Bentos faits avec ma petite soeur.
Au programme :
- Onigiris (1 assaisonné avec le mélange du pêcheur, 1 au paprika, 1 avec une prune salée - umeboshi) décorés de jambon
- 2 mini-crumbles de tomates à l'anis étoilé sur lit de salade verte et olives noires
- tomates cerises
- crème brûlée au thym sur lit de fraises.


Bentos made friday ​​with my little sister :
- Onigiris (one seasonned with a mix of the fisherman, one with paprika and one with a salty plum - umeboshi) decorated with ham
- 2 mini crumbles tomatoes with star anise, on a bed of lettuce and black olives
- Cherry tomatoes
- Creme brulee with thyme on a bed of strawberries.

It was delicous !

My "second day back" bento. I don't stay long enough two days of the week to have to make bento and I don't have classes friday, so this is the first bento I had to make. For this bento I used left over Pork and Ginger Takikome Gohan. I used Youtube's Ochikeron's recipe here: [link]. Instead of using pickled plums though I used ginger. My mother and I are sick (me still) and I figured ginger would be good for the stomach. So here it is, this bento contains:

Pork and Ginger Takikome Gohan with Chopped Scallion, Sesame, and Cherry Tomato
Sautéed Cabbage, Scallion, Ginger, and Garlic Chips
2 Strawberries

:bulletred::bulletorange: In the Czech cuisine is cooked beef very popular and common dish. It is served with various sauces - champignon, horseradish, mushroom, dill, cucumber, onion, etc. In this case is the tomato sauce, which has sweet and sour flavor and is spiced with cinnamon.

Bento Specs:
Tofu presents with ham and spring onion ribbon.
Cucumber/carrot chimney.
Deli sliced beef for the sack.
Santa is made of rice, roasted seaweed and imitation crab meat. Pasted on by avocado "glue." Really just mashed up avocado with a little bit of lemon. Lemon has no purpose except I just prefer it by taste.
A mint and a salt candy and mixed lettuce leaves.

Last Thirsday, there were in my bento :
- californian maki with ginger, wasabi & soja sauce
- salade of tomatoe, orange pepper and hearts of palm
- some cherries :)

Home-made hot Cappuccino with a heart of cocoa on top.
Served with 2 fresh -store bought but taste like home made- brownie and dates cookies.

The cappuccino was made with an espresso machine I have at home. Coffee beans are bought fresh and grind at home. Milk foam is also created with a special device. Heart shape was made with a template/pattern (I don't know how to call it in English) I have at home.

I :heart: coffee!

I'm an artist but I also love cooking (and would be a chef if I weren't into animation more), and ever since I can remember myself - when I served my family food it had to look like it came out of a professional kitchen! I always used to make my little brother all kind of funny faces/animals/etc and used to sit next to him and make funny sounds, such as "no, don't eat me, please don't..." and when he put the food in his mouth I used to say "no, ah!!! help! the horror, ahhammammam.....".
Ok, we're a weird family.
But now reflecting back I regard not taking pictures of all those wonderful creations I used to do. So I started now (20 something years too late :-( ), and sad to say I don't cook like I used too, mostly because nowadays I eat alone most of the times (well, me and 2 cats, who don't care how their food look will like, as long as it's tuna or chicken!).
So anyway, I'll start posting some of the stuff I cooked up, literally speaking :-), hoping you'll like it.

This is a bastardized version for and if the Korean Kimbap (rice rolls in nori) and the Vietnamese Xoi Man (Sticky rice and Chinese sausages 'lap cheong') ever has a lovechild. It's about 4" in diameter and 8" in length. A monster. :)
Rolled sticky rice over the Chinese sausage, then nori, then thin sheet of chive omelette, then sticky rice again. Finally coating the whole thing with beaten egg mixture. Pan fried for about 5 minutes on each side to get it set.
Garnished with Thai sweet chili sauce, crispy fried baby shallots and minced spring onions.
