DWD- Thanksgiving Entry His head was pounding, his nostrils leaking, and his limbs were heavy. He curled up under his blankets blocking out the daylight that he was sure was only bothering him. He hated being sick. No, he loathed it. How was he expected to get anything done when he had to constantly blow his nose and suck down cold medicine every several hours? He wasn't, was the correct answer. But how could he just lay there and let chaos reign?! Actually there was not a single drop of malice in the city at the moment and the only reign present was that on the Duckland department store's Christmas display that included a sleigh and a gaggle of reindeer. Each had reigns and bells, so technically there were nine reigns, one highly polished red sled, one plump fat man in velvet with a beard, and a growing number of children waiting in line to see him. But of course, this was not what Drake Mallard thought of. His oveDWD- Thanksgiving Entry9 years ago in General Fiction More Like This

Whispers pause to ask 'Who'?
If you know the rules you'll see they're only tools

They all follow blindly that dazzling cord
Lock pick magistracy, framed decency
The geometry of sacrifice hilts the logic of mercy
Caged instead of flesh is the honest reflection of self
Shadows dance when a Good Man goes to war
Fear will surge over a last chance when a Good Man goes to war
Chaos's spiral gate, with it's maw agape,
Calls on friends of old to face their fate when a Good Man goes to war
But blink and it's all for naught as always athwart is what was sought
Out from the final tower's lonely bell
Toll the moans of living hell
Lost is the moon, lost is the tomb
Blackened claws pluck fire from the womb
Reaching out across the stars, as war that crackles only far
From candle to cradle burnt out
This child is stolen, so without a doubt

Scribbling across the page my pencil burns
Deep into the paper; the smell of smoke
Signals the creative fire
Raging within my mind.
Flames lick across the rampaging lines,
Scorching the letters into permanent
Semblances of being.
Words takes shape,
Large and feral, as I cry in the pain, the
Strength of emotion,
And the primal need to translate
Feel the ecstasy and relief,
The catharsis in these words as they
Tumble onto the page, baring souls to a level
We never knew existed.
For here we are free, in the paper we are alone.
The chains which hold our minds in place are lost;
The pencil flies unfettered across the page.
I am drunk on freedom and dashing headlong
For the finish line, the end of the page, when,
On a whim, crazy and wild,
I send the train of thought
Careening off the tracks; it crashes,
Violently, into the nearest solid object.
Stone walls crumble, Zeus's Thunder snaps,
The heavens awaken.
Chains are broken; prisoners flee

In a hill, breeze flew the fallen leaves away from the Earth, as if to erase the evidence of the autumn. Yellowed trees tried to hold the last of their lives before fell asleep under the blanket of snow. The chill of the winter crept slowly, casted out the very little warmth that the summer had left behind. Grey clouds adorned the sky hiding the sun behind. And in the center of all that, a lone figure stood in front of an equally lone tombstone.
Draco Malfoy brushed his pale hand on the top of the stone. He stared at the beautiful calligraphy crafted on the stone, as he always did in this time of the years. Here rest Harry Potter, the calligraphy said, Born July, 31 1980. Died October, 31 1998. The Selfless Hero, Loyal Friend, and Loving Husband. And like all those four years, tears filled Draco's eyes at the sight of the lone tombstone. He fell to his knees as the sobs began to pour from his pale lips. His shoulder shook as the pain once again escaped from his wounde

"Mr. Malfoy, we were told originally that Mr. Potter was dead, I'm glad to see that it was nothing more than a rumor." Dumbledore says, even though I know he had already figured out that Harry was, well almost, far from death.
"Who told you that Headmaster?"
"Mr. Ron Weasley. He came barging into my office telling me that Potter had died in an attack." Snape says, he sounds like he was actually happy to see Harry had finally lost a battle, but at the same time he also had some relief in his eyes, probably because Harry was still alive.

He felt so lonely without Ron or Hermione considering their always together it's not really surprising that they would bother to notice how he was feeling. Alone. Abandoned. Depressed. So many emotions were raging his body that it was hard to just focus on one. He raised his arm over his head and rolled back the sleeve of his shirt to look at the now fading scars. They were the only evidence that people could see that would show that he was broken.
Was he broken? It was a question that Harry asked himself often enough. He wanted to believe that he wasn't but the scars had to argue otherwise. He was almost too busy staring at the scars on his wrist to hear to door click open but luckily he heard and pulled down his sleeve fast enough so that Ron wouldn't see what he was so desperately trying to hide.
"Hey Ron." He tried to sound at least a little cheerful but

"I want to go by myself," Draco announced to his parents. It was his eleventh birthday, which was a very important day. He had gotten his letter from Hogwarts at breakfast, which, even though it was expected, had made him deliriously happy. Now all three Malfoys were headed to Diagon Alley, for ice cream at Fortescue's and to pick out an owl to send to Hogwarts with Draco. Lucius and Narcissa were just about to step into the drawing room fireplace when Draco got up on his tiptoes and grabbed his own handful of Floo powder.
"I suppose," his mother said. "Don't forget to speak very clearly, dear."
"I know, I know," he replied impatiently as he stepped in, carefully avoiding the andirons. "Diago-CHOO!" He was surprised by an explosive sneeze just as he threw the powder at his feet.
Dozens of rooms flashed by rapidly. Draco's trip through the Floo network ended with him

