What I do when looking for characters to adopt is think of whose designs I still need for certain stories. (I have a document full of the names of all the characters I've ever made up for all my stories; some of them need designs so I can draw them.) This helps me stay focused on what I need. If I know that need designs for a man in a fantasy setting, I will be less likely to buy a little girl in a science fiction setting. I recommend that everyone at least have a list of features they like so they don't get sidetracked or distracted and buy something that is of little to no practical value to them.
- DO prove that you're using the character
Private RPing is fine and dandy, but if all people see is that you aren't submitting anything about your character to your gallery, they'll resent it. I know I do. So SHOW that you're using the character! Compile your RP and make a story out of it, and then submit it to your g
