The energy blast, a searing, roiling stream of super-heated gas and plasma, tore a deep furrow in the road ahead as Arcee, currently in her mobile form, slipped sides-way, undercutting the shot in a maneuver which would have been deemed impossible by even the most skilled driver on the planet. Tires spinning, the Autobot's second in command peeled forward, doubling her land speed in an attempt to not only outpace the three Eradicons hot on her cybernetic heels but to better safeguard the young human presently straddling the rider's seat.
"I told you we shouldn't have made that pit stop. We weren't that far from HQ!" Arcee shouted over the com-channel built into the rider's helmet. "You humans and your needs." She finished as though speaking through gritted teeth.
"Oh save it," Jack responded in kind. "Look, humans can't exactly not go to the bathroom. Trust me, the alternative isn't ve

Death of Kat
I leaned back against the wall.
My mind throbbed over these past hours.
These missions are starting to take a massive toll on me.
I breathed in and out...
I looked around the room that the rest of Noble Team have been holding out in.
I can see Carter, Noble's leader, staring out at the almost-completely ruins of New Alexandria...
I can see Kat, Noble's co-leader and intelligence specialist, working her way on fixing with a comm unit...
I can see Jun, Noble's best sniper, watching for movement with a pair of binoculars within the ruins...
I can see Emile, Noble's assault specialist, sharpening his kukri against his shoulder armor at the other side of us...
There is one more Noble that should have been here.
And that's Jorge, Noble's heavy weapon specialist...
Ever since Operation: UPPERCUT, my heart was hurting me.
Ever since his loss, I just wanted revenge to those who sent us on that suicide mission!
But a mission is a mission... and we must carry them o

World population exceeds ten billion. It would be more, save for the massive famines and plagues striking malnutrition-weakened populations. Overall, however, population continues to grow, if more slowly than before.
Global warming is advanced. Agriculture production has dwindled in many areas ravaged by drought, and in others (such as the interior of East Africa) devastated by floods. And then there are the industrial chemicals, the radioactivity, the acid rain, the ozone hole, the mutated insects…
Two major cultural trends of OTL were not duplicated. Environmentalism never really gained momentum until too late: the oil embargo never took place, and in an environment in which it was assumed “continued growth” was the solution to all ills, what was a bit more pollution or a bit more CO2 in the air? Feminism also failed to get much traction in a world where there was less need for a second income bringer and the pill and other forms of birth

He knelt down looking down at her visor. It took only a fraction of a second for him to realize what had happened.
Anger spread through his veins at the realization. Without a second thought he grabbed the pistol from her hip, the one she always used. He turned the gun skyward to the hovering phantom. Six spotted the sniper perched on its side. In his fury he couldn't identify species or rank, only that it carried a needler rifle.
Six fired, slightly aware of the battle rifle fire from the rest of the team. The phantom rose and started to turn away. The figure slipped back into the protection of the ship. Six's pistol clicked empty and he cursed.

The six year old girl stared in fearful awe through the window of the steadily sinking suburban. Blood from ther cut on her forehead stained her blonde curls and dripped into her watery aqua eyes.
Moments before, her parents and baby brother were on their way to meet her uncle Frances, who was returining home from a military release. The next thing she knew, the vehicle was thrown off the bridge and into the river by a loud and bright explosion.
Her parents remained in thier seats covered in blood, but they were dead. Her baby brother, also presumed dead, was no where to be seen.
Brilliant blue and pink lights continued to dance above the surface of the water as they sank. She screamed as more vehicles and torn up bodies entered the river that was becoming red with blood.

My databases indicate that valentines such as these are typically exchanged by human children. Now, I realize you are not a child, but if you have received this…thing…from a human male of your species and are attempting to show it off, then let me assure you that I am not impressed.”

Had they been hit?
She regained her senses slowly- noting the sharp ache of her skull, the ringing in her ears and the acrid stench of plasma and coolant.
Her Navy experience quickly kicked in- there was still air. That was a good sign. There was still gravity- the ship must be at least mostly in one piece.
Grunwald scanned around the bridge, searching for the source of the blast, but thick smoke obscured her vision. As sounds returned to her, muffled and distant, she began to make out the fires sprouting from consoles, licking the low ceiling before being smothered b

Xipher took his stance on the other side and cracked a smile. “Yep.” A hand of stone suddenly erupted from the ground.
She jumped out of the way before it could grab her. “Too slow,” she mocked, and then drew out her water swords. They glowed and shot a powerful jet of water. A slab of stone came out of the ground and blocked the attack. He was p

Hunting without Katniss is weird though. His forte is simply being mellow.
His heart knows not of the vigor of more,
Only complacency was what it bore.
When he comes up in a conversation
His existence is often in question
But little do they know he that he wants this
Cuz' to him, anonymity is bliss.
He leads a lonely life, make no mistake,
He can not risk potential for heart break
But he does not know that pain is still there,
It's just buried in the desolate square
Inside his soul where his love should exist,
But he does not know it should be missed.
If only someone could coax him to live,
Someone special, someone with love to give.
Pain can come to those who live in the sun,
In darkness he stays, his story is done.

When you look at me
Would you expect that I feel your sorrows?
When I'm in a crowd,
I feel mixed emotions.
Walking through the school hallway
I pass by two laughing guys
I begin to feel giddy and happy
I pass by two trying to kiss
My body tenses as I catch their eyes
Trying to wait for the right moment
I pass by a solemn face
My heart aches as sadness overwhelms me.
I feel your sadness.
I feel your pain.
Moving through the hall
I try to avoid another's touch
In fear of their emotions sticking with me.
Trying to block out everyone
My minds in conflict
Since when were this many?
It would make sense, I suppose.
I mean it is school.
My body's weak,

Trying to keep it bay.
Trying to filter out others.

I want you to smile.

Mysterious and ever-moving, time is an element that escapes most magicians' level of control. It surprises some, therefore, upon learning that the control of time goes hand-in-hand with the control of its brother element, space. All life is subject to the flow of time, as all lives eventually will end when one's time runs out, making the few guardians of time, be it of the Keepers devoted to the times of life and days, or the Keepers of Life and Death itself devoted to beginnings and endings respectively, truly venerated. These people guide time's flow forwards and backwards, speeding its steady stream into rapids, or slowing it to the point of freezing it still. Some of the truly gifted can create tears in space-time to banish their foes, or even foresee their ultimate fates. All physical elements are subject to time's relentless flow, and thus find weakness in time. Only in darkness does time find its own undoing as its clock is disrupted and deceived by darkness' infinite shadow.

I learned from a very wise professor that we often have our mindset backwards. "Have-Do-Be" we have to have something, in order to do the things we need to do, to be what we set out to be. Thus if we don't have, we can't do, and if we can't do, then we can't be. "I can't draw a comic because I don't know how." The successors in the world, reverse that th
