Recent Dangerous Virus/Worms on DeviantartRecently, over the past couple of weeks or so a number of people have been getting attacked by a virus while on Deviantart. This has resulted in said people having to do 'system restores' and even having to go as far as reformatting.Recent Dangerous Virus/Worms on Deviantart5 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Some have been known to pop up as a deceiving "windows update" popup of some sort while browsing DA or upon full viewing deviations.
I have received numerous pop-up warnings while on the Deviant art website regarding these.
I created this news article in hopes that the community would become more aware of it and take precautions in making sure you have virus protection. Malawarebytes has been a known solution, but people have had trouble installing after being attacked by the virus.
I hope people will spread this information if they find they have had attacks as well, not to spread fear but to inform others of what is going on and could happen.
Those who have been attacked are now too afraid to go on Deviantart after being attacked once, and I would hate t
AMAZING CHANCE ENCOUNTERAmazing.AMAZING CHANCE ENCOUNTER5 months ago in Personal More Like This
I know, it's name-dropping, sure, but it's also a chance in a bazillion...
I spotted Guillermo Del Toro at Oakland airport yesterday.
For whatever reason I felt compelled just to say hello, or forever kick myself. So…
"Mr Del Toro?"
"I just wanted to say hello. I believe we have some mutual friends…" and so it went for about three minutes.
I didn't want to push my luck, and everybody deserves their privacy. He was gracious, charming, and interested in who I was - which I believe says a lot about anybody. (My wife once put it very clearly - "it's as important to be interested as it is to be interesting…")
I was thrilled.
Soon we parted ways.
I emailed some friends like the big kid I am, grinning ear to ear.
Then I queued up for boarding.
By chance I had A1 - the first in line - and when I boarded...
there he was!
I asked if he minded if I sat next to him and he very warmly said no, not at all!
Long story short, we chatted like old friends
It's That Time Once MoreHello all! It's That Time Once More2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Concerning my last journal post, I've been having quite the difficult time on resolution numero dos--that being to doodle at least once per day to sharpen skills and heighten activity on this page. Sadly, it seems that I've lacked, err, "proper" inspiration as I have completely seem to have lost motivation to draw or doodle in the slightest. And anything I currently produce is not up to par with my earlier works.
However, there seems to be more to it.
For those who may not have known, (pertaining to no one at all haha.) you can safely assume that I mainly draw anime. While this certainly is true, I also have a knack into drawing realism and appear to handle it much better than anime. However, I also seem to have a whacky pattern concerning the two...once I feel that I am "sucking" at one of the two styles, it's a red flag indicating that I should focus on the other and thus I draw the other awfully well (In my case) and vice versa.
As odd as that may sound, this is exactly w
The Fairy Tale, A Lifelong ResonanceA thousand years tradition of scaring children at bedtime continues for children of all ages. News of the discovery of 500 “new” fairy tales collected over 150 years ago [link] in Germany and locked away in a forgotten archive has me thinking about the enduring importance of these narrative treasures in the lives of human societies worldwide. My worry, have fairy tales been marginalized by modernism? The Fairy Tale, A Lifelong Resonance2 years ago in DeviantART Announcements More Like This

Character Design: An introductionCharacter Design: An introduction2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Arvalis-2012 by arvalis
What does 'Character Design' mean?
The character design is the process which comes after the characterisation and consists in defining the character through his/her physical appearance.
We need to consider a character as a little fictional creature, human or not, that aims to please its creator and the public as well.
While the basic characterization of this fictional creature (his tastes, his fears, his behaviors) may take a little mental effort, as it is a sort of list of emotions, facts and feelings that come and go in the life of a character, the process of visual realization of this creature may not be as simple. That's why many writers and characters creators prefer to rely on experienced hands.
Also many of the mental aspects of the character are not possible to gain by using 'static' visual medium. For 'static' I mean all the illustrations and drawings unable to tell a

Resume version...seven?In the last four months I've remade my resume about four times. Every time I did though it became too bulky but when I removed information it didn't have the same impact. Eventually my information became so out of date that I needed to do something.Resume version...seven?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Old Resume : http://chaosarts.deviantart.com/art/Design-Resume-April-2011-205841301
Then I had the idea to use Google sites. A traditional resume wouldn't benefit from the format. But when I use my resume I've already personally introduced myself and the resume is acting as a supportive piece. To which this new version should function perfectly.
