the choice was simple

I'm lost inside this void
I call my home
Nothing fits into place
I am a lost soul
Left to wonder
This place alone
You were everything to me
You're were my rock
Someone I could lean on
Someone who I told all my secrets to
And who I trusted with my life
But then you left me
In my darkest hour
I cried out to you
But you ignored me
You just got up
From your place on the ground
And walked away
Leaving me behind
You didn't look back at me
Even as I was down on my knees
Begging for you to stay
I cried many tears
Just thinking of you
I pray every night
That you'll come back to me
But I know
I will never see you again
You've made your choice
Now I must make mine
I just can't sit around
And cry for you anymore
I have to stand up
On my own two feet
And I now have to learn
How to fight my own battles
I got too use to
always having you around
I always ran to you
So you could fix my problems for me
But now I know
That's what drove you away

Miserable Because of LoveSlowly life is losing its meaning,Miserable Because of Love2 years ago in Concrete Poetry More Like This
I hear my wishes their last song singing.
Ah, love, to what have you brought me?
With one deadly arrow you have shot me.
By the World itself forgotten,
Nowhere near to her I have gotten.
Everything is silent, but my beating heart,
I fear, from love, it will fall apart.
I have lost all hopes, but I do not care,
Since life to me has never been fair.
A miserable poet slowly fading,
Not even heaven for him is waiting.
She will never hear me, I see,
How cruel life can be!
True love has brought me pain,
Alive I barely now remain.
One word from her is just enough,
To ease the agony of love.
Alas, that will not be,
From chains my heart will not be free.

I stand on the porch and stare.
Awaiting your return.
You said you'd be back.
I said I'll wait.
Then you go off and leave me.
And my heart begins to break.
You've been gone three years now.
Longer than you told me.
You said five months.
And now my soul pays the price.
I said my love was eternal.
That I would never love anyone else.
But now I'm starting to doubt that.
With you gone for so long.
My love still holds strong.
To this day it's true.
Knowing one day you'll come back.
And I'll be waiting.
But for now, as I stand on the porch.
Staring out, waiting for a sign.
I'm doubting our love.
And think you've left me...
For in that final moment,
When our hands last meet.
I felt a surge of regret,
But I'll be here waiting.

Dips into the horizon
throwing out splashes of color
berry bright red
tongues of orange flame
the blue of the night sky
reaching out to engulf

and you can see the first glimmers of stars
and the final rays
of the dying sun
as it sinks beneath the horizon
throwing out colors
as if onto a painter's palette
the last attempt
to hold onto the light
a final flash

What about a man
Who follows you around,
Only to stare blankly at you
And make you go insane...?
Whatever you think...
I may seem like a monster,
But just give me a chance.
Take my hand,
And I'll show you
The time of your life
Even if you lose it.
You look at me...
And see a monster,
A slender man,
Who's nothing more...
Than a soul stealer.

Laugh, Little Girl
They're smiling and talking to you
Your friends invite you to join them
I get a glimpse of pain in your eyes, teary, wet and blue

Your walking down a street
You come upon an empty building
You start running as I hear the shuffle of your feet
No, Little Girl
You can't jump, it's not right
I hear your cries calling for help
As you take that step, I jump instead, also, giving up that fight
Good-bye Little Girl
I see you weeping at my grave
You've noticed me, too, all along
Your not disappointed or sobbing, cause now your happy you're saved
So now Little Girl
Go on, ask someone for guidance
Now that you know I was on your side
Go on, and live the second chance

They mean nothing to me anymore.
Only a white noise in this state of blackened Hell.
A deep sound can also be heard, but no one believes me.
Unfortunately, I cannot tear my eyes from what looms ahead of me.
I can feel its eyes burning into me, searching for something.
Frustrated, for it cannot find what it is looking for.
And it frightens me like nothing else.
I panic once again at the unknown creature.
But my legs, unwilling to move, stay grounded where I stand.
I can feel my breathing becoming more rapid.
My sight has begun to fade and distort my surroundings.
Finally, I can see through my deformed vision, a smile,
One that would otherwise send me in into a feeling of despair
A toothy grin with sharp pointed fangs,
That seemed to glisten even though no light source exists.

She was the reason I rose,
He brought the worst out of me,
She brought the goodness out of me,
I feel this feeling I have never felt before,
My heart is racing,
I see his horns withering into nothing,
I see her wings detaching from her,
His demonic face was turning angelic,
Her angelic face was turning demonic,
His dark skin was paling,
Her glow was dulling,
He was becoming a demonic mortal,
She was becoming a angelic mortal,
Together this was mortal love.

My heart and soul were eroded away to something much less
So silly of me to think I could find happiness
Such a fruitless sojourn it was
How cruel you are to indulge in my incogitant pursuit
What a fool I am to bask in such lunacy
Even in this constant and inexplicable pain
We will continue to bear it alone
There is no relinquishment of this task
I know I'll be fine, In spite of my apathy
Because I love you, after all
I'm still unsure if you this emotion is returned
But if you do, I don't want to hear you say it
Because if you do, it will be reckless
And if you do, I'm afraid that I just might believe you
And so, this is my obituary and our solemn requiem
Broken PiecesBroken PiecesBroken Pieces1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
Is a very fragile object.
Yet people foolishly give it away.
Yet I foolishly gave it away.
I trusted him
Not to drop it.
But he did.
It fell and shattered
Into a million little,
Then he walked over it.
Not knowing how much it hurt.
And it stays that way.
He asked and I didn't tell.
He doesn't need to know.
It'll only bring him pain.
So in silence,
I collect the broken pieces
Of my fragile heart
And try to fix it.
With gentle hands,
I try to put the pieces together.
But they shake too much
And the pieces fall again.
I try once more
Through the pain.
Through the tears...
Slowly I put the pieces together
And my heart begins to heal.
Now all that's left
Is one more piece.
I hold it in my hand
And stare at it.
This last piece
Could finally fix my broken heart.
Or it could destroy it again.
Should I take the chance?
Would it be worth it?
Could it be worth it?
Will I ever be able
To love again?
Or will my heart remain
In broken pieces?
