The Fairy of the LeavesIn a forest long ago,
A place that is now lost in thorns,
There, an old tree stood
Where the forest's fairy was born.

Her wings resembled flowers.
Her flesh seemed to be of fine earth.
Day's light was in her eyes.
The gods knew she was of great worth.

The fairy was earth's guardian.
She cared for it and all it fed.
She lived up in a nest
Where her lute laid atop her bed.

The days were always pleasant.
The forest felt so warm and bright.
As long as she was there
Despite how late it was at night.

One day, she fell from the nest
For reasons we can't comprehend.
