"I overcame...." Story: 0-CLAM-0This is a new journal idea that just came to me when one of our members, 0-CLAM-0 :icon0-CLAM-0: messaged me she wanted to share her story on how she stopped cutting.
Let's try something new. Let's express how we overcame something. Be it just not hurting yourself for one day, one week, one month, one year. That you didn't let someone else's words get to you. That you overcame the cruelty this world has to offer. It doesn't have to be big, it can be anything because you overcame it.
THE STORIES WILL HAVE TRIGGERS so if you don't want to read it, you don't have to. BUT, they also have hope and something to offer each of you otherwise we won't post them.
So once a month, perhaps every other week, or whenever one of you wants to express yourself, message one of our admins, tell us your story and we'll share it with everyone else. This group has been a bit quiet lately, I am to blame as well, but let's stir things up.
If you have any ideas at all, if you want to sa
SixWordStories Contest ~ Win a 3 Month PM!UPDATE: Just under 10 days to get your entry in! If you have entered, please make sure your piece is in the folder!SixWordStories Contest ~ Win a 3 Month PM!11 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
A type of Flash Fiction, six word stories are (very) short stories with an exact word count: six words. SixWordStories is the place where, alongside quality, quantity really does matter. Though these stories are so brief in length, they can be as profound, if not more, than the prose and poetry you see and read every day, partly because six word stories can tell us so much and yet contain so little.
As a Group, we encourage writers to explore their boundaries with prompts, collaborations and more, but we accept anyone and everyone too! Whether you are a digital artist, photographer, or something else entirely, if you can string six words together into a story, this is the place to be!
Please support the contest and the article so that more can join in on the fun!

I’ll start with my fellow Merchants. First off, it sure does suck that you all got kicked out like that. My condolences, though you all know that you should have been selling healthier stuff, so keep that in mind next time and you might be a little better off. 1000 members celebration contest! *Prizes added* Contest1000 members celebration contest! *Prizes added*3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Hello beautiful members!
It is here! In celebration of our 1000th members benchmark, we are holding a contest
The theme for our contest is
One milestone in one thousand
There seems to be a little bit of confusion surrounding the concepts and ideas behind the milestone idea.
So hopefully this will clear everything up Basically a milestone is a hurdle that needs to be overcome, its a challenge.
We chose the theme as being one milestone in one thousand, because as a group on DA, to reach 1000 members is a great achievement,
one that we want to celebrate as being overcome. Then the idea of the one in one thousand - Basically the 1000 members was our over all milestone
but in order to achieve that, there were '1000' smaller milestones that had to be overcome to do that. The sa

Forum I made about it: http://forum.deviantart.com/community/projects/1835591/
While working on a personal piece (taking a break from my commissions), I had created a palette for my drawing. I love this palette so much that an idea came to me and I honestly can't resist it. Why not make a contest? So here is the details:
Note: Every time a work is finished and posted in this journal's comments, it goes towards the next prize upgrade. Right now we are only on the starting prizes, but eventually when more art works are posted, it adds to the next goal.
For an example we are 0/15 right now, but once 5 people finish their art works and post the link, that would then be 5/15. Once 15/15 is met, we will move on to the next prize goal. It would then look like 15/20 and we would only need 5 more submissions to be boosted up.
1. You must use the palette that I provide you with. The purpose of this is to create unity throughout the different works that w
