EDIT: Thanks for the info on reindeer gender-antler technicalities. I did learn this in my teens, but I just kind of enjoy drawing the deer as white-tails like I did as a kid. I know it's incorrect, but the nostalgia factor is more fun for me. Merry Christmas fellow biology nerds!
When I was would little, my obsessive love for Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer would inspire me to draw Santa's eight reindeer to string together for Christmas decorations around the house. Even as a kid, I wanted some of the reindeer to be girls (it only seemed fair) and Dancer, Vixen and Cupid where always featured without antlers to show Santa didn't discriminate against the does!
So here's sweet-natured Cupid to wish you Happy Holidays! Have a wonderful day, everyone!
Years later, Jim found me...I corresponded with Jim Henson when I was eleven. I know, it sounds unreal. But thanks to Karen Falk, archivist for the Jim Henson Company, I have the proof, a letter that's been lost to me for more than twenty years. I seriously encourage you to read my blog post about it, to see the letter I wrote Jim, the response he sent me, and to truly see how and why Jim Henson continues to inspire me and influence my work.Years later, Jim found me...1 year ago in Personal More Like This

“Have you heard of Patreon?”
“Why doesn’t your site have a Donate button?”
Put simply, I have this (evidently archaic) opinion that; if you want to make money, you have to do the work first. I don’t like the idea of taking money off people unless they get something for it immediately, not [insert timeframe here] down the line. It feels like a scam. That’s why I produce all those cheap digital comics: to finance my larger projects (and which is why I get pissed off when I find them being distributed freely online, because it slows everything down).
Even for large projects, like video-games that only have a niche audience and which big publishers won’t ever assist: I don’t see crowd funding as a particularly good way to go about getting production capital. I prefer the early release approach, such as that Mojang took with Minecraft.

Here is a great movie explaining what it is http://vimeo.com/31100268
Gosh how much I hate this insanely crave of protecting everything someone makes. Sharing is not that bad. Besides lots of things got more popular after it got shared. >:C
I have no problem with people sharing or uploading stuff I make to other places aslong as they dont claim it as their own. Which very very veeeery rarely happens. And when it does, its not like I take an arrow to the knee and die( SORRY I HAD TO I HATE THAT MEME BUT I HAD TO XDDDD! Man I cant stay serious for more than a few mins )
Im just spreading the word now after reading about it myself.
Dat is all :'D
The legends were true?!Geek culture has many myths and legends, ranging from fabled disks and cassettes containing unreleased sequels of beloved games to Easter Eggs found only within the code of early versions of certain titles. The legends were true?!6 months ago in Personal More Like This
The most well known of these legends, the Holy Grail, the Ark of the Covenant, The Excalibur of Geek mythology, is that of the lost E.T. Cartridges – arguably the worst video game in history - buried somewhere in the New Mexico desert.
Now, they’ve been hiding unwanted stuff out in the deserts of America as far back as 1923. When filming finished on Cecil B. DeMille’s The Ten Commandments, they worked out it’d be cheaper to just bury the set than dismantle it. This lent the E.T. Cart legend a little credibility, but even I was skeptical of anything ever being found….

Final Fantasy Tribute 10th anniversaryTen years ago today, I released an ambitious flash project set to a OCRemix track called "Final Fantasy 7 ROBO voice" (http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR00465/) by Joe Redifer. And a few days later, me and my old animator friend Richie "Pikanjo" Zirbies watched as it did the impossible: It got to the #1 spot on the internet's top Flash animation website Newgrounds.com. If you haven't guessed, 10 years ago I released "Final Fantasy Tribute" under my alter ego LegendaryFrog.Final Fantasy Tribute 10th anniversary2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It's hard not to start feeling reminiscent about the highs and lows of my time as a Flash animator, but I'm going to resist the urge to type a miniature novel on the subject. But what I WOULD like to do is thanks every single one of you for everything that's happened over that time. And a double thanks to the ones that still keep track of all the silly things I do. I've made so many friends over the years I can't even imagine me not releasing that video.
So let's take a trip dow
Why submit artwork to the internet? Why do you submit artwork to the internet? Why submit artwork to the internet?1 month ago in Personal More Like This
Do you do it for attention/notoriety/fame? To arouse or offend? To entertain?
Is it just a needs to an end - are your reasons purely financial or is it just a business exercise?
Do you feel the need to stamp your identity upon the internet - is it purely an exercise in exhibitionism?
Do you want to be the best - like no one ever was?
I personally believe people submit artwork to the internet for all of these reasons - and I think all of those reasons are valid in their own right. Not everybody shares that opinion though.
I frequent internet forums less than I used to - but I'm still haunted by much of the commentary I have experienced. Paraphrasing: "I only post artwork to the internet for the purposes of critique; Why else would I post artwork to the internet?"
It's a statement that has stuck in my head because in all honestly it's very rarely been a reason that I've submitted artwork to the internet. Of course I appreciate cons

