Hello from France ! I just learned about the contest, so there will be only one submission, for me. The idea is quite simple actually, but this is exactly how I see our task, as creative people. And, by the way, if you ask me "why did you draw a girl, when you're a guy ?" The answer would be obviously : because I am a guy !
What programs or tools did you use? Photoshop CS6 + Wacom Intuos 1 + Verve (a free amazing software you all should try)
Where did you find inspiration for your entry? Thinking about transformation is also thinking about what does not change. Actually everything changes, right ? So, if transformation defines life in general, the good question could be what remains after changes ? Or ... After life ? We are what we do, they say. There are so many ways to understand that, but for artists, definitely, his has a particular sense. We are what we create, and our creations are what will remain, hopefully. So, I think each time we are drawing or painting, or anything we create, we have to transform ourselves into the piece of creation itself. Even if it's only for a short moment. Because, of course, everything changes, right ? How long did it take to complete? approximately 2 days
Whew! I made it just in time! My submission for the Creatures of 9 Contest. Made from just bits and pieces of junk from around the apartment. I knew all that stuff would be good for something, someday. Good luck to all you other contestants! You guys make some really awesome art!
...man, now I gotta clean up this big mess I made. Somebody, beer me...
I seriously think that if you wear something it should (usually) "tell" what you feel/who you are.I haven't only put my personal touch here(front side), but I projected T-shirt thinking about DA artists that want to show its creativity,passion-whatever it is- drawing, photography or writing-I called it as an "essence".
Wanna say you're an artist? Or you just like dragons? So please vote to wear this! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I decided to try my chances in mythical creature challenge contest. Maybe only well-known artist on DA has real chances, but oh well, I'm curious how many people will like my project.
How I can leave that amazing theme?!
And also...Because this year is the year of dragon(exactly water dragon) since January I wanted to draw eastern dragon in my way This contest only made this though faster to draw.
Over 18 hours of work D: This is only because I cannot connect lines to create object to fill it with color- every time I'm trying to connect two lines my laptop restarts... Well, this grandpa has something about five years...
So I have to create object that will be a filling of for example a spike-it must have almost the same shape as lineart XO That's why every thing done in CorelDRAW takes more time than it should. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- sketch of a dragon done traditionally on A4 paper sheet; lineart and coloring in CorelDRAW 12 As I said, over 18 hours
