ME3 Extended Cut DLC releasing next weekWell, here we are folks, the Extended Cut DLC is coming out for free on next Tuesday for the Xbox, PC and PS3-- PS3 who don't like in North America will have to wait until July 4th.ME3 Extended Cut DLC releasing next week3 years ago in Personal More Like This
"The Extended Cut DLC will expand upon the events at the end of Mass Effect 3 through additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes” and will “include deeper insight to Commander Shepard’s journey based on player choices during the war against the Reapers... blah blah blah everything we know already.”
I hope you have a somewhat good internet connection because this baby weighs in at 1.9 GB for the whole download.
That's 1.9 gigabytes of DAO-style epilogue slides, people.
Actually, no, according to Bioware, " it will include “additional scenes and epilogue sequences. It provides more of the answers and closure that players have been asking for. It gives a sense of what the future holds as a result of the decisions made throughout the series. And it shows greater detail
How I made my way out of the Loser TrapHey guys, I feel the topic of productivity, balance of work and life and other such things vibrates these days, as quite a few people whom I follow wrote something about it, so I thought I'd bring to your attention the quotes I found most resonant for me (and some personal thoughts, too, that I'll share below):How I made my way out of the Loser Trap4 months ago in Personal More Like This
From Hannes' tumblr post about the recent changes in his attitude towards art (very much worth a read by itself):
I know how this sounds from the guy who used to be all about drawing all day, every day, but I’ve started doing other things. First of all at some point your health will politely ask you to start working out, taking away about 8 hours of your week. You’ll start eating better, cooking more fresh stuff, costing you maybe another 5 hours. I also play both handball and volleyball, both adding up
Women ArtistsThe other day, I attempted to put together a huge list of some professional and semi-pro women artists over on my tumblr, because it seems like too often women get overlooked when it comes to being honored and recognized. This year, I was incredibly honored to be nominated for a Hugo award in the Best Professional Artist category, but I was a little shocked to find out there hadn’t been another woman nominated in that category since Rowena Morrill in 1986. That’s more than a little ridiculous, considering there are so many women artists out there who are all amazing, who offer unique points of view and design solutions, and who need more visibility and recognition. While putting this list together, I was really excited to find tons of new artists I'd never heard of before.Women Artists1 year ago in Personal More Like This

Sorry about the title. It was stuck in my head so I had to xDD.
note: Faving this journal might help with your exposure but it's solely up to your fellow deviants ~
It takes me a while to put these together, so if you commented on my other journal to be featured, please take a look at everyone else's work too. After all, it's only fair that way and if you don't, it's just a little selfish and your conscience will bug you . So yah, share the love, guys!
These are ordered first come first serve style; I will be showing around 50 pieces at one time (I still have a lot to go through and it adds up every time i put up a feature journal), and be featuring once a week as to not clog up your message boxes. It'll probably take ....a few months, so please be patient!

Preventing Injuries for Artists (and people who work with computers)
Hello there my fellow deviants, time for a new update. It’s a long entry, so go grab a snack and sit tight with a good posture, because there's a lot to learn here - even some anatomy.
I just read about Loish’s injury on her blog, and it’s truly saddening to see a fellow artist struggling with a physical limitation that affects their workflow.
Loish is absolutely right, the body has its limits and we ought to be careful before it’s too late.
Tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, aren’t stranger terms to me, many artists and people who work with computers for many hours, tend to deal with the same conditions, some let it advance to the stage where the only treatment is surgery, which can potentially reduce mobility and destroy an illustrator’s career.
Colorists: Having Difficulty Finding A Skintone? This happens to me all the time.Colorists: Having Difficulty Finding A Skintone?2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
I'm starting out an image, and for the life of me, I just cannot determine what color I should use for the skintone. I wish I had a crystal ball that would show me thirty minutes into the future so I can see just how a character will look after applying all the necessary shading, anatomical detailing, and highlights based upon the base color I use. A lot of times, it'll appear too faint, too desaturated, or on the flip side, way too bold and gleaming like a bronzed deity caked in a thick lathering of walrus grease.
Which is delicious, by the way.
FORTUNATELY! The folks at The Humanae Tumblr seemed to have a crystal ball of their own. Not so much one that shows the final product of my work, but one that certainly told them of my many incredibly frustrating endeavors into spending a good chunk of time shading a character's skin only to realize the base tone was absolute g

When I first sold LMS to Paramount, a lot of people asked me: "How much money did you get?" "You're probably rich now, right?"
I mean, the solid gold mansion I bought was just a little gift to myself...but...
Ever since I was little, I've known I wanted to draw. From the day my parents put a pencil in my hand, this was my future. I just knew it, I had that gut feeling. So I stuck to it, and thankfully it took me to heights I'd have never imagined possible. Now with my new book Redemption heading off to studios soon for a hopeful movie package, I can't wait to see where this new road takes me.
That said, there's something else that tops all of this.
The other night I went out to visit my girlfriend's cousin and her family. Incredibly kind people with very sweet kids. Other than the two parents, there were 3 kids, but the one who caught my interest was the eight-year old boy, Diego.
Diego, shy, tiny, slender, reminded me of myself when I was his a

TALENT IS EARNEDTalent is EarnedTALENT IS EARNED6 months ago in Personal More Like This
I get it. There are some people out there that do have some extreme capabilities right out of the womb, but this is targeted to those who are average joes, who think they can’t do things that a person with ‘Talent’ can.
Let’s start by defining the word ‘Talent’. According to dictionary.com it states
1. a special natural ability or aptitude: a talent for drawing.
2. a capacity for achievement or success; ability: young men of talent.
3. a talented person: The cast includes many of the theater’s major talents.
4. a group of persons with special ability: an exhibition of water colors by the local talent.
5. Movies and Television. professional actors collectively, especially star performers.
This definition, in my opinion, is misused when said to me. Because to me it implies that what I do, is specially natural to me and

