A Sight for Really Sore EyesSweet Apple Acres was cool this time of year and as usual Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash were in a pranking mood. Normally, they would aim for Applejack, but this time they were targeting her older brother Big Macintosh. They had set a surprise for him on a path they knew he would take eventually. The prank was that once he hit a tripwire they had set up a pulled back branch would be released and hit him in the chest. For Pinkie and Rainbow it was set at face level, but Big Mac was taller not to mention that his yoke would protect him so he was not in danger. They only wanted to surprise or scare the quiet stallion. What happened was still a surprise but was not fun.A Sight for Really Sore Eyes4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

The clean, cool stream just off the edge of Sweet Apple Acres washed away the troubles of the day. Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo had had an exhausting set of adventures and the refreshing dip was just what they needed. The clear waters washed away the heat and the sweat, and the tree sap, of another long day of play. The Cutie Mark Crusaders had gotten an early start, terrorizing no fewer than a dozen ponies before noon. Their efforts had been unsuccessful, but enjoyable. Scootaloo's stomach rumbled, and her friends' stomachs soon followed. They hadn't eaten the 'food' they had made around lunch time. Silently, the three of them nodded to each other and understood it was time to get something in their bellies.
"Hi girls! What can I get for you? Do you need cookies? Cake? Cupcakes?"
Start Spreading the NewsFluttershy was sleeping soundly unaware that she was being watched. It had only been a week since her accident that resulted in her accidentally confessing her feelings to Pinkie while she stood outside Fluttershy's bedroom door. As the first rays of sunlight shone through her window waking her, she stretched and smiled warmly as, for the last seven days, her first sight was the same as when those bandages were removed. On her nightstand was a picture frame, and inside it was the note Pinkie Pie had written telling her that she loved her as well. With a smile on her still sleepy face, "I love you, Pinkie." A small squeak escaped her with what she heard next.Start Spreading the News4 years ago in Romance More Like This
"I love you too, Fluttershy." Pinkie smiled as the yellow pegasus spun around, became tangled within the blanket, and tumbled over the side.
Fluttershy was on her back with her hind legs on the bed and looking up to the ceiling. She smiled softly when Pinkie's head looked over the edge.

Rarity paid no mind to the silly gossip-mongering of fishwives, having long given up the fillyish fantasies of a storybook wedding. So she was quite surprised when Prince Blueblood himself strolled into her little shop.
"Ah! Such rich textiles for so humble an establishment," the prince crooned, modeling a new cape for himself in the full-length mirror. He spared a moment to appraise Rarity as well in a manner she did not entirely appreciate. "Indeed, true finery may be found in the most unlikely of places."
"I am honored by your regard, Your Majesty," the seamstress said with appropriate humility.
"Guards!" Blueblood called to his entourage. A pair of lar

I don't remember how long I lay there, slumped in the chair, face down, tears dripping onto the wooden top of the dresser. I think I must have cried myself asleep for the next thing I knew I could hear a most peculiar noise.
It sounded like someone eating quickly and messily.

Wait I was dreaming, right? I still had my eyes closed, so it could be a dream one of those drunk, overheated, feverish dreams I often had after a few too many drinks. Twilight tilted her head, "Why?"
"You know how timid the little creature can be. Just imagine the amount of stress she'll be under on a date." Rarity waved a hoof in front of her face, "No. I will not allow my dear friend to suffer any stress. She will be worried enough on making a good impression on Pinkie."

It had been a few weeks since her return from Manehattan, and while she had been excited to be home, and to have her new cutie mark, she was having trouble readjusting to school. While it was true she never truly caught on to the sophisticated ways of Manehattan, she had forgotten how to simply relax around others and ‘make friends’, this fact made only harder by dirty rumors thrown about that she was some hoity toity pony pretending to be a bumpkin to get attention, but her strange mannerisms weren’t her fault, the entire situation just felt... ‘funny’. It was as if everything was against her, having her relearn how to live and act not once, but twice, and having everypony look down on her while she struggled to catch up.
Everything just felt ‘funny’, like she was trying to learn how to swim in jello.

Worth Suffering ForThe night air was brisk to say the least, and Rarity would have much preferred to be inside and out of the harsh chill. It definitely wasn't something she delighted in. Harsher still, though, was the expression on Sweetie Belle's face, and the glare with which she had looked at Rarity after her failed attempt to reconcile. Rarity watched, shocked, as Applebloom and Sweetie Belle walked away, their forms receding from the campfire and fading into the darkness of the woods. Celestia's sun shined bright over Sweet Apple Acres. The morning rays glistened off of the still fresh dew spritzed about the trees as many ponies diligently worked the fields, bucking the ripe crop from their branches.

In all of New Ponyville, there were 45 time-telling devices. Of these 45, exactly 26 were watches. Of the remaining 19, six were grandfather clocks. Of those six, there was, of necessity, one largest clock. And as the largest clock, it naturally had the loudest tick. Furthermore, as would befit a leader, this clock was located in Rarity's bedroom.
The largest clock with the loudest tick was currently in very real danger of being smashed to silent pieces by Rainbow Dash. The only thing stopping her was that in order to break the infernal device, Rainbow Dash would have to take her eyes off the bed.
Not even for a second, she reminded herself again. She looked stoically at the two unicorns lying on top on the purple covers, each resting peacefully on their back. The clock ticked away the seconds as Dash sat in the backwards chair, her chin resting on the back of it. In the otherwise silent room, the sound was maddening. Given the additional circumstances of her friends, it was do
