Vampires - Chapter 1The sky was growing paler, the stars fading. Dawn was nearly upon the countryside. Vanadis pushed forward through the trees, running hard. He had to get back home before the sun rose; had to get back to the sweet darkness of his familys ancestral chateau. Sweat dripped down his face despite the mornings chill. The first pink appeared at the horizon. He had to make it home. He ran, his boots crunching over the leaf litter. His hair hung loose, limp with sweat. He wasnt going to make it . Panic was beginning to set in. The suns rays were beginning to peek through the trees. He was going to burn, burn and die in the sun. The sun, deadly to his kind. He had to find a cave, a shelter, something. Anything. He drove blindly on, down towards the river. The river was his best chance at survival. He had to transform. VampiresIf it hadn't been for the blood matted in her hair, I would have noticed Jane's eyes first. They had lost their former blue coloring and were now fully dialated black pools. I shifted my flashlight to get a better view, seeing more blood dripping down from a gash on her forhead. She groaned as the light hit her and curled up defensivly, eyes tightly shut. "Get...rid of...the...light..." she moaned, voice sounding thick and muffled. "Jane, what is it? Jane? Jane!" In a panic I dropped my light and dropped down beside her. With the light gone, she looked at me, the dark twisting her features into something inhuman. I then realized that it was because she wasn't, and she snarled to reveal pointed teeth. Vampires vs. WerewolvesIt started very simply, many, many years ago. Our race, the vampire, created the werewolf as an ally in the Great Wars. A brilliant scientist theorized that the with bond between man and beast, internally, the result would be the greatest warrior. Combined with the vampire blood infused into them, they would be the most deadly creatures ever to walk the earth. And so, the werewolf was born on the full moon. The intrinsic magic of the moon eased the pain of turning in humans, otherwise we would've lost many more. But young werewolves are unpredictable and hard to control. They became feral, running through towns all over our world, killing innocents, breeding more and more of their kind.
