We've finally discovered the location of the "Nightmare", she lies hidden in a Nebula, licking her wounds... Now is the time to strike, whilst the beast is wounded we'll seize her for ourselves! Our main targets are the areas around the scaffolding, Bombers, your objective is to create a breach big enough to get infantry transports through, and then engage the enemy Star Destroyer escorts. Spotter Squadron, your ships are carrying Buoys, we have a few battle-cruisers hidden deep within the Nebula, they'll lock onto those buoys after they've been deployed, you'll drop them near the enemy's Star Destroyer escorts. Infantry, once you're inside your goal is to capture key system controls, weapons systems being priority, once you have control of their weapons turn them on their fleet to draw pressure off our fighters, I doubt they'll fire on their own flagship, it's the backbone of their fleet, once it falls they'll either surrender, or flee. Everyone else, do your best to provide cover. One final word, do not attempt to take the Bridge until I've boarded, "Nightmare" is commanded by a Dark Jedi, she's inexperienced at command, and mentally unstable, but incredibly powerful in close combat and the Force, I will take her myself. -Quinn Shara, Operation: Dream Catcher briefing. -------
Yay, Star Wars OC stuffs! This is an operation where Quinn's star shines it's brightest, her most ambitious undertaking, and greatest personal triumph (besides raising Orchid), the capture of the Super Star Destroyer Nightmare and it's fleet, as well as the surrender of her rival Kiri Starchaser.
Let's recap: After Endor Kiri fled, with the Emperor dead she had no one to guide her, she was lost, but was eventually picked up by a warlord named Erbon, formerly an Admiral in Palpatine's Navy, he used his fleet to declare himself a regional warlord and began vying for power, Kiri was enraged by this prospect, and murdered him, seizing control of his fleet for herself, however she had never commanded a fleet before, and without the dark influence of the Emperor her mental state was in decline. She lead a short, violent campaign with the fleet against the Alliance, her victories were ultimately insignificant however as her inexperience lead to her own forces sustaining substantial damage, eventually her near-crippled flagship was forced into hiding.
In a bold attempt to seize assets for the Alliance to restore the Republic, Quinn planned an ambitious strategy to seize the fleet, however her true motive was to confront Kiri, and redeem her; at Endor she had sensed what Kiri really was, a scared girl trapped in darkness, she now wanted only to save her from her misery, and train her to use the Force for good.
After the operation the captured Super Star Destroyer was renamed Goldsaber in honour of Quinn's Goldsaber Squadron, however it's name would be changed two more times during it's New Republic service, after the death of the redeemed Kiri Starchaser during the Yuuzhan Vong war it was renamed the Starchaser in her memory, years later in ABY-41, after Quinn gave her life fighting a Sith acolyte, it was renamed Shara's Legacy to commemorate all her achievements, it carried that name until it's eventual destruction a few decades later. ------- Phew! This was fun, a little tricky getting the perspectives of the ships right, and the little details, but yeah, it was fun. The idea wasn't actually inspired from anything Star Wars, but rather the second Attack on Titan opening theme! www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxOpp_… I listened to it again recently and (Particularly around 0:45) imagined hundreds of X-Wings flying at blistering speeds through a brilliant golden nebula to engage a massive Imperial force, and viola', this was born. ^_^ Gotta say, of all the awesome Star Wars ships X-wings and Y-wings are still my favourite, they got that retro vibe, like a Vespa-scooter, or a Volkswagen-camper, y'know? And yeah, if you read the above you can probably tell that the Extended Universe is still my headcanon.
I like how Quinn looks in the corner, she's issuing the order to CHARGE! XD I gave her helmet an old Jedi insignia on the side too, cuz' y'know, she's a Jedi. Also I really love the Imperial Battle-Cruiser's design, so I had to draw a few flanking the Nightmare.
Anyway, though the background is blergh, I'm happy enough with everything else, and I hope ya'll like!
Ruby Weapon is one of the two superbosses of Final Fantasy VII, along with the Emerald Weapon. In Final Fantasy VII, it is one of the two Weapons added in the American, PAL and International versions of the game. Ruby Weapon is one of five Weapons the Planet has produced and dispatched to cleanse any threats to its continued existence.
Ruby Weapon is an optional boss that resides in the sand around the Gold Saucer in the game's later discs. The player can only approach it by airship or chocobo. It can permanently eject party members from battle, has extremely high defence, inflict targets with status effects by its tentacles, and uses some of the strongest attacks in the game.
This is a commission that I was hired to create by and recently completed. I drew an original Jedi character. I mainly went by some of the artwork I saw of how this character had previously been drawn and took a few liberties here and there. Her outfit has a bit more of a Han Solo rogue-esque style, so I went with that as inspiration.
I also tried something a little new to mimic the glow of the light saber in a black and white form. I hope everyone enjoys it, and I'd always like to hear your comments on the piece.
I thought about putting in a word balloon on this one... but I couldn't choose one...
"You are part of the rebel alliance and a traitor, TAKE HER AWAY!!!"
"Darth Vader, only you could be so bold. The imperial Senate will not sit still for this. When they hear you attacked a councilors ship on a diplomatic mission..." (nah, too many words won't fit in a word balloon.)
I'm writing these from memory, may be inaccurate... how bout:
"Your not going out like that young lady. You march right back up there and put a bra on!!! TAKE HER AWAY!!!"
Really truly though folks... Carrie Fisher said that George said there are no bras in space and she was just walking around tapped up the ENTIRE movie. Also there was digital nipple removal.
Do you think George Lucas knew that Vader was Leia's father when he filmed this? I don't.
Any body else have any funny captions???
I guess this was Star Wars week... If I knew that before I started posting these I would have announced it as such or something... ^_^
This is now a dead project (well, it's dead-ish. It was a Poser Pro 2010 issue and opens in later/earlier versions). I had meant to make a picture of Roy Fokker buzzing Hikaru's Vermilion Squadron with a detailed background, but the Poser file will no longer open, and this pic was the last one I was able to render. Maybe because the un-optimized Valkyries combined have an insane number of material zones.
Although I made these main characters' Valkyrie paint schemes long ago for fun, I had never really intended to depict canon Macross pilots themselves.
I should note that I borrowed the VF-1S head from the Battroid by spanki and mechmaster, www.sharecg.com/v/49933/browse… because I haven't built that head yet.
Rendered in Poser Pro 2010 (unfortunately), Modeled in 3ds max.
