It took slightly longer because it is bigger/higher resolution file than the one I used for this tutorial...
(and no it is not a fast-forward)

so here instead is something I made today for you deviants..
hope you find it helpful!

As requested by my friend,
Here's the process behind Dragster

The piece & this tutorial were done in Adobe Photoshop CS2 from conceptualization to finishing touches...

I was half-asleep when i did this!

it's not really a step-by-step process tutorial.. that would take forever! i guess this is an overview of the major processes...

or not...

hehehee

XD

A little something to help some beginners, maybe some advanced users, and other people, aliens, animals & whoever else might need this- get the right colors for shading!

Using the color picker in Adobe Photoshop...

Advanced users can use the HSB (Hue Saturation Brightness) Sliders to do this, although you can't properly apply the "diagonal selection" technique there..

This is a surprise gift for all the people that have subscribed me!

Still don't know the last ones but i hope you like the gift :)!

---

This is an advanced layer tutorial. It will teach you how to use photoshop layers, the advanced way. If you are still basic inside photoshop i suggest you take some basic tutorials first.

excuse for the confusing guide, but deviantart didn't let me load images bigger than 10080x10080 pixels so i needed to
crop it up a bit.

---

!For those of you who can't read the tutorial because of to small texts!

Download the image, DeviantArt crops the full-size which is highly disturbing

---

I hope it helps!
And don't hesitate to send the results after you tried it!

Greetings,

Z

(my English isn't that great so if you see spelling mistakes that are really bad, tell me)

For the longest time, many people have been requesting for tutorial on how to paint/speed-paint rocks...

Well, this tutorial shows some of the ways I do it.

There are other methods I use but this tutorial shows the best examples to understanding the concept and not just the technique (well, i hope it does).

I hope it helps! :)

what software is that?
I did this in Photoshop cs2, but anyone can follow these steps using any painting/drawing software. I also just used a default brush here.

Why no textures? Rocks are often rough, right?
What is most important is to depict the form of the rock. To make it look realistic or believable, the rock should have body, and fit into it's environment. The textures are just secondary.

like my facebook page here i sometimes update it with random artworks not found here on da! :D
