The New World
When Lydril finally saw light again, she was in some unfamiliar place. She was at the top of large tower with countless lights below, some lamp lights and others destructive fires in the city of countless metal buildings and steam. The sky was dark and stormy, except when the clouds were illuminated by a bolt of lightning. She heard an ear-shattering gong and realized that she was atop an ancient bell tower. The bell itself had gone through many hardships, for it was rusted, cracked, and stained with old blood. The storm clouds blocked out any hopeful, guiding light from the stars and in their place was the eerie glow of a full moon.
Where am I?
"Are you lost, little mouse?"
Lydril whirled around to the shadows where the chilling voice had come from, but she found nothing.
"Aw, she's scared! How disgustingly adorable."
"W-who are you? What do you want?" Lydril stuttered, trying to sound brave and confident but utterly failing.

A long time ago in a small village there lived a little elven girl.
But she was different from the other girls.
Not only was she smaller than the smallest elf,
she also had wings like the harpies plaguing the fields.
Most villagers ignored her some greeted her when passing by,
but some hated her, they yelled sometimes even threw stones.
She never lied or did them harm. She just wanted to be friends,
but when ever there was misfortune they made her responsible.
She loved to train with the sword till late into the night.
Her dream was to become a Knight in shiny armor.
When ever she trained the villagers smiled at her,
but not in approval. No they laughed at her full of contempt.
Don't play knight, tiny bird. Make yourself useful.
Water the plants, plow the fields or feed the cattle.
She only trained in her free time when all work was done.
They wanted her to work harder, compensating for the harpies.
The little girl wasn't all alone in the world, though.
There was one man and his wife,

Wilhelmina, or as she liked to be called 'Mina' for short, was a girl of the age of 20. Her family was a prototypical American farm family living in the rural parts of Iowa. Their main crop was corn and it had made her family semi-rich; meaning that the family was well off but no one in particular could sit on their laurels but actually had to still work. Wilhelmina was the oldest of 6 children, she having 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Mina stood at a respectable 5' 6" tall; she had short brown hair, brown eyes, and was athletically slender in nature. All were working for their father on the family corn farm when they were not in school. During her time as a child she took to three things, one being the bow and arrow hunting of small game, the second being cheerleading, and the third was her studies in school.
Mina wasn't too keen about her full first name; she kept thinking that her parents had called her that n

Why they cry She had only opened her eyes for a few seconds, and she had already seen her whole life flash before her eyes. No, she wasn't dying, but it was as if she were, she thought, seeing what destiny lied before her. A life of pain, grieve, tears, lies, hope and love, lust and sin, a life of ups and downs, a life of goods and bads, a life of fulfillment and of despair. She had barely put one little toe in this new world, and she had already felt the putrid smell of death in the wards surrounding her, the mingled odor of sweat, emptiness and hatred. The sound of people dying, suffering or coldly laughing in their insanity had hit her little ears the very second she had come out. The chill of darkness and misfortune had already caressed her delicate skin, leaving long slimy tracks. Why they cry9 years ago in Philosophy & Perspectives More Like This

Editorial of Fredrick II (the Great) Of PrussiaEditorial of Fredrick II (the Great) Of Prussia1 year ago in Editorial More Like This
Charges were filed against King Fredrick II of Prussia for treating his army unfairly and not letting the soldiers leave his army unless by death. He faced those charges in court yesterday.
Having the fourth largest army in Europe comes at a great cost and with great dedication from the soldiers who served the army of Prussia. To accomplish all that they did the soldiers had to sacrifice not being able to see their families and could not leave the Prussian army once they joined a Prussian officer for the prosecution testified. All citizens in 18th century Prussia owed service to the state, but the burden of direct military service fell on the farm workers, peasants, and unskilled workers. Fredrick II even forced prisoners of war as young as the age of thirteen to fight in his army.
The Junkers defended Fredrick II by testifying that Prussia's military provided excellent medical care, the best uniforms in Europe, great employment opportunities.

While the Soga sisters were visited by Manami and told of their predicament by the being they once called their enemy, the mysterious youkai that had been accompanying the ushi-oni had made her way to the village where the Soga and Hata clan's human survivors had fled. Much to her horror, an angry mob had formed with the intent of killing members of both clans. Having already caught Soga no Nagahiro, the people let his wife Kazue escape, planning to attack the Hata clan's house next.
Having become aware of this, the heads of the clan were preparing to leave, letting the mob decide the fate of their daughter Hitomi. The girl had locked herself up in a room and had spent all her time sulking after cutting her hair short, leading her parents to believe that she had been cursed. While Kazue had reached the house and began to help the two organize their escape along with their servants, the kirin quietly snuck into the building to have a look at Hitomi, noticing how she was b

Maybe something is wrong with me.

It did start with that...
Wait...is it really that?
Is that really what we're fighting about?
It can't be that...
We wouldn't let that separate us...would we?
But we've talked about it all the time!
Why can I only hear my voice after it has already escaped!?
I can't be silent...
I can't show them I'm upset...
The sisters will forgive me, right?
We've toughed through worse...

The village that Soga no Kuniko and Mariko had called their home was all but gone. While the sisters remained in the ruins of their home, their friend Hitomi as well as their parents Nagahiro and Kazue were forced to flee along with the survivors. While bitterness reigned among the refugees as they heard of the Soga clan head's encounter with his wayward daughter, a pair of youkai had decided to visit the unfortunate sisters to hear of their perspective on the tragic events.
Kuniko looked upon the two youkai standing before her, rubbing her eyes a bit as she tried to tried to get up. Mariko was resting on her lap, moved slightly to the side as she felt her sister trying to move. "What do you want?" Grinning at the less than friendly greeting, Manami placed her sake gourd aside before giving a reply. "We just came to ask you about what happened here last night. Apparently, nobody wanted to stick around after that little stunt you pulled off."

The silver glinted menacingly in the afternoon sun, as if knowing the pain it was causing.
She felt hot tears in her eyes, but she didn't dare let them loose. Instead, she clenched her jaws and fists tightly and let her throat swell shut with emotion.

As if what was happening could all be erased.