Creative Near-Sightedness. Do you have it?Thanks to a brief comment recently made by a friend, it spurred me into coining the phrase 'Creative Near-Sightedness' to describe something I've battled with and continue to battle with, throughout my journey. I hope that this might make some sense to others out there and shed some similar light on your situation like it has mine.Creative Near-Sightedness. Do you have it?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I have achieved some of the big goals I've set myself in life, but have always had trouble with achieving some of the more creative goals, due to the fact that, they are often rather ambiguous to begin with, for example:
How do you quantify / visualize a goal like 'I want to be a good artist' when being good is completely relative?
So firstly I want to break it down into a couple of things that might seem simple commonsense, but in my case something I need to constantly remind myself of:
The first thing is: Keep the major goal clear and simple!
Something you can understand and describe to someone simply when they ask you 'but what actually is it?'

When I copied thumbs, then comments moved backward, so it's possible that I missed few thumbs here ). Hahaha... I think that this is the biggest number of thumbs which I posted here Enjoy

This was a drawing challenge from :iconSenshiStock: and :iconmostlyguystock:!
Hands and feet are pretty hard to draw. Lots of artists struggle with them! Even when other things come naturally, hands and feet can still be quite a problem. The best way to get better at drawing hands and feet is to study them!
The Challenge: Sketch or draw 50 feet AND 50 hands from reference photos or life.
Deadline: The deadline has passed for this challenge, but you can still participate and make yourself a better artist!
You can post them as one giant post, in groups, one at a time, however you want! But please make a FOLDER in your gallery and put them all in there then send me a link to the folder. (If you do one submission with ALL of them at once, then you don't need the folder.)
HOW TO QUALIFY: In order to make this a little easier for myself, please number yo

(Please note, I'm not necessarily talking about deviantart's critique system, though this certainly applies to it. I'm talking about all feedback, whether in comments or notes, in person, or on another site. Deviantart simply has a good format for others to leave feedback to an artist.)
In art school, you tend two get two different types of young artists: people who are infatuated with their work, and people who have no confidence in it at all. But really, it all boils down to the same thing: as artists, we are incredibly reliant on other people's judgement of our work for our self-esteem. It sounds a bit stupid, but I don't know that I've talked to any serious business artists who say otherwise (though if you do, please tell me). Artists often view their work as an extension of themselves, or their soul, poured out on paper. We seek other people's approval, b
Tutorials and techniquesQuite a lot of people keep asking me for tutorials and to be honest I see no point in creating yet another strip on how to paint skin/clothes/light/carrots/whatever. There are so many of them out there that it would be simply a waste of time to sit and basically copy what's already been told.Tutorials and techniques3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Instead, I've decided to make a compilation of different tutorials and charts that I personally use to learn how to paint.
The most important thing you need to learn even before starting to read a tutorial is that all walk-throughs are meant for you to understand how things work. My point is that after reading and later practicing a tutorial called 'how to paint a glass duck' you should be able to paint not only a glass duck but also anything else made of glass. You should concentrate on understanding the rules and patterns instead of trying to copy what you see on the image. Otherwise you'll end up knowing how to paint only a few things from only one perspective and one lightning pattern.

there has been a family health crisis which i will not explain in details , but suffice to say it caused certain expenses to stockpile so i had to focus on paid work.
so fat this situation seems to be calming down to an extent but it is not likely something that will simply pass
so i can not guarantee a vast improvement in the near future.
i do not need anything from anyone i am okay, i am not here to ask but simply to explain so calm down as i can see already some of you there lovingly throwing money at the screens ...braking screens..and then blaming me for more broken screens XD
new sunstone is coming tomorrow, i thought i would have it done today but the sheer amount of people in the next strip kinda slowed down the process so yes, tomorrow the new strip cometh, and then the one after it should be done within a week or so given that it is a breaking point and a very impor
Five Tips to Starting FreelancingSo, you're tired of being unemployed. You've been stuck at home for the umpteenth month in a row, a new season of The Legend of Korra is still a year off, and your government support checks (should you be lucky to still be getting them) won't even come close to affording you a bus ticket to Everfree Northwest. Your evaluation of life is the same dissertation of tedium and monotony as Helen Keller's review of Chinese Democracy.Five Tips to Starting Freelancing2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
You know, pretty much on par with every other review of Chinese Democracy.
But know what? If you can't find a job, you'll make a job! Screw finding work, and screw the employers who keep dismissing your applications for being "over qualified" like that Bachelors of Science in Graphic Design is as detrimental to your character as being a registered felon. Screw them and that stupid help wanted sign at Quiznos. Now you're freelancing, baby.

How to stay MotivatedHow to stay Motivated. How to stay Motivated7 months ago in Personal More Like This
I’m writing this article for the type of people who say that just can’t find motivation to:
Make a portfolio
Finish a painting
Work on their personal project
I got three tips I’m about to write, and it’s just advice and things that I found useful for myself. If you are capable to do any of these things you should definitely try them.
Fear. Get rid of it. If you are fearful of the outcome it will unmotivate you immediately. Just finish whatever it is and think about how you can improve after. If you can’t see what you need to improve ask someone else to tell you. There is always room to improve, and if you go into a critique with an open mind you will grow exponentially.
Think of it like this. If you were running one lap, and half way through you stopped because you were afraid you were going to throw up or pass out, you will never really know how fast you can run that lap. You didn’t push yours
