This guy had a problem with his eye. :( He came right up to the Tundra Buggy and stood right below me, sniffing. I had my 100mm lens and it was so close that all I could fit in the lens was an eye! What a wonderful moment. :aww:

EDIT: HOLY CRAP it's been less than a day and this is already my most popular deviation.. omg.. thank you so much guys! And to think, I thought it might be too crappy to submit :XD:

Just a blah head shot of Max. More experimentation on shading. I've been learning about the importance of sharing color throughout stuff in my painting class, and tried to use a lot of colors when shading. I love the look! More later...
Oh, and vacant looking expression intended ;)

Mixed Media
~Max: lines were black watercolor, brushed on spontaneously w/o being drawn out first, sharpened with black colored pencil. Colored with mix of watercolors and watercolor pencils. Shaded with colored pencils. Maybe some marker in there.
~Background: (not the original BG of the drawing of Max. I hated the old BG, so I cut Max out and glued it to this) Old texture i made, never found anything to do with. Watercolor. Saran wrap technique.
~Watermarks and some effects: added on pixlr.com and picnik.com. I decided to put it under traditional because 90% I would consider traditional.

Axolotl, pretty sure this is a Normal/Wild type one but could be wrong.. I LOVE these guys.. This is NOT mine but was taken at my friends store.. I use to keep these guys years back before they so common and had all the different morphs have now.. They called them "Water Dogs" at woolworth where use to get them haha.. You can see why they called them that haha.. I then stopped seeing them for years and all the sudden now they popping up and getting more popular with different morphs and some of then glow in the dark lol.. I have been meaning to pick some up again..

This is a drawing of Charly, a female ecclectus parrot...she is a really crazy bird. For example the outstretched leg means: "I don't want to fly around right now, please let me sit on your hand and carry me around." And then she shows where she wants to be carried by moving her head in the direction :-) And you better don't go in the wrong direction, because then she will use her beak (and that hurts even if she only "twitches" very softly)

Ok, this drawing has the size of a postcard, it took me about 4 hours and I mainly used a 0.5 mm 2B mechanical pencil and sometimes a HB and a 4B pencil.

And I had a reference picture for this.
