Here is the newest image created for a Graphic Novel series myself and a good friend have been working on the past year or so called Telikos Protocol.
The image shows a giant alien machine being struck by a powerful orbital weapon.
This image also showcases the kind of artwork you will expect to find in the novel and its prelude comic released in November. For more info on the projects and pre-orders for the prelude comic head over to my journal entry [link]

This is one of the images done for the Telikos Protocol prelude comic, a preview to a large graphic novel project myself and a good friend have been working on. The prelude was released a few weeks back and it was greeted with great positivity.
We are getting close to a final script for the first graphic novel and so as its also coming to the end of the year I thought I would release a few of the larger images form the prelude. This one is a splash page on pg7 of the prelude.

You can keep up to date on the project here [link] as well as secure yourself a copy of the prelude, we have a few left but once they are gone that's it :ahoy:

Here is the cover image for the Prelude comic for a graphic novel series myself and a good friend have been working on.
The image shows a key element of the story, a giant ominous orb held in a large facility.
This prelude is to be released in November, if you would like to read up on the project and find out how to pre order a copy of the prelude then head over to either my journal entry [link]

(Updated: I had some revisions I wanted to make to the original and felt they were too big to just place over the old submission so I have resubmitted it, sorry for any inconvenience :ahoy: )

As the title suggests this is a pretty crazy image, I am a huge fan of Napoleonic era naval battle paintings and I wanted to try and create a similar image but in space, a battle between 3 ships, 2 of them trying to take down the rather more advanced and skilled Dreadnought in the middle. In the distance a line of ships launches a volley of missiles towards the incoming ship knowing their 2 ships have fallen, one gutted by a powerful laser, the other suffering from a major reactor explosion.
Further in the distance a huge battle is being fought in a large dust cloud, it illuminates the inside of the cloud and creates a slit of light across the clouds opening.

The image also points out some gameplay features, one being how you can level up a ship, the Dread in the middle is very advanced, its seen a lot of combat so its crew knows the ship and its systems well and so can overclock all systems basically, hence the ultra laser. Also you may notice its hull has a distinct hexagonal pattern, this is another feature, if you upgrade the hull it will show. Also gun turrets will vary depending on the type.

My recent task working on the MMORTS game Novus Aeterno, along with the rest of the art team, was to make space less boring. In reality its very empty and black so we have been working on some ideas to make it feel more dynamic and interesting the first of these concepts is already in my gallery called "Solar Winds" this 2 image sheet is one of many.

In this image there are 2 concepts based on dust and gas clouds that will found in the game, also they were painted to show how the ingame effects will look as your ships fly through the clouds. The top is a normal dust cloud and your ship will create a wake behind it, the spirals move outward due to the force from the engines. The second is inside a gas cloud that lights up when its particles get excited by moving, your ships create smokey luminescent trails behind them.

Here is another skin for the Human Capitol ship the Basilisk for the MMORTS game Novus Aeterno. These fellas have been through hell, their ships reflect this by being rather beat up, bits missing, exposed interiors, and extra plating welded onto the sides, they leak as well. However despite their weak jury rigged appearance they know what they are doing and the ship is working at peak efficiency thanks to some rather inventive skills with the welding torch. Do not underestimate them.

The first image is one concept for a large space storm, they look similar to a double layered super cell only much larger and can span large distances as walls. They can be dangerous to ships passing through them due top frequent violent plasma discharges.
The second is a more nutty idea cooked up by our Creative Director, its called a Storm Core and it bursts into life starting small and gradually increases in size and power as shown above, it will wreak havoc in a system causing all sorts of nasty issues and limiting travel in a system until it dissipates or moves on.

The first is a concept for a Pulsar, a very rare and very powerful spacial anomaly, you will be lucky, or unlucky, if you find one of these in the game but they are very pretty and very violent spinning at a billion billion RPM and rotating slightly firing huge gamma rays out of each pole as it spins. Also known as the lighthouses of space... Only vastly more dangerous.
The second is a concept for large Antimatter Rifts, similar in appearance to Aurora you find on Earth only huge and not very pleasant if you were to fly though it. These would be dotted around systems or in the backgrounds.

Continuing with the upload of work I have done so far working at Taitale Studios on their new MMORTS game Novus Aeterno I present to you Derelict (my balls) I did the joke here first but I know it wont stop the comments rolling in with that in them haha, also if you've never seen Zoolander you will have no idea what that means.
Anyway back on to the subject of the image, its actually a remake of a much older image I did for the game a long time ago before I was actually part of the team just doing freelance work, the old image goes by the same name and the principle is the same a giant war torn world and a wreak of a large ship in orbit.
This is one of my favorite images so far out of the pile of images I've done for the game.

In the space between planets a huge Fusion reactor was built to satisfy the ever growing need for energy. It creates small stars which it gets energy from, this energy is then transmitted to every world in the system. The power is immense, as new stars are created using a form of laser fusion huge dust clouds swirl and ignite. When the energy form a star is depleted is shrinks and dies in a controlled and harmless way. A convoy of ships approach the station probably to offload supplies and personnel.

This is my entry to the new Luminarium Exhibit themed Energy, always wanted to make a huge machine that makes stars hehe.
