Rainbow Dash: War is ..well, hell if I know!
The weather had been strange. With each passing day the clouds grew thicker, darker, and heavier. A few months back they had been white, beautiful and scattered sparsely throughout the true blue. Now it was as though there was no sky at all, just a large mass of gloomy haze. Then there were days when there wasn't a cloud in sight but still everything felt off. The sky wasn't the same blue and the sun the sun was the strangest of them all. It seemed too dim but too bright, too warm yet too cold. And the way it hung, no, the way it dragged through the sky was almost eerie. Sure the nights had been strange as well; the clouds would almost completely disperse and the moon shown brighter and larger in the sky, but it didn't have the same edginess the days had.
Today was one of those cloudy days and soaring through the grey sky was a young seraph. Her speed was too high for casual loitering a
After Mare-day Gras...The light from Celestia's noontime sun brightly shone into Twilight's sleeping face, causing the unicorn to cover her face with a foreleg. "Mmmph, 5 more minutes... But, try as she might, the warmth from the sun gently urged her from her slumber. Giving a sigh, the unicorn slowly opens her first her left eye... Then her right eye creeps open as she stumbles out of her sleeping nook. Still half-asleep, Twilight trips down the steps and into the kitchen. "Mmmm, need tea... Wha-what happened last night...?" The last thing she remembered as she trotted drowzily into the kitchen, was being at the local Mare-day Gras party Pinkie Pie threw last night...
"Twilight!" The ever-hyper pink pony bounced over, her neck laden with what looked to be hundreds of beaded necklaces as she wore a mask in the shape of two lollypops over her eyes. "TWILIGHT!" the hyper pony screamed ag

The trees were pathetic. Most of them were dead or dying without the care and nourishment they had been receiving for years before. They had even given up on bearing fruit. Only a dozen trees still provided bounty and they were tasteless shells of the gleaming jewels they had once been. Fed only by water and the suffocating smoke of industry, it was a miracle even these trees still stood. This land that had once been a farm of the most delicious apples for miles around had fallen into hard times, only to rise into a different kind of farming. The farming of steel and bronze. The farming of offense and defense. The farming of war machines. That's the kind of farm Sweet Apple Acres was now.
The Barn, which had once been filled with the sounds of content cows, now echoed with the sounds of unwilling metal and the harsh shouts of man. The smell of iron and sweat was always heavy in the air, as though the very walls ha

The rising sun was like fire. It was blazing without the heat and burning without the flames, bathing the landscape in red. The whole scene had the appearance of a sunset in reverse. Creeping towards a sleepy village, the glowing light slid over the mountains and hills, scorching the fields and trees. However, as the stalking light reached the Everfree forest, clouds began to move in, black and grey claws grasping for the glowing orb. A tiny sliver was all the reached the village before the clouds snuffed it out like a dying candle.
The village of Ponyville was in as sorry a state as ever. A year had passed since the war that had caused the worst of the damages but still they lingered like an unattended wound. Some attempts at repairs had been made, boards hammered over holes, debris swept from the streets, but otherwise they had been left to fester and putrefy. Time had also taken its toll, but it was secondary

The sky was the color of murky water and the ground was like an open grave. The mud was moist with thick sweat and even thicker blood that bubbled up if even the slightest pressure was applied. People were screaming, oh were they screaming. Some people were afraid and others were in excruciating torment, the kind of torment you feel when you look down and see your insides sliding out of your body. Sometimes there were screams of fear because they didn't know what had happened and where they were; only that they hurt and they wanted someone to make the hurting stop. Sometimes there was fear because they knew where they were and what was happening and they just didn't want to be there. They wanted to be five again and to run to their mother's arms because they were afraid. The terrible sounds were everywhere; the air itself seemed to be in pain. Yet still the guns fired and the people ran forward. People still killed and people still f

Everything was still. Slightly hunched over a decorative red sandalwood desk she sat in a chair made of finely polished pink ivory with luxurious crimson velvet cushions. The papers on the desk were neatly stacked to the left while a single book titled "Flying Colors" took its residence on the right. Exactly five inches in front of the book was an antique vase that dated back 586 years. The vase was plain but along its rim was a lovely scene of couples walking through a thriving park. Pure white orchids had nestled in the relic, their clean blooms head high. Lined at the front of the desk's polished surface were a row of five pens, all black but each engraved with a different type of gem, perfectly parallel with the one next to it. Nothing moved. Not even her.
Her arms were propped up on the desk, gloved in pure black, and her hands sat folded together, the lovely slender fingers entwined. Beneath the sandalwood s

