Here come the men, they understand
Each other's need for other men
For all alone there's no defense
There's no saviours
Here come the dogs they're on the path
They sense each other's comfort breath
They're sickly drunk with confidence
So give it up
It's not the way they change, but how they stay the same
In the coldness of the hollow streets here
Here come the men they're in their cars
Here come the men with scarecrow arms
Here come the men, let's be alarmed
As the contest begins
Get on the daisy chain, and forfeit sense for gain
In the coldness of the hollow streets here

Comment Counts Under Thumbs (Beta Testers Only)
We just released a new feature to Beta Testers that adds more context to the experience of viewing artwork on deviantART. You'll now find comment counts underneath the thumbnails of deviations -- they can be seen when browsing or searching art, and also display in your Message Center. We hope this feature will help bring to light the fact that there is a whole world of activity that takes place behind thumbnails. In some cases, when a thumbnail displays many comments, it can be a trigger to join the discussion. Whi

Cthulhu is Still Calling
Written By techgnotic
Having been thinking a lot about the origins of our globally held Dragon mythos in a recent article Reptilicus Infernicus, I couldn’t help but notice the Cthulhu legend was always lurking at the edges of my mind as I was researching the subject matter.
The Enemy at the Gates, the “Other”, forever lurking in the darkness and plotting an invasion most evil and an enslavement most hideous, is probably the original seminal “narrative” that was born when humans first acq

Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be another “ism” on the art world horizon, what with the growing accessibility of all
art technique and technology rendering all the “schools of art” equally available and doable and therefore making impossible the dominance
or even existence of any current art “movement” … comes “suggestivism,” the “ism” best summing up what art is in our lives today, defined
more by what it is not, rather than what it is.

As always~ English is not my native language so you might come across mistakes. My apologies! If anything is unclear feel free to ask me in the comments.
I'm just showing you what works for me and what's my personal liking. I'm focusing on eye make-up and additional tips. If you think this way of doing a boys cosplay make-up is is using way too much make-up that's totally fine. Everyone has his/her own preferences and this tutorial is just a hint who it can be done.
The shape of eyes differ a lot from one to another, so if you want to try it the way I do my make-up you might have to adjust it to your own eyes. Maybe you have already run into this problem before while seeing a well done eye make-up in a tutorial or worn by an asian cosplayer. Furthermore be aware of the fact that the shape of your eyebrows, wearing c

If you are able to understand German you can go to my Animexx weblog and read it there :3 Unfortunately dA doesn't support embedding my pics into the text so I had to put them directly over/under the text. Sorry for that!
I'm just showing you what works for me, so this is a "you can try this" and not a "this is the only way you can do it".
As you might know wigs are made out of plastic fibers. Plastic is a heat bendable material, so this is the essence of the both methods I will show you. Styling your wig with heat will also work for curling it, making spikes and so on. Please be careful whenev
11 Photos of the Week 2: Ghosts Hi everyone. This week the theme is ghosts! Also I decided to do 11 instead of 10 because I'm very creative. I like the idea of ghosts but I've never experienced a ghost. I want to keep it that way. All of these photos have such a mysterious yearning to them. Yearning for more. It is hard to express how much I love these photos. They make me think of fog or someone who is lost. They want to find themselves but can't.11 Photos of the Week 2: Ghosts1 month ago in Personal More Like This

News from me to youHi guys,News from me to you3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So It's been over a month since I move to Italy. And altought I feel like I've lived here forever I'm starting to feel how my supresings feelings of loneliness, lonesome, fright and sadness starts to full me. Getting closer and closer to a feeling overdose. I've been avoiding to write, I feel like If I put things down then It would suddenly feel even more real. And right now I've been spending the last 3 months avoiding overwhelming feelings as much as I can.
I'm really enjoying Milano. It's a bit less "city-exploding life and color and speed from every corner" than I image, but It's a completely new experience.
I got the chance to do my first Test shoot with a lovely American Model, and I got two more offers to work with people here.
I start to feel like people actually can like my work! Gosh! So reassuring!
I'm also planning on meeting some new nice photographers on the area (If I ever made it to respond

"Scars can come in handy. I have one myself above my left knee that is a perfect map of the London Underground."—Prof. Albus Dumbledore
Early life becomes an exploration of invisible parameters, circles beyond circles, as one pushes out to test the boundaries of safety. There is one’s bedroom, one’s home, neighborhood, school and town, state and nation. Early on, maps become important documents – declarations of being and rights and privileges. In the art world, throughout history, maps have been a constant measure of human progress, from the Phoenecians recording their trade routes over 2000 years ago, or pre-Columbian times in which map

Robert shot an action-packed short film called Two Scoops, starring twins Lola and Lucia who operate an ice cream truck by day and happen to also be monster-slayers. Fans contributed to the project by submitting films, Tweeting their ideas for super-weapons, creating the fiercest monsters, and sending in their photos to appear on Missing Person posters.
We're excited to announce that the collaboration is now complete! You can see the finished film right here, along with the best contributions from fans, and documentary footage to tell the story of the project.
Tribute to Charles Bukowski: Aug 1920-Mar 1994The Poet that inspired me to write, not because I love writing, or that he inspired a love of writing within me. I wrote before I saw his work, but his work fundamentally changed the way I thought about writing. His work inspired within me a method of venting my pain and rage, my darkness and my sickness, and my disgust with the world around me (all one in the same illness, and more than enough to kill me, as I look back on it).Tribute to Charles Bukowski: Aug 1920-Mar 19942 years ago in Personal More Like This
He spoke for the downtrodden, he spoke against government corruption. He spoke of madness and self sacrifice, and he spoke of greed and cruelty. Mostly, he spoke to me across generations. With a pen in the mid 20th century, he spoke to me in the 21st century.
I never knew his name, the cover of the book, and several of the first and last pages were missing, but today I remembered, and looked online. Trying to link remembered fragments of poetry to an identity. After an infuriatingly seemingly futile search, I finally found him, dead. Not much of a surprise ther

Fan Art Law
Mon Sep 10, 2012 by techgnotic
t seems there’s nothing quite as dear to the hearts of many of our deviants as their production of fan art, and at the same time, there is nothing so knotted with legal and ethical headaches. Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but in the form of fan art it has also become one of the most frustratingly complicated. At some point, the sheer volume of fan art around a single property may become so large that the issue rises to another level of scrutiny by the creators of the original work.
With this dynamic in mind, we thought the following panel that Josh Wattles, our Advisor In Chief here at deviantART, and a mystery guest named Harold Smith, gave at Comic Con this year might be of immense help in understanding the ever evolving elements of fan art
