Trying to learn how to draw a better Mickey Mouse by sketching headshots from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, which is a CG kiddie show starring Mickey and friends for those who don't know. Over the course of the 3 pages I find that the sketches are becoming less stiff.
Someone somewhere once said that if an anthropomorphic animal has no animal qualities (or references to things dealing with the animal, for that matter), then it may as well not be an animal at all, and I thought to myself, "Hmm, like Mickey Mouse..."
Finally got around to making this fanart. I was originally intending it to be more vector-ish like my Negaduck pic, but I got carried away near the end there. I've been studying some Photoshop trickery in a cool book I picked up to learn things like custom brushes and creating textures and whatnot, so this was good for practicing that stuff.
I don't mean to be repetitive with this Mickey carrying Minnie thing, I really don't. It was an accident. Let me explain. T_T
Okay so I've had about a million better ideas than this swimming in my head forever. But all last week every time I tried drawing, like, anything, it would come out as complete and utter poison. So I says to myself, THE next thing that I draw that ends up looking decent, I'm going to color it. Low and behold, it turns out to be a small throwaway doodle of, lol, Mickey carrying Minnie (but on his shoulders this time ooooohhhh).
Well, in an effort to make it more interesting I started putting them in 40s clothes (a mechanic and...a switchboard operator? Haha), and that in turn gave me the idea to make it into Disney WWII propaganda, because for some strange reason I've always been really attracted to the art that you find on those. Unfortunately this looks nothing like one of those, haha, because I've never tried dirty, dry brush shading before and I used lame-o default Photoshop brushes. Oh, well. I finished something and now it's on to more creative things. :3
Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto are property of The Walt Disney Company. And I drawed tha pitchur.
