Axolotl, pretty sure this is a Normal/Wild type one but could be wrong.. I LOVE these guys.. This is NOT mine but was taken at my friends store.. I use to keep these guys years back before they so common and had all the different morphs have now.. They called them "Water Dogs" at woolworth where use to get them haha.. You can see why they called them that haha.. I then stopped seeing them for years and all the sudden now they popping up and getting more popular with different morphs and some of then glow in the dark lol.. I have been meaning to pick some up again..

Inspired by "Lost in My Mind" By The Head and the Heart
(Listen here: [link] )

EDIT: HOLY CRAP it's been less than a day and this is already my most popular deviation.. omg.. thank you so much guys! :heart: And to think, I thought it might be too crappy to submit :XD:

Just a blah head shot of Max. More experimentation on shading. I've been learning about the importance of sharing color throughout stuff in my painting class, and tried to use a lot of colors when shading. I love the look! More later...
Oh, and vacant looking expression intended ;)

Mixed Media
~Max: lines were black watercolor, brushed on spontaneously w/o being drawn out first, sharpened with black colored pencil. Colored with mix of watercolors and watercolor pencils. Shaded with colored pencils. Maybe some marker in there.
~Background: (not the original BG of the drawing of Max. I hated the old BG, so I cut Max out and glued it to this) Old texture i made, never found anything to do with. Watercolor. Saran wrap technique.
~Watermarks and some effects: added on pixlr.com and picnik.com. I decided to put it under traditional because 90% I would consider traditional.

My first attempt at painting with coffee! (more soon! Suggestions?)
I'm quite happy about this.
Took me around 4 hours I think (an hour and a half of which was probably spent just staring at it, I do that a lot)
Coffee, and a small amount of colored pencil and watercolor (mostly on the eyes, and black and brown watercolor to darken the coffee).
I know it's not perfect, and the background is simple, but it's because compared to my other paintings, I finished this relatively fast. So no crits, please :)
Inspired by the foxes that live by my house and the fall season in full swing right now.
Note: This is 2 images combined, there is a line showing that
and
the lower right hand corner is blurred because that's where my real name was.
Do you guys think I could sell this? Or offer a print here on dA? Do you think people would buy it?
I'm feeling more confident since I recently got offer from people to buy one of my paintings, something that I was surprised about xD I didn't think people would actually buy them before...

PS: Get up right now and stand about 6 feet from your computer. I've learned my paintings aren't the close up type, they're actually better from a little distance due to my kind of brushstroke. Trust me, it'll look better.

My art- don't steal, copy, etc!

Mimicking my expression during social gatherings.
Quite reclusive, one of the largest owls in Canada
Surrounded by screeching crows, he only stayed for about 7 minutes after I arrived.

This is my OC and Fursona - Angel ^_^ She is also the mascot for my new group - :iconocanimalkingdom: :meow:

She is a development of my character that I developed from my imvu avatar. I didn't want to create another completely new character, as again I would have the same problem that I would have probably lost interest in them soon after creating them, so I thought why not use the one that I have unconsciously been using as my image for quite a while now... :dummy: Except I have decided to give her a wolf form too so I can choose whether to draw her as a wolf or how she looks normally as an anthro. I did do some research on how to make a "good OC" and I found out what a "Mary Sue" is. XD Hopefully Angel isn't one. ^^;

Also whilst my friend and I were at NemaCon, we went to an extremely helpful digital masterclass panel held by :icondestinyblue: (Alice de Ste Croix) who is a brilliant digital artist! ^_^ She has inspired me to start using GIMP again! :la:
I now know about many things on GIMP I didn't before. :meow:

I did use :iconlunatemari:'s scene wolf lineart even though Angel is technically not a scene wolf, I just used it because it had the right hair-style and I also wanted to use a non MS Paint friendly lineart so I would be forced to use GIMP so I could practise on it. ^_^ And considering I have hardly ever used GIMP properly like this I think I did really well! :la:

Also thanks to :icondestinyblue:'s panel I now know about textures and how other artists use them to create the traditional effect ^^; I always admired :iconculpeo-fox:'s drawings that have that old paper like background, so I searched about on dA and found :iconwojtar-stock:'s amazing collection of textures! ^_^

....I'll shut up now. ^^;
