reach up to the sofa and gave her father a sad look. Homer couldn`t resist the face and smile while laughed a little. He then walked up to her and lifted her up to lay over the sofaback. She seemed fine there so Homer didn`t mind. She had falled down some times but didn`t have any damages so he just made her lay there. Marge was in the kitchen and heard the noise and came out. "Marge: What`s going on?" "Homer: My dad came for a visit. I think the kids is happy." Marge who saw them now got a smile on her face. "Marge: Yeah I think they are." Homer layed a arm around his wifes shoulder and smiled as well. "Bart: Grandpa, can you tell us a story?" "Abe: Of course. It was 1942 and the soldiers was coming from...." "Homer: Not to long kids, it`s nearly bedtime." "Bart and Lisa: Okay, daddy!"
Someone asked me if I could draw Lisa to and here it is:
This is how Lisa would grief over her dead brother. Sitting in the treehouse with a picture of Bart, candle and a rose. This was so hard for her. She had never felt more alone then now. This was in the late evening when the darkness had come to Springfield. It was close to bedtime but she couldn`t sleep. She would, as the last respect for her brother, sit in his treehouse. The treehouse her brother had been in so many times.
Homer and Marge giving them a bath after they have played outside for a while Bart is here 5 years and Lisa 3. Bart thought it was strange to take a bath with his sister since he was a big boy now. Bart: "Dad! I don`t wanna take a bath with Lisa, I`m a big boy now." Homer: "Son, she is looking up to you. Be an good example to her." Bart: "Yeah, but.... Okey, then. He smiles. Homer: "That`s my boy!" Marge is just smiling to Bart and Homer.
I guess the only logical way this would ever happen is in my own delusional little dreamworld. I just really wanted to draw something showing the seldom-seen tender, loving side of Bob, and I substituted Maggie for his son Gino for numerous reasons.
1. We're all far more familiar with Maggie than Gino, and can therefore relate to her presence better.
2. I was never happy with the fact that Bob got married and had a kid. Dunno why.
3. Nothing against Gino, but he just doesn't capture my heart the way Maggie always has.
4. I think there's something more touching about a man showing affection for a child, especially one that's not his own.
Homer was at work when he heard on the TV while eating donuts in the cafeteria that it at been a accident on Springfield bridge. It was a orange car and a truck front to front. The car was upsidedown and totally crashed. Homer didn`t reconize the car right away but Lenny did. Then Homer saw it. His wife carried out of the car and ambulances, firemen and police was coming from all roads. Homer got so sceard and shocked! His family had been in a caraccident! Oh my god! He had to save them! He left work right away and headed to the bridge. But it wasn`t impossible to come near the bridge, but suddenly he heard a ambulanse near where he standed. He fallowed the ambulance to the hospital. Marge were carried out of the ambulance. Homer thought the worst, she didn`t response. But where were his kids!? More ambulances was coming with them in a hurry. Carried them in one by one. He met dr. Hibbert in the hallway. It was him who was going to care for them. Homer grabbed him on the shoulder nervously and scared for is family. With tears in his eyes he asked how the condition was with them. "I don`t know, Mr Simpson. We will do everything we can to save them." He left with a rush lefing Homer alone in the hallway.
After this is where the story starts. Homer hearing Kent Brockmans voice in his head of what he said. Unknowing that it was his family. Just sitting down in one of the chairs and praying that they will survive. He began to shake and got hysterical moves. Tears forming his eyes and rolling down his cheeks. If they dies it is his fault.
Homer and Marge as a young couple waiting for their little son They were home at Marges house and where taking a bath togheter to soothing the baby. It wasn`t long for Bart to come and Marge had a lot of cramps so the water was the best cure because of the warmth. They had music on and candles on the bathtubside. One day when Homer had been on work all day he went to Marges home, Marges sisters and parents wasn`t home and Homer was going to sleep over at Marges house. They were engaged to be married and they was going to have the sermony in one week. Both of them was so ecxited for the future togheter. Marge loved Homer so much and when she told him she was pregnant she thought he would leave her for someone else. But he didn`t. It was noone like Marge and he loved her to death ever since he first time he saw her.
So this is a request from NutBunnies I had a deal with her to draw any scene I wanted to from her story: Love Thy Neighbor. A beautiful story of Homer who is dying of cancer. Very sad, but so emotionel and beautiful In this drawing Homer has died and Lisa dreams of him one night. She meet him again in heaven and they swin togheter in the lake Homer is taking Lisa. I drawed Homer as a young man again, because the writer has said that when you go to heaven you go back to the best shape you was. And that for Homer was 1 year before Bart was born. When he had hair and was much more thinner. Lisa didn`t regonize him right away, but she understanded it was him because of his eyes. So cute!
And I have to say: Don`t worry, Lisa is not dead!
Here is 2 other draings I have drawed from the same story: [link] and [link]
Homer and Marge celebrating their wedding with family and friends. This is after the "I do" part and the weddingcake was ready to cut. Homer and Marge cut out a slice togheter and both of them took some canke on eachother faces and kissed it of. Behind their familys are standing watching and are happy for them. Patty, the one with round hair, is a little misty eye and jelouse of marge to get married. But not to marrying Homer. She hoped to be the first one to do it since she is 2 minutes older then Selma.
Homers dad and Marges parents were so happy and teard up to see their kids getting married and be husband and wife for the rest of their lifes. They looked so happy togheter
Now it was going to be them until death do them part
Marge visiting Bart`s gravesite. This was a place Homer and Marge choose to have their son since this was a place they had spend a lot togheter as a family before Lisa and Maggie was born. Marge visit his gravesite 3 times a week and often she just left without telling Homer and the kids first. Homer understanded right away where she was and would often find her crying by his gravesite while she was thouching the words "son" on the grave. Marge was feeling so guilty and she knew that the feeling would never go away. Though Homer was comforting her and saying that it was nothing they could to the accident day, she still felt she could get something done with Sideshow Bob before that day. But now it was to late. She had been sitting there on her knees 30 minutes when she heard a car stop 50 meters behind her. She knew it was Homer and some seconds later she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Marge?" She turned around and saw his concerned face. She stood up and just leaned into Homers chest while her tears slowly felt down her cheeks. Homer stroke her on her back while holding around her. Homer was looking over Marges shoulder and looked at his sons gravesite. He felt a terrible pain to realise that this was the place to visit his son. They stood there for some minutes before Homer took Marges hand a leaded her to his car.
By the tree Bart was watching his parents, never realised that they would be so sad when he died. But he was sad to, he didn`t want to die like this.
