2. I love sushi too, but I prefer it dead before I eat it. I know you love to fish but please don't do this in front of me again. I nearly fainted and you know I've seen some grisly things.
3. I don't need to hear again how your mom use to deep fry things that look like my hamster, and serve them as appetizers.
4. Please don't use my knitting yarn as dental floss. I sent to Palaven for a new supply for you. It will be here in a few days.
5. I get it that casting is a family activity for Turians, but humans are just not with that hairball kind of thing. I love you dearly, but there are some things I can't do with you, so please regurgitate that stuff in private.

The Leviathan and the Death of HopeWarning: contains spoilers concerning the Leviathan DLC, Mass Effect 3 and my notions about what good writing is. Duh.The Leviathan and the Death of Hope2 years ago in Personal More Like This
There are moments when I wish I could just turn off my writer's sense at a whim and "just go with it". Ignore that a story in a game, or a movie, or a book, or a TV show is flawed in my opinion, just to enjoy the views, get an adrenaline rush from all the flashing colors and have fun. And truth be told - it usually works that way... Just not for the universes I tend to care about. If you got me invested in your franchise, I will expect you to deliver the goods. 'Tis how the cookie crumbles.
Which brings me to the Leviathan DLC. I've seen a lot of positive reviews and emotions towards it popping up all over the internet before I was even able to check it out myself. My hopes were high, and, initially, I loved it. It had a sense of exploration Mass Effect 3 was seriously lacking and the TGES Mining Base really reminded me of Noveria... It was spot on.
Character Feature: Shyla ShepardThe seemingly indomitable Shyla Shepard has lived a harsh and tragic past. After losing her family at sixteen to a bloody Batarian pirate attack on an Alliance colony, the young fighter joined the Alliance military only to lose her entire squad in a deadly thresher maw attack. In the years since, these early scars have forged a new identity out of the shattered ruins of the child whose family died on Mindoir. Known for her “tough but fair” approach, Shepard’s fight against the geth incursion broke new grounds for humanity when she became the first human Spectre on the galactic Council’s elite forces. But recent rumors have put in question Shepard’s loyalty to the Alliance forces. Our investigator setup an exclusive interview to delve into the truth behind the legend.Character Feature: Shyla Shepard3 years ago in Personal More Like This

It was one of those conversations that I wish, in retrospect that I had never really started. Jane didn’t like me bringing it up and I didn’t really like finding out something that I had always suspected. It ended well, but not because I won the ... argument.
It began innocently; she was washing a teacup at the kitchen sink. I came up behind her and nuzzled her neck. She squirmed away, skipped over to the kitchen door and with a lascivious smile beckoned me into the yard with her index finger.
“If you want it, catch me if you can.” Jane said and sauntered away out into the yard.
I’d been lead on this merry chase many times before; all through the house and half the yard. The last time, we ended up making love on the potting ta
Mass Effect 3 - Happy Ending Mod...Mass Effect 3 - Happy Ending Mod2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Yet again the Mass Effect Fandom proved that it will not leave the ending in the state it was presented in the game. A certain (fan!) mod was created (and is right now in the testing phase) a Happy Ending Mod for ME3. We can destroy the Reapers, Shepard lives (EDI and Geth too) and most importantly of all we don't have to worry about the Star Child.
Instruction how to install it and the mod itself can be found here:
You can also check how the mod works here on youtube:

Bioware Executives Address ME3 Ending Honestly, there are spoilers here. If you haven't finished ME3 yet, what in the heck are you still doing here?!Bioware Executives Address ME3 Ending3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Alright, I've finally landed enough time on other computer. My other computer completely died on me. I'm entirely out of date when it comes to Mass Effect news. Or anything on the internet for that matter.
Like it or not, Mass Effect 3 has shipped something on the lines of three and a half million units, which has in turn generated a historic fan response.
It's ranged from a bevy of online petitions such as ones for Joker romance, better Thane romance, blerbla blah character petition, and --the meat of the matter-- the "different ending" petitions.
Nevermind what your opinion of it might be, the "Take Back Mass Effect 3" movement has generated a sizable donation for the Child's Play charity --over $29,000-- which is great whatever way you slice it. This donation drive is meant make Bioware take the movement seriously.
And Bioware has responded.
ME3 endings versus angry fansWarning! The text below includes heavy spoilers, so people who didn't finish ME3 yet should avoid it.ME3 endings versus angry fans3 years ago in Personal More Like This
The battle between Bioware and it's fans rages on. This year we already had three occasions to write angry notes to Bioware. The failed 4th book - that was more of a fanfic than a book. The Day-1 DLC "From ashes" fiasco, and now the boycott of ME3 endings. Endings that were renounced by the fans as uncanonical.
The fans are mobilizing to get additional (more happy) ME3 ending. And if they were able to force Bioware to make a re-write of the failed book, maybe they will be able to achieve this too.
Here you can vote in the polls on Bioware Social:
Here you can sign a petition for additional endings:

