2013 SPRING FEATURE: The White Angel2013 SPRING FEATURE: The White Angel2013 SPRING FEATURE: The White Angel8 months ago in Personal More Like This
"The White Angel" is a new comic that was envisioned by George W. Dennis, the best Indie Sci-fi comic book artist that I have ever come across. It is a hard science fiction story set in the year 2158 primarily in the asteroid belt, and also in outlying worlds such as Neptune. Drawing inspiration from the stories of Paul Preuss and Arthur C. Clark, as well as insightful technical information from Winchell Chung's atomic rockets website http://www.projectrho.com/public_html/rocket/index.php , George brings to life an immersive and intriguing vision of the kind of adventures that could lie ahead a little over a century from now.
Rather than getting caught up in far future technologies such as hyperspace and artificial gravity, focuses instead on the kind of future that could lie ahead for us right around the corner. The asteroid survey vessel Muneqita http://beltminer.deviantart.com/art/main-belt-surve

Babylon 5 - Some behind the scenes stuffTom Smith about "Babylon 5 - Some behind the scenes stuff":Babylon 5 - Some behind the scenes stuff1 year ago in Personal More Like This
No easy way to introduce this subtly, so.
After contacting Ron Thornton, to find out who designed one of the ships on Babylon 5, one thing led to another, and a quick exercise in learning how to code up a web page turned into a unique reference site. (5 years, 15 FX artists and one producer later). Among those contacted included Steve Burg, Everett Burrell, Eric Chauvin and Kevin Kutchaver.
The site isn't going to stay up forever, It was just a hobby, a one off, so I made it downloadable for anyone to keep – no strings, popups, adverts or anything else attached. Just a lot frank, revealing and occasionally funny interviews from a bunch of artists with enough Emmys between them to field a couple of football teams (that answer a lot of questions and bust a few myths) and a fair bit of previously unreleased concept art, like this.
It's not so much ab
Everyone needs to see this.I think everyone on the planet should be required to look at this infographic. Whether you might be atheistic or christian, catholic, what-have-you this is still mind-blowing and helps to put oneself in perspective in the scope of the universe. http://graphjam.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/0bde2ad5-9e78-48f4-819e-ae0632ef999b1.pngEveryone needs to see this.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
According to the math we all have a estimated 1 in 10^2,685,000 odds of being born. This is just being born and doesn't take into account millions of possibilities such as ancestor death, geographical disaster, etc, etc. So this stat is actually an extreme under-exaggeration considering most of our ancestors have lived through Desert Storm, Vietnam, WWII, WWI.
Like I said, no matter your nomination this is considerably mind-blowing to think about.

Merry Christmas one and allI told :iconweapon13whitefang: that I'd tell what I got for Christmas, so here's my haulMerry Christmas one and all2 years ago in Personal More Like This

How to ink like an idiotThis is a tutorial on how I personally go from a concept sketch, to a finished ink piece. A lot of people have asked me how I ink, so this is pretty much here to explain a few things. DO NOT follow these directions exactly you will end up with a big mess. How to ink like an idiot10 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I am by no means a professional inker and I pretty much make it up as I go along. But this is here just to give you the basic idea of how I ink... very differently than most people. I hope this helps some people out in the long run.

Strathmore Bristol Vellum, 11X14 or bigger:
This stuff is great, and cheap most inkers don't use it because of the rough texture, but it gives me the exact effect I want. There is another type of Bristol Vellum somewhere out there by AquaBee, but I think they are out of business now. If you find this paper, USE it it's really amazing paper.

