Religion destroys your humanityYeah I've been meaning to talk about this since it's been bothering me. It's amazing how so many people lose their mind when it comes to religion. Okay so if you remembered I had mentioned it on these http://supyloco.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4k06yb http://supyloco.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4k07aa http://supyloco.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4k07jm . Now that part is interesting for various reasons though it's not the most talked about nor is it the worst in the sense that it's not as defended or talked about. You know my opinion on rape and I find it disgusting that the bible is just so lenient when it comes to the rapist and instead is punishing the victim. But no this is not the point of this journal. The point of this journal is not point out the many flaws of scripture but to address the people who make excuses for it. That's the name of the journal. So one of the most interesting story of the bible is that of Abraham. I had a poll on him here http://supyloco.deviantart.com/journal/p

"God gaves us free will, ergo it's pur own fault": Except that the Bible nor the Qu'ran put emphasis on free will. Hell, this excuse is so very recent, that, until a few centuries ago, the idea that God had absolute control over our lives was very popular.
"Its our fault; Adam and Eve's sin created evil, not God!": If you have read Genesis, you'll know this is bullshit (Hell, even Yahweh admits he created evil!). Likewise, at no point is the first sin ever considered a "Pandora's Box" situation.
"God is goodness incarnate! Evil is against his nature!":...have you even read the Bible? Yahweh is also considered to not be goodness incarnate until the NT and Qu'ran; in the OT, he is treated as a Lawful Neutral agent.
"Your're putting everything out of context!": Considering I actually bother to read the Bible/Qu'ran, while you only cherry pick passages your pastor dictates...
"He died for your sins! You should be grateful!":
1- His sacrifice was pointless, He only rescued saints from Sheol

In the beginning the gods and I decided to create other beings. We debated on how they should act, how their mortality is handled, and in what conditions can they live. Each god was given an assignment on what to handle. Of course I gave everyone their duties and led the order of creation. The creation began with the formation of the Earth but was formless and empty.
El: Let there be light!!! It looks good. Now I will form darkness and it will be separate from the light. The light shall be called day and the Dark will be called night. We will create more as the days pass since it will set a precedent of time for our creation. Each day will repeat to create order.
Baal: Father, we must create land and water so there will be livable space for these beings. If you expect order then we must do this.
El: You are right my son. This will be done in the second day. Gather the other gods so we may create all of these living beings.
And so the first day passed. A very short day to be honest. Loo

I do not stand before you with a hate filled heart.
I do not stand before you today wishing to destroy anyone's beliefs or ways of life.
I do not stand before you today hoping to achieve a victory for one group while hurting another.
Instead, I stand before you today in the hope that you listen open-mindedly.
That is all I ask.
In 1956, "In God We Trust" was adopted as the United States official motto. This motto has been on our coins since 1864 and on our paper currency since 1957. In 1954, the words "Under God" where added to the Pledge of Allegiance. The question of whether or not these phrases are constitutional has been argued on all levels, from the dinner tables of average Americans, all the way up to the Supreme Court. I personally believe that these phrases are unconstitutional, but the arguments for it have been so overused that I feel repeating them would be beating a dead horse.
