that's the reason why i just love this shit so much :D
and i just knew it would be cool

as i saw this model for, well, meanwhile also over a year ago ^^;
i just had to ask :iconsanat49: sanat49 for it
and i'm very thankfull and proud that he spend his original mesh for a papercraft project :huggle:
Crock by sanat49
the cool thing about this model is, that it's an entry for the pre-DominanceWar V competition, where i'm also a huge fan of :la:
what made this model, not the first Dominance War Papercraft, but the first downloadable (ironic hint to an other crafter ;P ) and hopefully definetly not my last ;)
...
but that's up to the 3d designer ;)

ok now, back to the model
the last steps, where you have to combine all parts will be exhausting
specially for the big shoulder armor pieces
there is not many space for glue or failures so be patience
test it out first where you can attach the pieces

also you have to put some weight into the rear leg or maybe both
maybe you noticed also that i attach the model a bit displaced at the pedestal
i had to do this because of the weight ratio
it's a lot testing and trying
so don't hurry ;)

file description:
the file contains as always three pdo files
one with texture and folding lines
one with texture and without folding lines
and one white version with folding lines

so you need the Pepakura Viewer what you can get "here"

all three pdo's are not protected
so if you have the Designer, you can edit the sheets in the way you want :)

the original texture is NOT included

model description:
the model come on 27 pages with 290 pieces and is 30cm tall

the model is actually not hard but the mouth take a bit more work as i thought
also the first three rings of the arms
the skulls and bones of the pedestal are very small but it's up to you if you wanna build them
i removed the lower site of the pedestal, it is too big for one page
but just glue the whole thing at a blank sheet and you have the same effect ;)

difficult level is about 7/10
if you have any trouble, feel free to ask me or/and take a look at the "building process gallery" where i explain how this and that is working :)

to download the model
click on the download button on the right side
you can thank dA for, that i can't write the direct link anymore

some words to the bloggers

because this is a collab, you have to give credits to :iconsanat49: sanat49 too!
otherwise i can't allow it to write a blog entry

you have the permission to use my photos
you DON'T have the permission to use his renders ore screenshot of it
except he allow it

this model is a Deviantart only download
so do not upload this model somewhere else
and the most important thing

this model is free and should it be
so let it be!

and trust me, i search for my stuff ;)

feel also free to write a critique :)

The first finished project involving Greed-sama, :3. It took me three days of Art Club, the last one being rushed, but I think it looks pretty good. It kinda looks like it's slightly orange, but that's just the lighting... And if I used flash, the blue on his nose reflects the light, D: XD.

FMA and Greed don't belong to me... unfortunately...

Here's a "blow-up" view of an costume prop I completed recently. It's a replica of a prosthetic (aka "Automail") arm worn by the character Edward Elric from "Fullmetal Alchemist." The a picture of the final product can be found in my main gallery.

The sequel to this:[link]
Ok, I think some of them turned out great, and others not so great...
I think Lust, Greed, Pride, and Wrath came out good, Envy okay, and Sloth and Gluttony bad.

This is based of the original manga/Brotherhood Humunculi, not the first anime! Maybe I'll do another one based of the first anime, but not now!

Some spoilers if you haven't gotten that far in the manga...

More here: [link]

Made here: [link]

Edit Ok, Envy was annoying the crap out of me, so I changed him a little. If you want to see the original, it's here: [link] If enough people like the old one more, I'll change it back.

UPDATE: As it turns out, my printer was distorting the pieces all throughout the design process, so even though the pieces all fit together perfectly, I'm pretty sure the entire helmet is slightly warped in comparison to the model in the game. As is customary, I've redone most of the work, this time including the shoulder armor and the belts. This version is easier to build because the parts are labeled, but I still recommend the newer version for the really hardcore fans. You can see the pictures of it finished HERE, and download the file to make it yourself HERE.

MORE PREVIEW PICS
* Crisis Core cutscene for handy reference

This project has undergone many, many title changes.....

"SOLDIER Helm Papercraft"
"Great Big Pain Where the Sun Don't Shine"
"Bloody Fricken Nightmare"
"SOLDIER Helmet for the Desperately Nerdy"

And so on....

I mean, seriously, do you REALLY want to know what I went through to make this stupid pattern? :nirvana: (See: [link])

I hadda make the model FIVE TIMES in order to get the scale right, because for the first three test-builds my printer kept stretching the images even though I told it not to in at least three different ways, so none of the edges matched up. Once I got that cleared up, I tried scaling a whole body image of the SOLDIER guy to my own height---like I do to scale my keyblades----but since Final Fantasy 7 characters have unnaturally long legs, the helmet came out too small. Finally---believe it----I measured between the bottom of my nose and point of my chin in order to scale the helmet in terms of an actual human face. It worked pretty well in my opinion, though I'm still not sure if it's a teeny weeny tad too large... Even so, in cosplay, 'imperceptibly-too-large' is actually best, because it helps one look more cartoonish. "Lager than life" is no lie. There's no such thing as 'imperceptibly-too-small'----the prop will always appear too small if it is too small.

*faints dramatically off of soapbox*

Enjoy! This pattern was intended for cosplay use, specifically as a base for papermache. Please do link me a photo if you use it, weather for cosplay, or just as a display. :D

Which reminds me... In order to actually get it on your head, you WILL need to trim it around the inside at the base of the neck. I left the original geometry there in case someone just wanted a model.

NO TEXTURE! As a matter of fact I DID rip the polygones from the Crisis Core ISO, but as a Pepakura-Designer newbie, I just printed it, traced it, and added all the tabs myself by hand.
