Pokedex CollectionsThanks to needlesandfred for the picture. Check it out at this http://fav.me/d4mj60e
Hello there! I'm going to be talking about Pokedex Collections. These are collections of artworks of all the Pokemon there are. That's one picture for all 649 Pokemon (That's the current count for now) that exists. If you're interested in doing it, then continue reading.
What exactly is a Pokedex Collection?
To put it simply, a Pokedex Collection is just one picture for each Pokemon in a collection. For example, a complete collection would be all the 649 Pokemon there is, and a Kanto collection will consist of Bulbasaur all the way to Mew.
Should I consider starting on one?
Give a quick glance at your gallery and ask yourself a few questions.
Do some of your Pokemon pictures share the same style? (E.g. Coloring technique, outline style, identical characteristics).
Have you got the motivation continue doing more, if not all of the Pokemon?
Can you continue working

Today we are looking at the Literature gallery, with our Top Tips.
Before you start
READ the piece all the way through.
Read it again, making notes of what you would like to point out in your critique.
Stay Objective- you are critiquing the piece not the person.
These tips are areas which aren't just necessary in critiquing others' work, but also when self-critiquing your own writing. This is one person's suggestions and I welcome any further tips in addition.
A good opening. The opening to any form of writing doesn't necessarily need to involve a physical explosion, but it needs to have an initial hook; something to entice the reader in. It needs to be clear, something that

I had the idea for this News article when I recently went through the Tutorial list of Emotication. I normally send deviants to Emotication when they need help to create Emoticons. Now that I went through the list I noticed that many tutorials aren't helpful at all. It is "just" a list with very good but also very bad tutorials.
In the first edition of the help corner I want to share tutorials with you that I find helpful. These don't necessarily reflect my preferences in the emoticon creation process
Let me first tell you something about different shadings. Every Emoticonist has different preferenc

As we began to examine the Emoticons category we quickly learned that we had a bit of a mess to clean up, but fortunately it's a very cute mess and very fun to think about.
As a category, Chat Friendly Emotes isn't going to cut it anymore. There are Emotes in it that come from various inspirations, meanwhile, a very clear culture that has formed around Emotes that deviantART specifically has always supported. The ones that are 15 x 15 pixels in size doing all wonders of things. Providing a category for this specific, and very popular style is a must and this would split those Emotes from intermingling with other sized, shaped and styled Emotes.
The thought was to make this style reside within the new category, "Chat Friendly PLZ" but let's discuss that! Changing a category name takes us a matter of seconds to do, so we would love your input on the final name for the category - home to the adorable

Thank You Feature:iconrunawayemoteplz: Recently I was going through a bit of an art-crisis and was on the verge of torching my gallery and heading out of Dodge. I figured a few people would be sad to see me go. What I didn't count on was the huge outpouring of support I received from my friends and Watchers. They managed to talk me down from the ledge and keep me level until I could see things straight again. I am so grateful for their kind words and support. As a small thank you, I am featuring a piece from the galleries of each of the deviants who offered me words of support on my journal and profile during that time.Thank You Feature4 years ago in Art Features More Like This

I found litecrush and Indaes entry to the Opposites themed collab event a really interesting twist on the theme. Both sides have been nicely pixelled with a clever link between them to make a single great piece of work.
I just love how ROBlNHOOD has managed to animate a range of different water themed items into H2O in one fluent emoticon. Each has a great feel to it and some of the special effects really shine through

CEA Blog: How to Submit an Abuse ReportHi deviants!CEA Blog: How to Submit an Abuse Report4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Today I would like to address an issue that unfortunately happens quite often in abuse reports filed to our support center. We've had guides and articles written about this in the past but we felt it was time for a refresher!
So what is an "Abuse Report"?
The Abuse Report category is where a deviant would file their ticket under if they are being harassed or was witness to someone else being harassed out there in our community. Not knowing where to go or what to do when this happens understandably only adds to the problem!
Before anything else, please remember that abuse reports are only for the most severe of harassment issues. Things like disagreements, debates, general rudeness one might experience due to the anonymity of the internet or personal drama you may have with another deviant are some minor issues that can be easily handled by taking advantage of our Hide and

Are Emoticons Art?A reprint of my "Are Emoticons Art?" for beta-testers who can't view it...Are Emoticons Art?5 years ago in Personal More Like This
I recently heard all of the buzz about the art website, Shadowness. Of course, I was curious and went over to take a peek. Problem is, while I was welcomed, I learned my art is not. I'm an emoticonist. At Shadowness, emotes and general pixel-art are not a supported artform. In fact, a good deal of art sites do not feel emoticons are gallery worthy.
Thank goodness for deviantART.
That said, the eternal question remains. "Are emoticons art? " Even as an emoticonist, I still grapple with this question. So, to see what others in the community thought, I posed the question in a recent poll and wanted some feedback. I'd heard all of the negative things about them in the past, so I wanted to see what positive views were out there. Some of the words were surprising. Here's a number of them:

Today we are looking at the pixel art- and icon-gallery, with our Top 10 (or so) Tips provided by the wonderful assistance of Hardrockangel.
1. The outline of your pixel
Like a drawing, pixeling usually starts with a sketch that is later refined to a line art.
And this line art can make or break your pixel depending on how carefully it was made.
A couple of mistakes that are often made:
- bunched up pixels instead of a 1 pixel line
- a disproportionate outline (looks mashed)
- A sketched outline
So how can you make a good-looking line-art? Take your time!
Don't just sketch, but work with a hard brush-tool of 1 pixel and place each pixel by hand.
What to look for when critiquing: Is the pixel-out