Arms swaying at her sides, occasionally brushing against her skirt, a woman walked down an organized, clean hall way. Her head held up high, she walked with purpose. With each step the heels of her boots made contact with the pale gold marble floor to let out a sharp and authoritative click. Her demeanor did not waste it's presence for each person she passed either greeted her politely or stood at attention until she was several steps ahead. By now she had come to acknowledge the reactions, hardly noticing them, much different from when she first received such respect, which had left her flustered and embarrassed.
Still, nothing escaped her wandering gaze. Should one of the men linger too long in the hallway or a group of woman giggle amongst themselves to loudly (or if they giggled at all dependent on her mood), she was quick to make her existence known without a single utterance, perhaps an annoyed clearing of the throat
3 Weeks Party - Part 8Rarity walked out from her still steaming bathroom, she levitated the door closed to keep the bedroom dry as she made her way to her vanity. The clock showed only half an hour left until the date. "Come on Rarity, you can do this." The white unicorn looked into the mirror, her own reflection looking back at her. "You can do this, in half an hour you will be at a date with Twilight Sparkle, the date will work, she will come home with you, you can make love to her, you can live by her side." She repeated herself several times trying to draw her strength of will. "It will be different from before." She struggled reminding herself of her past. "This date will be different, it will work." 'It's never worked before, I've never had a successful date.' Rarity knew she was right, especially since Twilight was going to do something wrong for sure as well as her. Twilight and Luna were standing on the deck of the Ponyville Library. It was the middle of spring, and Winter Wrap Up had long past. The grass was growing and the flowers were blooming, adding a beautiful green hue to the world as Luna's moon shone brightly overhead in the dead of night. The temperature was warm and the air was muggy, but the sky remained crystal clear. The pair of them were looking through Twilight's largest telescope, which she had just set up the night before.
"Things are so much clearer with a bigger lens, don't you think?" asked Twilight.
"Definitely," replied Luna, her eye glued to the eyepiece, the telescope pointed low on the horizon. "What's this star called?"
"It's called Antares. It's a part of the constellation called Scorpio," said Twilight, looking at one of her books. Luna took her face away from the eyepiece finally, looking up at the sky itself. She stared in the direction

I feel a drive to spill ink on paper, but no words heed the Shaper.
I could write about my dad who believes if I died yesterday
I would be rotting in Hell's fiery pits today!
But I don't need his fallacious religion to know that my life has meaning.
I could talk about my friend who recently joined the army,
although it is nothing, a spit in the sea compared to the American death machine.
I could think about how I was medicated;
drugged half my life for a problem I was later told most people grow out of.
I could sing of my sister whom I love and hate so much -
love because she is my baby sister,
hate because she treats us like shit smeared over the floor.
But none of these things interest me,
now that I have returned from my walk.

"Well, it's nice to be back in Canterlot; so much has changed!" Twilight said as she continued walking, excitement in her voice. Sure, she'd been here a few times since she'd moved to Ponyville, but this was really the first time she'd been there just to relax and reconnect with her roots, as opposed to a party or being called to save the world from an ancient evil that escaped its prison. She remembered Rarity's friendship report after Twilight's birthday; don't be ashamed of your roots. That's what had compelled her to come do a little reconnecting with where she'd come from. "Isn't that right, Spike Spike?" she asked, looking back at her assistant to see him falling quite far behind.

Big Mac stared down at his little sister dully, chewing a straw. It was the same straw that he had been chewing for the past year, at least that is what he thought. In reality Applejack had to sneakily change it every week so that it didn't become nasty. "Applejack's gone on holiday lil' one. She said she'll be gone a long time."
Apple Bloom glared quizzically up at her brother. "That don't make no sense, she would've told me!"

If you were my mom, your first joyous assumption would be that I finally got a girlfriend. If you were my dad, you would be grateful that I finally pulled myself up by the bootstraps and decided to wake up with the sun. If you were my friends, you would wonder what the hell had happened to me and possibly pontificate on the possibility of a web-cam girl who charged less in the morning hours.
None of them would have even approached the reality of my situation.
I sleep like an adolescent; at least, that's what my mom used to tell me, as she sighed at the state of my room in her long-suffering way. Hardly a morning passed where she didn't wade in, as if into the trenches of war, to begin gingerly piling my laundry into its proper basket instead of leaving it strewn about the room, as I did.
'Sleeping like an adolescent,' apparently, means ending up in a position different than the one you started in. Sure, I'd start out peacefu

Whip Scar chewed with his head low and his eyes peeled in the soft moonlight. Tension filled his every muscle and he wandered amidst the herd aimlessly. Deep in the wilds of the wide, wide forest known as Everfree, the simple herd of ponies grazed the grasses in the fields that sometimes broke the expanse of trees. They, too, were tense though they did not show it.
Foaling was a dangerous time for all. During the first few hours of life, a foal cannot walk. Predators sought those times. Twilight gently eased herself down from the warm confines of her bed. Four hooves touched down almost soundlessly on to the hardwood floors below. With great care, she made her way blindly to the door that led out to the balcony. Even through the dark, the task was simple enough. She could lend that to years of repetition; years of walking through this very room. Not much had changed since she had moved here. A delicate purple light illuminated the hooked handle and the door opened inwardly. From the doorway, a soft breeze ruffled her graying mane and she closed her eyes momentarily to enjoy the soft caress.
She trotted out into the night as quickly as her weathered legs would allow and toward the balcony's edge. Since moving back to Canterlot, this balcony had become her favorite spot, only next to the palace's library, of course. She rose creakily to her hind legs, her fore hooves draping over the railing to steady herself. From here should could see the twinkling lights of Canterlot

Rarity hurried about the room, gathering her supplies and occasionally stopping to fix some minor detail about her fellow unicorn's appearance. "I can't believe we're finally doing this!" she would squeal happily every few minutes. The white pony was wearing a dress of her own, one matching Twilight's nearly perfectly, though not as decorative and lacking a veil.
Twilight nodded in agreement, glancing up at the clock; five minutes to twelve. It was almost time. Her heart thumped in her chest, giddiness and excitement coursing through her veins. She smiled, happily anticipating how much fun her and her friends would be having very soon.

MLP - If they were humanAs I'm sure many fans of MLP will know, there are many artists out there who have made picture showing what they believe the characters of the show would look like if they were human. These types of pictures have always interested me and as such I thought I'd have a crack at putting down my own interpretation. Now I'll say right now that I've never been much of an artist, having most of my submissions be literature. So instead I thought I'd write about what I think they'd look like if they were human.MLP - If they were human2 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
