This is Lisa Simpson from Konami's classic arcade brawler based on the very funny TV show. Just because Lisa is a mature, intelligent little girl doesn't mean she can't use a jump rope as a whip and kick some ass.
This was another challenging project because of the large protruding jump rope. I think it turned out quite well.
--- I do commissions. See my profile page for details.
I realized that I somehow never uploaded this, even though it's at least 3 years old. Thought it might be helpful to some of you.
Only change I would make after actually using this prop: don't use balsa wood. Take the extra time and effort to make all the wood bits out of a sturdier material, because this damn thing breaks ALL the TIME.
Edit: I was asked how to figure out the scale of a prop, particularly for someone who isn't necessarily good at drawing. If you are interested in my response, see my reply here: [link]
This is the most ambitious hoop I’ve done to date. It took, like, a thousand hours to make but in the end it was totally worth it. Lisa Simpson has been a role model to me since I was 5 years old and I would like to think has been an inspiration to a generation of girls to embrace who they are and to pursue knowledge and truth. She will forever be my Queen.
(this hoop is going on my wall and is not for sale. sorry, guyz.)
Considering how big of a Simpsons fan I am, I decided to do a Halloween set based on the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror specials. I was hoping to have about 10 plush in the set, but after the accident, I didn't have as much time as I would have liked.
The Joy of Cooking Milhouse book- Treehouse of Horror V: Nightmare Cafeteria
King Snorky- Treehouse of Horror VI: The Night of the Dolphin
The Grand Pumpkin- Treehouse of Horror XIX: It's the Grand Pumpkin, Milhouse