So, since the beginning of the Quidditch season in his seventh year, he had been working himself like crazy. He spent his time on his broom more than he did on his homework. He knew it was crazy, what would his father say? But this year was his last chance to steal the snitch from under the Golden Boy's nose. And he really didn't care

Amazing. There was no lesser word for him. Everything about him was graceful. Blood from aristocrats and a great upbringing making him no less. Amazing, for no other word described him any better than that one. A wry grin touched my lips as I watched him sleeping, pale hair spread out over the crimson pillow, mouth slightly parted and disturbing the hairs next to him, while pale lashes cast shadows over his cheekbones. I grinned and reached forward to lightly touch my fingertips to his left cheek, skating them all over his face. The only reaction he gave was to sigh. It was amazing.
Beautiful. He was, by far the most beautiful man I have ever seen. Seeing him nursing his coffee made me smile lopsidedly. The trees rustled around Harry as he stared up into the lush blue sky. The warmth of the sunlight was like a blanket wrapped around him as Harry lay in the grass, dreaming the dreams of his very own, yet strange, world. Draco walked jauntily down the street, his shopping basket swinging on his arm. He had all the makings for a perfect romantic dinner: oysters, champagne, and strawberries with chocolate for dipping. Draco and Harry had been dating for a couple of months now, and yesterday Harry had proposed becoming a couple. Draco, helpless before the Chosen One's good looks, had readily agreed. Harry was coming over to Draco's place tonight, and Draco was sure that Harry'd be spending the night. Draco started feeling warm all over as he imagined what else they could do with the chocolate besides dunk strawberries in it.
His eye was caught by a glimpse of Harry through the window of a fancy restaurant. Harry was sitting across from Ginny Weasley, she of the copper hair. Harry pulled a little black box out of his suit jacket and held it toward her, flipping

What am I doing here?
Durias shifted in his seat as he looked around the small eatery, uncomfortable because he sat cramped in a booth so close to his younger brother.
It was their second day in the strange realm from which Mias had taken Elle, and still Aurelius hadn’t managed to find a young lady that held his interest for more then a passing glance or a bit of flirting.
Durias on the other hand, was content to stand by the wayside, for he had no interest nor desire to find for himself what Mias had found with Elle--because unlike his young brother, Durias knew that true love was a myth.
He hadn’t always been such a cynical bastard, but after what had happened with Angelique and Elias, Durias knew that he would never be able to trust a woman with his heart again.
Bitterness and sorrow were all he knew now--which was fine with him. As the leader of a vast army, there could be no room in his heart for anything as trivial as the idea of love. He

I am stronger than many take me for
I have been beaten to the ground
But I'm far more resilient than most make me sound
I have been violated
Yet I keep myself from being jaded
I have been hurt
I still have the scars from when they cut through my shirt
I fight back my nightmares
I know it wasn't my fault
But it's sometimes difficult
to trust others as result
Yet I pull through
I may not tell you
But there are ways to cope
The pain will eventually go away
And I will keep hoping for that day
I will not hold a grudge
I will not budge
And I will help others prevent
Many will bash me
throw me to the ground
But I'll always get up

The ribs, are the easiest to start with, of course. they take so little pressure. A foot on the ribcage and the lungs are crushed, a moment of weak pain, the breathing...stinted. More pressure, and the oxygen levels decrease, the eyes dim, the lungs burn in longing... and the heaviness on the chest becomes so... unbearable. Bone grates against panting organs and then as weakness overcomes the body there comes the irresistable snap, muffled under layers of tissue. Searing pain as muscle parts from melded bone, the quiet muscular rip, and then the weight is lifted.
A constant struggle for air, sharp bone jammed against shallow, pounding flesh, the mind, desperate for sleep, dare not. Left in a constant state of daze, pain... and breath, are all that matters.
Pain receptors in the human body are surprisingly... resilient. The flicker of a candle across the back

Joesph was... Well, to put it easily, he was a manly man. Not necessarily 'I'm-into-cars-and-bikinis-and-drink-beer' type of man, but he didn't like to show any sort of feminine emotions, like crying or caring, and usually liked to talk down on a lot of things. Not in a bad way, no, it was just a simple, robotic response that he always blurted out when he thought something was not of his taste: "That's too girly."
Everything he saw that deemed 'too girly' was immediately criticized by the dreadful statement. Why dreadful is used was because his sister, as well as his friends and even his mom, was sick and tired of hearing that statement. He would pass by something bright and colorful, like cotton candy, and say, "Hmm... Too girly for me." He would see a brightly colored soda cup and blurt, "A little too girly.". Even cartoons that he used to watch was 'too girly'! Nothing satisfied his taste.
