A Valentine Sonnet on BreathSometimes my words fail me when I need themA Valentine Sonnet on Breath2 years ago in The Great Valentine Exchange More Like This
(Like when I see your face framed in sunlight
And your eyes shine as though they were a gem
And the world suddenly seems to be right
Or when the blanket of night masks the sky
With a robust black and hides the Moon's face
Yet you remain still shining brightly - my
Guiding star that leads me home pace by pace -
Or when the trees grow old and their leaves fall
Yet roses bloom gracefully by your side
And capture my eyes with yours that enthrall)
And I can see only you as my bride.
You steal away my words and my breath too
And leave me just three words - "I love you."
