I finished my new wig. It took about two hours to cut and style but I absolutely adore the level of volume I was able to put into the bangs. The layers also turned out quite well (at least I think so). This would gave to be my favorite shot. Just because you can see the layers and the volume in the bangs. Finishing the wig makes me want to cosplay Rangiku again!
Thank you everyone for all the favorites, comments, and views on my Matsumoto cosplay. I can't even begin to thank you for everything!
The first of the photos I got of my newest Matsumoto costume (Yes, for some reason I can't quit her). It is the same version as seen in the 10th Bleach Opening: Scandal by Shōjo S. [link]
This photo is with my newest wig. I ended up switching back to my other one about 30 minutes in because I really just like it more than this one. I have more photos of the other wig I'll post at another time.

---costume life story--- Anyway, I needed a formal dress to wear while in cosplay. I couldn't think of anything until almost a week before the convention. Red Dress Matsumoto from the chapter break would work perfect, since well...I already had the wig! I wanted to purchase a dress pre-made and not make one but being as I am, I ended up making it and spending a lot of time on it. I sewed in a full lining and thankfully that made the dress really comfortable.
This picture was taken at Katsucon 2008 on Sunday where I wore it to obtain some more pictures.
Mizune the mouse witch from Soul Eater transformed (5x Mouse form). Manga version from Chapter 18.
I had a lot of fun making and even more fun wearing this costume. The most challenging part being the top...which after playing with wire, interfacing and fabric I perfected.
After that I would say my hat, which thanks to the help of Toneriko I was able to finish with few set backs! -Yay- Wire! They eyes are foam that I painted. I went with black for the eye color since in the manga, unlike the anime, the eyes didn't look the same color as her hair.
All the stripes were made and then sewn to the various parts. I counted them various times in the reference pictures to make sure I had them lined up correctly and the right amount. I spent a lot of time referring back to references on this costume. I also finished the ends of all the strips since I noticed hers fell below the basic fabric. So, naturally...I had to add it.
The feet were made of foam and knit socks...which I sewed teddy bear style.
I first wore this at Megacon 2009. Photo by LJinto - Blair - Mizune
Listen to teacher! Matsumoto should be a School teacher...I could see her as the cool 3rd grade teacher you never forget. maybe it's the glasses...but it's the feeling I get from this photo, not student but teacher.
