It was supposed to be the last picture in my Fallout series. Farewell to the subject, that was an unfailing source of inspiration for half a year.
But you know what? While I was drawing the pic, the inspiration mysteriously returned! I hope it'll stay for a while. Not really sure what kind of inspiration it is - the fallout one again, or just the desire to draw melancholy black and white pictures. We'll see.
And yes, I'm lonely. That's why I draw that kinda bullshit.

We have this thing at Sheridan called "The Mighty Wall", where a theme is posted up every month and students are encouraged to put up drawings based upon that theme.
This months theme is "Super Hero Summer Vacation", so this is what I whipped up for it. I was originally just going to paint Bats and Robin and leave the background white, but I later changed my mind and threw in some watercolour experiments. I'm definitely going to try doing a bit more with using watercolour for environments and then calling out details with gouache! I think it's worth playing around with to see what I can get out of using the two mediums together. I also want to do some really loose paintings sometime soon. I think I get too hung up on the tiny stuff sometimes and then the piece ends up loosing some of the energy from the original sketch.