"This is the only way I can see him!"
And he'll be like

and she'll start crying and then get over him and Edward will be murdered by the Red Sea
because Bella didn't go batshit to stop him.
And Sassy Gay Friend will steal away Jacob and be like

Anime and Cartoons And What I Think About ThemThis was prompted by a conversation I had today. Someone mentioned how they won't tune in for the second season of Space Dandy next month, because she was put off how there was no continuity in the first season. I was utterly dismayed at everyone to find that many people supported her reasoning and even replied to my post with troll image macros in response. .... first of all, that's not an answer, that's an immature way to shrug me off when I'm TRYING to actually give them a reply WITH SUBSTANCE! Second, there IS continuity in that show, it's just massively vague at this point. Third, it should be enjoyed as it is, and I get that if she doesn't find it funny, then that can be a valid excuse not to tune in. But the fourth of my reactions is what I really want to talk about here...Anime and Cartoons And What I Think About Them4 months ago in Personal More Like This
Why expect anime to have continuity, and Western cartoons NOT to have it? Adventuretime, Avatar, The Boondocks, Kim Possible, Doug, Steven Universe, and
One sixth's worth of a year's work.2014's off to a decent start. I've had some personal up's and down's, contending with personal issues mainly centered on being too hard on myself. Trying to work through that self-created pressure and find a new peaceful center. There's a lot of changes I need to make this year that I won't go into publicly yet, but I'm sure people've been curious as to what I've been up to.One sixth's worth of a year's work.8 months ago in Personal More Like This
It's funny, I remember in Elementary school I had a short-lived dream about wanting to run a TV channel with cartoons on it. I gave that dream up because I realized I was more interested in telling stories through shows; so far TOME and my work before it has been the closest thing to being able to live that out. I've kept up on releasing TOME videos every Thursday since the year began.
In tandem with that, I've also been releasing commentary versions of the full episode videos exclusively to the TOME official website. At the moment,

My Progression as an Animator at DisneyA friend of mine is writing a book on animation fundamentals and asked me for a "paragraph or two" (which I can't do) on the subject of timing. I considered it and ended up writing about my progression of learning while a Disney animator in the traditional animation days. It was good therapy for me to really think this through and consider the order of things. I hope you enjoy it. "Like" or "fav" this so others will see it too. My Progression As A Disney Animator
by Tom Bancroft
Walt Disney is quoted as saying that it takes 10 years to make a great animator.
When I was first coming out of California Institute of the Arts and joining a Disney internship in 1988, hearing that quote was devastating. 10 years? That's FOREVER! I wanted to be a full-fledged Disney animator in TWO years! I rationalized that that was a way of thinking from the 40s and today, we move at a quicker pace, so-

Now, I will defend the intelligence of Americans until the day I die. Much of my favourite writing, movies, games, comics and music comes from over there. They're not an inately stupid people. Every nation has its morons. It's just American morons are the f**king benchmark.
Titillation vs. SexismBoobs.Titillation vs. Sexism2 weeks ago in Personal More Like This
Guys are fascinated by them.
Through single-digit ages, they find the very concept of them hilarious, and when puberty kicks in the mere thought of lady-lumps generally causes some movement in the trouser department. These weak-willed creatures will follow them anywhere and they will do almost anything if it means simply being permitted to gaze upon them for a few moments more.
The entertainment industries, from the big movie makers to the lowly art whores (like me) know this, and have played upon it for years in order to separate males from their money. As a result, mass media is awash with the female form in all manner of provocative poses and dress.
Many women are fed up with this, but is the whole thing “sexist”?
Well, it’s impossible and indeed wrong to say a whole industry is one thing or another. Ultimately it’s all one, big, dumb organism that simply moves with the cultural winds. It perpetuates what sustains it. It’s only when you break it

Just watched Asylum of the Daleks with my aunt (who wasn't into it) and little sister (who was). It was amazing. It was one of my favorite things that I've done for a while. At first, I didn't think it was quite so great (because it was slightly confusing; that's the beauty of the show, though, it takes a whole bunch of things that don't make sense and it makes them make sense by the end). But now I have high, high hopes for Series 7.
I just want to know what's up with Oswin Oswald. My sister and I were making up a whole bunch of theories (one of which I very much like and that I'll make a post of later). I was excited by the fact that we're seeing her much sooner than we thought we would. Oh, Moffat, your ability to make awesomely confusing plot twists will never
