Doctor Who / Pokemon Theory MUST READ!!!Don't look at me like I'm mad (I am but that's not the point), this is a really cool theory, bear with me!Doctor Who / Pokemon Theory MUST READ!!!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I was thinking today, regeneration in Doctor Who and evolution in Pokemon are almost exactly the same process. They both involving a glowing light, that spreads over and through the body of the organism and moulds it into the new form, they both occur normally after physical strain from a battle or injury, and they both involve a slight change of physical form and personality, but memories stay intact. So perhaps, just maybe, pokemon are related to time lords. So, here's the crazy bit: What if pokemon where the creatures of Gallifrey, and a time lord, during the time war, used a portal in the multiverse to move them to the pokemon world, in order to save them from the upcoming death of their planet. In other words, what if pokemon are not native to the pokemon world, but originally evolved on Gallifrey?

Seriously. He's worse than cat gravity.
Yesterday's adventure was an appointment with my accountant to get my taxes done. Yes, I have an accountant. It's a necessity at this point. The 1040 was easy when all I had were W-2s to file, back when I worked "regular" jobs. Student loans were trickier, but not impossible.
However, if you're seriously self-employed, part time or full time, you want someone else to do the taxes for you. Trust me on this. Not just because the paperwork is more complicated, but if there's ever trouble with the IRS or the state, you have someone who can help back you up. Get someone who specializes in business taxes, because they can find all the various deductions for expenses, plus make sure you're doing everything legally. I wi
Sipping tea with your Muse Only by fostering a facility with the vocabulary of your artistic medium of choice, can you begin to really free yourself to be open to being creative with it.Sipping tea with your Muse1 year ago in Personal More Like This
The size of that vocabulary is another matter, and that’s about growth, improvement and development. These are important as well, and intricately linked to creativity, in parallel (more on that in a future article). But first let’s talk simply about the genesis aspect of art.
Remember when you were in high school, doodling in the margins of your notebooks? Ballpoint pen and edges of blue-lined notebooks, with half an ear listening to the lesson of the day? There was a familiarity in that setting, and ease that you moved through when you sketched these throwaway doodles. Every once in a while you’d accidentally make one that you’d really like, and you’d save that scrap of paper with notes on American History melding into the lines of a drawing of your D&D charac

Opening the Darkest Door
I have recently come across a most disturbing phenomenon in my studies of the Diabolic Infestation of the Soul. It seems there is a most frightening psychological conundrum when considering the concept of demonic possession even the most remote possibility of reality upon our earthly plane is the notion that just believing it may be true could very likely be the spark needed for the Demon to discover, seek out, and ultimately inhabit its next vessel of evil: You.

The Ever Evolving Icon
What is it about a fictional character first introduced to the public in Great Britain in 1887 that has kept him being reincarnated, with generationally-correct upgrades, over and over again in film and on television? Who is this literary hero whose portrayal over the past century by such past masters as Basil Rathbone and Jeremy Brett to today’s vanguard talents Robert Downey, Jr. and Benedict Cumberbatch has inspired such a continuing outpouring of fan appreciation?

How I (Finally) Got Good SkinI get lots of compliments on my skin in my photos. I got told yesterday on my latest set how nice it was. I won't ever deny it; I use photoshop to take out distracting blemishes, but for the most part, my skin is how you see it. I wanted to go into a bit more depth on how I got to this place. This journal may get a bit gross at times, just sayin'How I (Finally) Got Good Skin3 years ago in Personal More Like This
My skin was not always baby-smooth. Throughout my teenage years I had what is known as cystic acne. Life was depressing. I can't say which kind of acne is worse, all-over surface type, or one single giant zit-from-hell in the middle of your forehead. I had the second kind. I was extremely self-concious, and I wouldn't have dared to take stock photos had I not found a way to clear up my skin. Day-to-day, I took my stress out by picking at my skin. You can't see it in my photos now, but I do have some permanent damage from skin-picking. It's a reminder that self-harm is self-harm. You don't have to be taking a razorblade to you

According to the Chinese zodiac, 2012 has ushered in the year of the dragon upon the world stage.

Winter Nature PhotographyWe all know about the cons of shooting in winter: it's cold, it's dark, there is no bright colours, no flowers, the battery dies faster, and getting to places may be harder. But there are may positive things too! Here's my list for a nature photographer, and feel free to add to it in the comments:Winter Nature Photography2 years ago in Personal More Like This
1.There are opportunities for making both happy and gloomy pictures. It is easier to make a horror/macabre/dark photo when everything looks dead and desolate, not green and lushy.
2. You have a reason to spend time outside.
3. There is time to master low-light photography.
4. Photography is a good excuse for walking in knee-deep snow.
5. Since everything is dry and covered with snow, you have to be more creative in finding an interesting thing to shoot, and post-processing.
6. The sunrise and sunset last longer, so you have more golden hour time (assuming that you get to see the sun at all
7. There are some great natural phenomena, such as hoarfrost, sundogs, northern lights or ice fog.

So I have been thinking of doing a few articles apart from feature articles to link some useful resources for artists and this is the first one of these. While this is a mini one, it's helped me a lot on several occassions.
Sometimes it gets confusing to decide which colours to choose. "'Should I go with a turquoise and a gold for the face? What about the room? I was going for a chic cool modern palette which is minimalistic!" Surely, a lot of us have gone through those decisive moments. Below are some colour scheme tools that would help you with your colour scheme choices. Click the titles or the links in asterisk to go to the following sites.