You might've been fifteen in 1986 and someone might have given you a video game for Christmas "Something new for the Nintendo" and now you are forty years old and it's time. A new rite of passage, this Christmas it is VERY POSSIBLE to give your fifteen year old the same gift, but the new and improved, 25 Year Anniversary Edition! Zelda, Link and Ganon are alive and well and still living in an enchanted universe! Truth is there are not many games that have survived the test of time. Yes, the Mario Brothers are still jumping over barrels alongside a few others, but have any of the others had a 70-piece orchestra and a live choir play arrangements of songs from their franchise in concert? Honestly, I've always considered that what the original STAR WARS movie is to the film industry, THE LEGEND OF ZELDA is to the gaming wo

So, I know I'm not usually serious, but I'd like to be just for a bit. This is a long post, so feel free to not read if you don't have the time. I totally get it. If you do have the time, please do. It might give you something to think about, especially if you're a female gamer.
I just wanted to take a moment to say that Mass Effect 3 has done something really amazing in my eyes.
I'm a 22-year-old female gamer. I've been playing video games since my very early childhood. Now, I'm attending a school to get a degree in making them.
I've been incredibly isolated because of who I am, and I've refused to change, willingly accepting my own fate of quiet evenings and cellphones that never ring. Other girls my age never understood me and refused to even try. They had their labels for me, and they swore I spoke another language if I mentioned my most favored of hobbies.
Then, I came to college. In my program, there's almost not a female in sight. The few that exist

I was going to be a Surgeon.
As a child, it was Veterinarian, but as I grew up I realized with my brain, I should use it to help people. How better to help people than to save lives?
It didn't work out. Second semester of ninth grade I started getting stomach aches. Sounds like no big deal but it was, as a kid who had never been sick suddenly getting out of bed in the morning was a challenge. I missed school. A lot of school. Fell far enough behind that for the first time in my entire life I was going to have to struggle to pass my classes.
Me—the child who got A's in her sleep—all because of some stomach aches. "They can't be that bad, you just don't want to come to school." But I did want to go to school. Problem was, insecure kid that I was, I started to believe everyone who told me I was making it up. I was a skipper, a delinquent.
Then it got worse. Grade ten rolled around and suddenly I have headaches, too. Migraines. Every day. To my frien

Mass Effect 3 review MASSIVE SPOILERS!!!!SpoilersMass Effect 3 review MASSIVE SPOILERS!!!!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Let's begin then.
I decided to write a review of Mass Effect 3 as I did with Dragon Age 2.
So here I am trying to put my thoughts in some order again.
SOME GENERAL THOUGHTS
In general I really enjoyed the game. I think it's really well done and I love that it's almost like interactive movie. I really like the way cinematics and in game scenes were practically joined with actual gameplay. I love how the whole game looks like, the experience is great, locations are well designed and interesting. I could see the effort put into graphic, and I really enjoyed backgrounds, environments and locations. Menae, Tessia, ruins on Tuchanka... fiest for my eyes.
I played whole series in a row and mechanics didn't change that much. I liked the way player can buy and upgrade weapons, it's a nice compromise between overwhelming number of weapon in ME1 and lack of choice in ME2. Multiplayer is a nice addition but I found surprising

ME3 reaction -spoilers!- and stuffHello everyone!ME3 reaction -spoilers!- and stuff3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I've been checking the site since I finished (? Can I say that?) Mass Effect3 last Tuesday and I'm sorry I haven't answered many comments yet, but I was somewhere along stage 1-2 of http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/comics/critical-miss/9476-Mass-Effect-3-The-Process. But yesterday I landed on stage 3 and I've been lurking the BSN trying to avoid stage 4 and go directly to stage 5.
My usual reaction after playing any Bioware game is replaying it again. But the most I've been able to do with ME3 was to check the net, see what I did wrong and replay the end. In my case, I had not enough EMS to get the 'end' I wanted, so I made up my mind to play the MP. Man, I'm never going there again. Don't get me wrong, nothing bad happened, but I just don't like it. I felt the same way when I played PVP in WoW for the seasonal achivements. Useless. So no MP for me and sorry guys, if I landed in any of your fights.
About the game. It's perfect. Almost anything I could have

And I have a sneaky suspicion that one or two of you might.
Your characters will look different to varying degrees when you import them into ME3. For some, this change was for the worse, and for others it was either for the better or just fine. They were kind enough to post some pictures for an example.

One of our local pizzerias has a promo until next Thrusday: if you buy a pizza menu, you get an Angry bird plushie. My boyfriend is quite fond of Angry Birds so he suggested to eat there. And poor guy is starting a new diet on Monday, so... why not?
There we went, we ordered the pizza, we ordered our drinks and when we asked for the plushie, the girl at the desk asked us which one we wanted. "Which ones do you have", I asked. "Let me check", she said before leaving. She came back in a minute and informs us "We have the blue one, the green one and the red one".
I was so tempted to check for hidden cameras... but hey, coincidences happen!

Nigel Thornberry--I mean, Tim Curry, hello! Good to see you playing a character who's not a bad guy.

This game is as every bit as awkward as real life with the constant, "Oh, hey, you do stuff AND have a vagina? Not a lot of people here have vaginas. That's so weird. You are weird for having a vagina."
Okay, back to killing stuff and talking to dudes and having a vagina. All at once, even.
Since people have been asking about my character and decisions and whatnot, I'm adding that here:
I'm a human noble. Why? Because I just w