Cosplay Tutorial: Molding and casting your piecesThis tutorial is based on how to use Smooth-on's Oomoo- and Smooth-cast series materials for cosplay purposes. There is little special too about using fiberglass instead of smooth-cast. Hope you enjoy!Cosplay Tutorial: Molding and casting your pieces10 months ago in Personal More Like This
Ok. Lets get started!
"I need five identically same looking parts like in that center of the picture for my cosplay but making them one by one would take LOTS of time. What to do?"
If you have the right materials then the answer is simple: "Make one sharp prototype of that piece then mold it and cast it."
Here are the materials you need:
- Modelling paste for making the prototype (or what ever material you like. It won't affect to the final product)
- Smooth-On's Oomoo 25 or 30 for making the mold (mold max 20-40 works too but it' need more skill to use. So i recommend Oomoo)
- Smooth-On's Smoothcast series for casting (i recommend smooth-cast 320 because it is easy to paint with spray paint)
(Smooth-On got lot of resellers in few countries. Here in Finland is Silcom.fi who sells their p
Perceptions of HomosexualityGay and Lesbian rights is a an issue that galvanizes people, particularly on the internet, and as I writer of male/male fiction or a Yaoi fangirl, as you may prefer, I would like to weigh in with my views on the matter.Perceptions of Homosexuality1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Naturally I do completely support Gay rights and all this entails. For example I believe that adoption and marriage are just as valid options for Gay and Lesbian couples and should be permitted and protected by law. I also feel that individuals of any marginal sexual orientation or gender identity should be free from prejudice, harassment, or unequal treatment at work or in public. So on and so forth.
I think that this is the most common stance for liberal-minded individuals and is probably the one expected of me, given my interests. My interests in male/male works however are not what guarantees or suggests my support for Gay rights.
I think most Yaoi fans do support gay rights but, although their tastes may influence this opinion, this is mainly because they are thems

Celebrate deviantART's 13th Birthday!Celebrate deviantART's 13th Birthday!5 months ago in DeviantART Announcements More Like This
On the day of your birth, you were likely surrounded by those who loved you, who would lead you through the rough first scary years of life, and who would stand by as you grew into a capable person. As time passed, others may have drifted into your life, and even if you didn't know it, they also nurtured and cared for you in much the same way, helping to shape the person you would become.
When a community like deviantART is born, the same common thread binds its originators and founding members together. Over the years, more and more creative beings drift into its life and strengthen its core every single day, resulting in an exponentially inspirational powerhouse for the sheer fact that they've become a part of it. That nurturing spirit, that inherent support system, that caring community inspires deviantART to grow, and it comes from inside each and every one of you.
Steam Powered Spaceships.I had this idea quite some time ago, but something just kicked it back into my consciousness.Steam Powered Spaceships.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Space, at least relatively near a star, is both very hot and very cold at the same time.
Imagine a spaceships with ion drives.
Couldn't there be a way to make water into steam using the heat from the Sun and then condense it in a shadowed area of the system. The steam generated starts flowing through circular tubes turning turbines and generating electricity. After that it flows into the condesing zone and warms up and keeps the water there above freezing and it also pushes it into the evaporation zone and the cycle repeats.
It seems a little like a perpetual machine, but it isn't since the Sun provides the energy and the system can't be completely frictionless.
It's also sounds a bit simple, but if it were possible it might be as complex as a steam locomotive or at least as a steam powered car from the 20s.
The advantage would be that as long as

I might change its design also one of these days ._.
The account is semi-automated now as well, and it will be sharing around 6 deviations daily. Why 6? For a) Focus on quality over quantity and b) Don't spam my followers. I think 6 are enough
This account is part of my goal to give you digital artists more exposure outside DA,

Welcome. Make a wish.
It has been a great honor to interview Alexandra, `AlexandraVBach, for the third installment of our "Legends of Photomanipulation" series. Devious Journal EntryHey guys, here's a lil motivational quote I shared on Facebook - thought I'd do the same here.Devious Journal Entry11 months ago in Personal More Like This
It's from a Director at Disney.
I'm sharing it as well, not so much on here - but I see a lot of Artists stressing out on their skills on various sites, all the time - way too often! So I find this guy sums up the fact there is no need to stress, and anyone who follows Bobby Chiu will know he says the same thing. One of my main motivations is my own improvement, exploration and growth, not how well I'm doing compared to my peers; as some are shooting way past me, but so what! That's their path not mine. Anyway this guy writes it very nicely
Have a good week! Thanks for all the feedback and stuff recently <33333
